Poor after-sales service and failure to resolve missing items

My order was delivered, but it was incomplete. Essential plywood sheets were missing, making the delivery useless for my time-critical project.

I contacted customer services three separate times and clearly explained that the missing items were urgent and needed to be dispatched immediately. On each call I was reassured that this would be “sorted” and sent out, and that I would receive tracking confirmation.

Nothing was dispatched. No tracking. No explanation.

Despite repeated promises, there was no follow-up action and no proactive communication. I had to chase continuously, only to receive the same vague assurances each time. This caused significant stress and disruption and forced me to arrange an emergency alternative elsewhere.

Polite customer service is meaningless if it doesn’t lead to action. Failing to resolve missing items promptly, especially after repeated assurances, is unacceptable.

I would not recommend Wood Sheets if you need reliability or timely resolution when something goes wrong.

(Edit) i can confirm I have now received an apology for my experience and a full refund. I only hope this will encourage WoodSheets to improve their service. Therefore I have now changed my review rating from one start to three.

The lack of action and communication you describe does not meet the standard we expect of ourselves, especially for a time-critical project.

Stupidly and my fault I used this…

Stupidly and my fault I used this Company again after previous problems. I placed my order with the optional Gloss Lacquer with matching finished edges. After a couple of weeks the order arrived and it was not what I expected. Both sides of the wood had obvious 'rough' areas that had not been sanded smooth which you would have expected considering the application of the lacquer. I am convinced that the lacquer had not even been applied there was absolutely no indication of a gloss finish and after checking the website you can clearly see that there is an obvious reflection in the surface of the example they show. The company response was that the lacquer can soak into the wood. Excuse after excuse they really are *****y hard work ! I was offered a £15 refund against the order total of £72 which was frankly a joke but it was my decision because I was totally fed up of wasting anymore time on this Company, it really was a case of learning my lesson and 'cut and run'. My item is now with a local tradesman, who, incidentally agreed that the wood finish was very poor and he did not believe lacquer had been applied. When I told him what I had paid he was quite shocked. The extra cost that I will incur is totally the fault of WS in their inability to provide what they advertise. If you want to save yourself a lot of hassle and expense steer well clear of this company !!!

Avoid this company at all costs

Nice, easy to use website but that's the end of the good experience.
Ordered a sheet that was in stock and paid for express delivery. It didn't arrive in the 3-4 days as promised. Two weeks later it arrived damaged. During the two week period I attempted to contact the firm numerous times on the phone, holding on for 45 mins or more, never to speak to anyone. Web messages went unanswered and leaving a voicemail for the elusive Chris also went unanswered. I even attempted to leave a message when phoning but the voicemail box was full.
When the item arrived, 3 of the 4 corners were crushed and chipped, the sheet had what looked like red marker pen smudged on it and the surface was pitted.
I eventually managed to speak to Customer Service who promised a replacement by the end of the week. It never arrived. After more calls and messages I eventually managed to speak to someone who promised a new sheet would be delivered in a couple of days. It did but once again corners were crushed and chipped and the edging was poorly applied. There was a large brown "mud" stain (?) on the board and once again the surface was not smooth but appeared pitted.
Having little faith in this company I asked my card company to do a charge back, which I duly received.
I only wished I'd checked Trustpilot first.

Ordered using express delivery, this delivery never happened, then spent lots of my own time chasing the order.

Company was impossible to contact, no one answered their phone number, can't leave a message as their inbox is constantly full (probably from other complaints) emails sent were ignored or not responded to for days

Materials ordered were for a customers job; asked for refund due to lack of delivery, told they have up to 30days to deliver and if not done by this time they would refund.

Took nearly 30 days to deliver from date of order, my business bank refunded the money when i raised the farce of this company and my order

Left on my drive and still there as I ordered from an alternative company which delivered within 3 days with prefect communications throughout

So despite saying i wanted my order cancelled and no longer wanted the order: they delivered it weeks later anyway.....

Lots of poor reviews for this company, wish I had read woodsheets reviews first and i would NEVER HAE USED THEM

I would give them ZERO stars if i could

AVOID!!!!!!!!

I had high expectations and was not disappointed

I had high expectations given this companies website and references from associates, I was not disappointed as so many companies can talk the talk however Woodsheets.com really came across. I am very impressed with the end product they sent me so thank you wood sheets for the superior product you supplied.

Not impressed: Failed express delivery

Ordered items for express delivery. No confirmation of order for several days until prompted with email. Waited 8 days for part of order to be delivered. Emailed, failed calls and finally spoke with agent in the sales team who has said they will send missing items but no sense of urgency or further detail in when to expect items.

The wood panels arrived damaged and wrong, weeks late

The wood panels arrived weeks late, appallingly packaged, damaged beyond being useful, sizes all wrong and with paid features missing. Following a complaint, the company (weeks later) have refunded a fraction of the order value despite the entire order being a shambles. Do you think I should pay anything for a box of useless crap? Should I even be paying the postage for it?

Not The Best

After writing a review a few days ago, im writing yet another one to follow up. We had placed an order which we had been waiting quite a while for, contacted them but the email received was confusing. Anyways, Chris responded to my review leaving contact details. I phoned to no avail. But he did however contact my husband directly through email apologising and stating our order would be sent. Also he stated to contact him once we received our order so that he could process a discount. My husband did that but has not received any email back from Chris. Whilst we have our order, the whole experience is one I can safely say, we would not go through again.

I had numerous issues with both my orders and emailed you numerous times without a response. I also phoned you four times. I sent you a complaint but have still not had a reply.

Your service is atrocious! I was informed by one of your staff on Tuesday she would ensure my brackets were sent 1st class. I received them yesterday! Not first class in my opinion!

I complained about 2 of my 6 shelves being damaged on arrival and the packaging being torn and not wrapped sufficiently. I am still waiting for the replacements! Altogether the worst company I have ever had to deal with!

Not good.

Ordered 2 sheets of wood, nothing too taxing. Only 1 arrived in the parcel. Phoned up and left a message; they'd "call me back", so the message claimed. 3 hours later I phoned them again after no response, and this time spoke to Hayley explaining the situation.
Since the board they did not send needed 2 cm taking off one of the sides, I asked if they could do that before they sent out the board they missed from the order - easy enough since they hadn't sent it, right?
A few days later when coming to do the job, opened the new delivery to find the board had the old measurements and so would not fit. Phoned up again (35 minutes on hold), spoke to Hayley again, and explained it. She said she'd speak to someone and call me back. A week later, I still haven't had the return call nor the correct cut of board sent. Guess we'll have to do it ourselves.
Very poor service all round in my opinion. They deliver half orders, the staff don't read notes on files, and don't bother returning calls or following up on their commitments. Once they have your money, they're not bothered about delivering a respectable service, it seems. I do NOT recommend using them.

Delayed, missing parts and broken

Unfortunatley, despite how freindly the staff are on the phone, I cannot recommend.

Over two weeks ago I ordered a small custom order and paid for expedited shipping and the website estimated it would come in 1-2 days. After 2 days I chased them via the phone, and then continued to chase them most days until it arrived 9 days later. Furthermore half the order was missing and what had arrived one of the panels was damaged.

I've had to chase them repeatedly, with poor comms throughout. Its now a week later and after days of calling they have not sent out the replacement panels despite constant "we'll do our best to get this out to you today".

I've requested a call back from management on multiple occassions without response (and the kind customer service staff insisting they would reach out).

Response - Chris reached and and offered to fix the problems and provide a refund which was very kind and welcomed.

Exceptionally bad service

I have been waiting for a refund for almost a week, the assistance you get from customer service is one of “its still being processed “ which looks like a generic reply as all the emails say the same, the replays take days and I am still waiting, I have bills to pay and incurring bank charges, nobody can afford to wait this long for a refund, it didn't take this long to take the money out my account!, almost a week later and my refund has not yet been processed by accounts dept this is ridiculous and nobody seems to give a damn, if I had known this was going to be the case and the service was this bad I would never have chosen them, my advice is stay well away, they are awful to deal with and there are better companies out there that take your custom a lot more serious and value there customers……… you have been warned

Well just a quick update, its now 6 days later and I am still waiting for my refund which is not a small amount, but to wait this long is ridiculous especially after I was told it would take 3-5 days and to top it off the refund was not processed until I got in touch, which just goes to show how much they value there customers, I am glad I didn't buy from them because I doubt I'd ever see my order, talk about poor customer service this whole experience has been nothing short of disastrous and like I said before when you get in touch they either don't rely or they just fob you off.
I don't normally do reviews but after this level of customer service just wanted to warn other people to steer clear, the service is awful and they do not value your business, there are other companies that do so rather go to them and feel valued
I might be doing another update if I still haven't received my refund……stay tuned

Really poor quality. Avoid.

Similar experience to several others on here (yes, I wish I'd read the reviews first).... what was delivered was pretty poor quality.
Chipped edges, two corners bashed, scratches across the surfaces.
Basically what has been been delivered is useless and certainly not worth the cost. I would have been better off renting a saw and cutting the wood myself.

Great customer service

I've used this company before to buy wood sheets as a solid base for my sculptures. They come in all shapes and sizes and the quality is excellent. On this occasion my order didn't arrive - a delivery issue, not a supply issue - but woodsheets immediately offered to honour my order and send me replacements. The person I spoke to was apologetic (even though it wasn't the company's fault) and helpful. I would certainly recommend them for product quality and excellent customer service.

Would not recommend - Poor service and communication

After a promising start, I am extremely disappointed with the service I received.
My initial delivery was missing a piece of wood. When I reported this, the missing piece was eventually sent out, but it arrived in the wrong size - a second significant error on the same order.
To make matters worse, the replacement was packaged in the most ridiculous way I have ever seen. A massive flat cardboard box was used, but the small piece of wood wasn't even placed inside it - it was simply slotted into the outside fold of the cardboard and held on with a single strip of tape. An absurd waste of packaging that offered no protection whatsoever.
I had also forgotten to include one piece in my original order. After the missing item issue, I requested a gesture of goodwill (waiving the delivery charge on this forgotten piece), which was agreed to in exchange for writing a review.
However, when the wrong-sized replacement arrived, I contacted John again to explain the situation and requested a further gesture of goodwill given the multiple errors. Despite sending two follow-up emails - including one requesting whether delivery could be waived on one final piece I needed - John completely ignored my messages.
I ended up using another company for my last piece of wood as I had no confidence in receiving either the correct item or any response.
I would not recommend this company. While they offer a service that few others provide, the poor quality control, wasteful practices, and complete lack of communication when things go wrong make them difficult to deal with.
