Left with a huge pile of rubbish on my drive for weeks. Wickes sub contracts to Hippo Waste Management who are refusing to collect the rubbish and I’m caught in the middle. I’ve already had thieves on my property helping themselves to scrap which makes me feel vulnerable and unsafe. Wickes customer service is useless, they keep telling me they will contact Hippo then I hear nothing. It’s such a shame as the installer subcontracted by Wickes ( Ian) and the store designer (Tom) were great but this has completely ruined the experience. I’ve contacted Citizens Advice as I continue the battle to have the waste removed. I will never buy a product from Wickes again.

Ray, showed us care and attention at every stage of designing, organising and buying our kitchen. We cannot thank him enough for all his expertise, knowledge and kindness. This is what customer service should be when spending this amount of money.

Went to see Ray in kitchens. He was brilliant. So helpful and guided me perfectly. Will defo stay and Wicks to my friends and family.

Recently ordered 2 bathrooms to be fully installed - have encountered issues with wrong parts being ordered and then severe delays in ordering replacement. They have now marked job as complete so installer can be paid while I am left with an UNSAFE and incomplete shower unit, among other things.

An update after Wickes response below - 2 weeks now passed and outstanding works still remain and despite Wickes stating they would review, no response from their concerns/complaints team. Shocking!!

Ray was very helpful, listened to our ideas and made suggestions with lots of options. He gave me every confidence that my kitchen will be as I dream it !!

The process of booking a home consultation to agreeing our final design was really quick and simple. Tom has been really helpful - looking forward to the work being completed!

Went into Wickes Chorley to see if they had some tiles as the Preston branch didn't have enough and were not very helpful. We spoke to Harvey, what a lovely lad, took every box of tiles off the shelf looking for the correct batch number and even though they didn't find enough for our requirements he said they would keep them until we had checked if any other shops had any. Unfortunately they didn't but the service he provided was excellent.

I dealt with Ray Lythgoe who helped me price and design 2 bathrooms. Ray has been great, very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Never pushed any products onto me, let me decide what I wanted and worked with me to get the designs done. Would highly recommend, 5 star service.

We've now experienced Wren, Howdens & Ray at Wickes Chorley. No competition on service, genuine customer interest or price. Ray took a "breath of fresh air" approach to helping us and, to be completely frank, we had pretty much decided we were going to buy from him before he'd worked out the price. Trust is very important when making major financial decisions such as buying a kitchen and Ray quickly earned our trust with his genuine approach. Thanks Ray much appreciated. Tony & Alison

Ray designed the kitchen and was consistently friendly, knowledgeable and gave great advice. Would definitely recommend. The reason for only 4 stars is the lack of heating in the Chorley store which made it very cold and uncomfortable.

Mohammed assisted me on two occasions to find plumbing parts in store, he was polite, professional and very helpful. The store is clean and tidy with very pleasant staff. Thank you

From the very first conversation with Tom, we knew we were in safe hands. He took our ideas, our rough sketches, and our long wish list and turned them into a kitchen design that went far beyond what we ever imagined. His professionalism, creativity, and genuine passion for his work were clear at every step of the process.

Tom guided us through the entire journey with ease — from initial concepts, measurements, and layout options to choosing materials, colours, and finishes. No question was too small, and no challenge ever felt like a problem. His eye for detail is unmatched, and he managed to balance practicality with style perfectly.

What impressed us most, though, was how calmly and supportively Tom handled the last-minute changes my wife decided to make (and there were a few!). He didn’t just accept them — he embraced them, reworked the plans, and offered expert advice to make sure the final result still flowed beautifully. His patience, flexibility, and clear communication turned what could’ve been stressful into a genuinely enjoyable experience.

The finished design is flawless. Every inch of the space has been considered, and the end result is a kitchen we’re genuinely proud of — functional, modern, and completely “us.” It’s rare to find someone who is both incredibly talented and genuinely invested in making sure their clients are happy, but Tom is exactly that.

If you’re looking for a kitchen designer who listens, guides, and delivers excellence from start to finish, Tom is the one you need. We couldn’t recommend him highly enough. An absolutely outstanding service.
