If I could write a MINUS star rating I would.

The experience my mum had from Wickes was the worst anyone could ask for.

After their designer messing up the entire kitchen design, taking no responsibility for his mistakes and being rude to my mum, eventually my mum's builder made the kitchen.

Pieces don't fit correctly, some part are shoddy and my mum paid nearly a thousand pounds extra for him to fix up Wicke's mistake.

Despote acknowledhing all this in various emails and phone calls, including recognising the behaviour of the designer being 'not professional', they offered my mum no compensation.

We asked for just enough to cover the extra work, and some for stress and poorer products than paid for.

Nothing. This multi-million pound company would rather spend time argueing in emails over and over again about why they won't give my mum compensation and admit some fault, than simply pay a small fee to make a customer happy.

In the end, after going via the OMBUDSMAN they finally agreed to some compensation of - can you believe it - £150!!!

AND, not only that, they said to receive it my mum would have to sign a non-disclosure agreement stating that she wouldn't tell anyone about the whole thing.

Of course she refused to sign.

My mum is now, resentfully paying off her over-priced kitchen and trying not to notice all the faults.

The behaviour of Wickes' head office and customer service teams is absolutely disgraceful.

My mum had been asked by several friends since for recommendations for kitchen and each and everyone of them was told - stay clear of Wickes and has done.

The power of word of mouth is strong and I cannot believe that Wickes did not simply apologise for their errors, write a £3000 cheque, which is not even 20% of what my mum paid, and a dent in their bank balance, to make her a happy customer.

They didn't offer to come around and fix the errors themselves with their own building team, or anything.

Utterly Disgraceful.

UPDATE - as you can see from the cr*p response. They didn't read the issue properly and they just say the word sorry because they are concerned people may see this review. But they don't offer to reach out and rectify the problem.

Judge for yourselves everyone, this is a terrible company - don't trust them.

In May this year we invited a designer into our home to measure and give us ideas on a new kitchen. Designer Leonie did give us quite a few good ideas, and we were very enthusiastic to having the kitchen upgraded. It was mentioned on our second visit that there maybe some extras. We didn’t realise just how many. On our next visit Leonie had a piece of the floor, tile and worktop we had requested. She then proceeded to tell us, these, (except the worktop), were not included in the estimate that she printed, but were on the specialist works price guide which we expected. We were told everything would be done the way we wanted it, and it certainly wouldn’t be much at all. We had to put a 10% deposit on that day, to enable the fitters (which Leonie told us were their own, but were not), to come and give us an estimate for specialist works to be carried out. They gave us such a high estimate for these works, and told us that certain things couldn’t be done, that Leonie had told us otherwise. There were so many things wrong that we cannot list here. The estimates were so high for such a small kitchen, that we cancelled everything on 06/07/25, and also wrote a letter of complaint to Wickes (which we still haven’t had a reply from). Low and behold, this morning at 07.30am, Wickes turned up with our new kitchen! You couldn’t make it up. Honestly! I Pausker.

I’m absolutely thrilled with my new bathroom, designed by Paul at Wickes. From start to finish, he was professional, attentive, and full of great ideas. He helped me create a space that’s not only stylish and relaxing, but also incredibly functional.

So happy with my amazing Japanese toilet.

Highly recommend Paul if you're planning a bathroom makeover. He truly brought my vision to life!

Our new kitchen has just been finished and we are very pleased with the result. Our designer was Leonie, who took a great deal of care to ensure that every inch of space in our small kitchen was utilised to its maximum. She was patient with our (frequent) changes of mind and it was clear that she really wanted to help us make the best of the space we had available. There was no hard sell and we did not at any point feel under pressure to sign on the dotted line, which is an approach we really appreciated.

Although the installation process took longer than initially estimated, we were not too surprised by this (at least partly due to some underlying issues in our house). We are also aware that some items did not arrive in the first delivery, which did cause one or two delays, but our installers sorted all that out without us needing to get involved.

All of the individuals that carried out work (installers/electricians/gas engineers/plasterers) were friendly, polite and hard-working. Any issues we spotted during installation were sorted out quickly and the supervisor made sure that we were happy before we signed off the job as complete.

I visited the Borehamwood branch of Wickes and arranged a meeting with Paul Hart the kitchen design consultant. I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome and he recognised instantly what my requirements were in terms of design - and budget. Paul designed exactly what I needed with ease, and a lot of patience, without any pressure at all. Excellent experience and I can’t wait to see the end result which was organised with great knowledge and expertise - and kindness. I would highly recommend. 5 *****

Had such an amazing experience,served by Andre's at Borehamwood beach. He went above and beyond to help me out.He did his best to find me the stuff I was looking for and not only that he carried to the till for me and handover to colleges at the till. Wish him all the very best for his job roll .He deserves the best for his customers service.

Very helpful kitchen designer (Suchita) who accommodated any small changes we made. Good quality materials and a wide range of worktops ( We chose compressed laminate) Returns of a few unused items was very simple. Ours was not a complete kitchen but a section which blended in well.

Graet service, unbeatable price.
Leonie at design helped us to design a magnificent kitchen with the maximum use of all spaces available. She has been so helpful and her professional advice, help us to have a lovely kitchen.

Had a lil project in mind but was unsure about the exact materials I would need. Luke was very helpful in locating and advising me. He took his time with giving me information to make this the simplest and most effective method for me as a solo DIYer.

We have been dealing with Leonie D in the Borehamwood branch. We cannot express our gratitude more - she has been extremely helpful, listened to our requirements and had no issues with the various changes we requested.

She spent a significant amount of time measuring our existing kitchen and drawing up the proposed kitchen plan.

The thing that impressed us more is that there is no hard sell and no pushiness. A real pleasure to deal with.

I went into Wickes to buy some heavy items, unfortunately I couldn't see any trollies outside so went inside. I am disabled and even pushing those heavy trollies around can be a problem.

I met a lovely lady called Anne and asked her if there were any trollies as none outside. Anne went and found a trolly for me, offered to help with my purchase, loaded onto the trolley, took me to an empty till to run through and then took the goods, 6 5l cartons of de-ionised water, and packed in my car which was parked in the disabled bay. Anne made my visit a real pleasure as I would have struggled without her help - a credit to Wickes and the reason I will go back and shop there again. Thank you Anne.

I needed a replacement seal for my toilet cistern. Jason was very helpful at finding the item. So nice to be greeted with a smile and friendly demeanour. This is the third time over two years that I have been helped by Jason and, as on previous occasions, always goes above and beyond with his help and advice. Thank you for your outstanding service!

A good experience all round. From the in-store designer, Suchita, who listened to what I wanted, offered suggestions, visited my home to measure and offer further advice. The trades person Bogomil, who oversaw the removal of the old kitchen, making good the walls & ceilings, electrics, plumbing etc and fitting the new kitchen with added personal specification on request. The workmanship was excellent. Extremely happy with the finished kitchen.

I just get alot help from Umar I need to buy soo many thinks and I lost in shop he came and offered help and I did all my shopping easily thanks for Umars help

Umar was very helpful in picking up the items we needed.

Delightful gentleman, Jason, escorted us to what we wanted (special paints and varnishes) then assisted us further. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional Nothing too much trouble for him! A huge credit/asset to your company. Thank you Jason

Ordered bespoke kitchen sent wrong colour kitchen.
Manager Lewis is useless never responds back.
Sent wrong colour kitchen back. Still havnt got new original kitchen sent out yet.
Been without a kitchen for 6 weeks.
Had no apology and as a customer we were blamed.
AVOID!!!!
especially Lewis the manager customer service diabolical.
