I think this pen is truly beautiful. The combination of sterling silver with the brass accents is stunning, and the blue enamel on the end of the barrel is especially eye-catching. I originally thought I might choose the Victorian pattern, but the blue enamel won my heart instantly. I also really like the new screw-cap design — it feels very secure.
The writing experience is excellent. The medium nib is smooth and has a slight flex to it, enough to give a bit of natural line variation, which I really enjoy, even though it’s not designed as a flex nib. I can also reverse-write for a finer line without it feeling too scratchy. The writing feel is perfect for me.

However, the pen is not entirely perfect. I am not sure whether the ink cartridge was intentionally not included or just missing, so if you would like to write with it immediately when it arrives, I recommend having one ready. I also noticed a very small pale dot in the enamel and a tiny scratch on the brass ring around it. These details are minor and only visible up close, and I understand that this is a handmade piece, so small variations can happen.

Overall, I am still very happy with the pen. It is gorgeous and lovely to write with.

Visiting the store in London was a wonderful experience. The sales person was very welcoming and she offered me the possibility to try out the various pens and nibs. She was knowledgeable about the YOL pens, and could even tell who made a pen by looking at the hammer work :-)

I have it for old twists action ballpen i thought will fits on mine but wasn't. There was no detail about what is fits for what. I made totally wrong item. I do not want order again. 9dollors for refill 15dollors shipping and 20dollors import duty? Noway.

Happily, it is as functinally excellent as it is beautiful.
The "Fine" 18k nib is remarkably smooth and the pen flows well with Pilot Blue ink (with a touch of Vanness White Lightening added.) A costly artifact, but a joy!

Yard O Led Lucky Pencil — the quintessential English writing instrument.

For many years I have used Yard O Led pencils for note taking and sketching, and the Lucky Pencil makes a lovely addition to my small collection.

The Lucky Pencil is slightly slimmer than my original Deco 34 pencil. It is very nicely balanced: slim, lightweight, and effortless to use for extended drawing or writing sessions. The engraved barrel design is a delight and also adds a subtle grip to the square barrel. An interesting difference is the ability to completely remove the pocket clip from the new model.

The wooden presentation box is a special touch, and the leather pouch offers elegant protection.

Great staff, beautiful store...I hope it does well in these tough times for a retail pen store!

Ich habe einen Gold-Vermeil Bleistift als Geschenk für meine Freundin gekauft. Der Stift kam schnell und zuverlässig in wundervoller Qualität bei mir an. Um sicher zu gehen dass alles in Ordnung ist, habe ich den Stift einmal aus der Verpackung genommen und in Augenschein genommen. Danach ist er für mehrere Wochen wieder im Schrank verschwunden, damit das Geschenk eine Überraschung bleibt. Als ich ihn dann einige Wochen später wieder herausgeholt habe, war der Bleistift völlig oxidiert und als Geschenk unbrauchbar. Als ich Yard-O-Lead daraufhin angeschrieben habe hieß es, ich solle den Stift zurückschicken. Sie würden sich darum kümmern, da die beschriebene Qualität nicht ihren Ansprüchen genügt. Gesagt getan, Paket zur Post gebracht und mit versichertem internationalem Paketservice bei DHL losgeschickt. Da die Zustellung im Büro nicht möglich war, wurde das Paket in eine Filiale zur Abholung gebracht. Ich habe die Sendungsverfolgung an Yard-O-Lead geschickt und mehrfach nachgefragt ob der Stift angekommen ist. Darauf kam nie eine Antwort von Yard-O-Lead. Der Stift ist glücklicherweise nach einem Monat durch DHL wieder zu mir zurück gekommen und dadurch immerhin nicht verloren. Qualität und Kundenservice passen für mich absolut nicht.

Three ink bottles, all of the cardboard boxes were damaged in transport. Could have been avoided in a proper package. Products super!

A delightful shop in Piccadilly Arcade …. beautiful pens, pencils & ink - loved the Molly M wood block wallpaper, gorgeous pink.
Also enjoyed the interesting prints.
I would have liked to have seen colour samples of the inks. I will be writing my Christmas cards in Yard-o-Led ‘Passion Red’.
Didn’t realise there was an upstairs until I returned home and discovered on Instagram!
Enjoyed trying the pens.
Will definitely visit again.
