Buhoma Lodge was a wonderful place to stay! The cabins were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was delicious, our guide Joseph was fantastic and the staff were exceptional!

Staying at Buhoma Lodge was a sort of homecoming for me. I had stayed there in January 2020 on my first trip to Uganda. I enjoyed the lodge -- the comfort of its tree-house style cottages, the cordial staff, delicious cuisine and the best gin and tonics ini the world -- so much, I made returning there a must on my second trip. I was not disappointed. In fact, so many staff members are still there, it felt like a reunion. Located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, it's not unusual to see some of the wild residents of the forest visit the grounds. One morning at breakfast, I enjoyed the amusing antics of a group of L'Hoest's monkeys on nearby trees, and the bird song is enchanting. Most gorilla tracking and nature walks commence steps away from the lodge and there are lovely crafts and souvenir shops to stroll by outside the park, including the women's cooperative, Ride 4 Women. I heartily recommend a stay at Buhoma Lodge.

Simply can’t beat the location. Within walking distance of the ranger lodge to start gorilla trekking. Thomas, the lodge manager, was outstanding and very accommodating. We had an issue with our first chalet (number 8 behind the kitchen), but he quickly took care of it. Place really made you feel at home. Meals were all delicious! If you are going gorilla trekking this is THE best place to stay.
