Very Happy

I had an abi Beaumont in 2019 absolutely loved it. The layout and quality of everything was excellent, I then changed for 41 x 14 Ambleside residential spec in 2021. Another excellent home. So comfortable and cosy. Will definitely be sticking with Abi when I next change. 😊

We purchased an ABI Ambleside caravan…

We purchased an ABI Ambleside caravan in 2022, worst mistake of our lives, we asked for the caravan to be changed within the first 12 months due to to the number of defects and this was ignored.
My mum has cancer and is disabled, she cannot currently stay at the caravan as the lights in both of the toilets do not work and we have to use a torch.
ABI have sent an engineer out on so many occasions and the faults have not been fixed.
It is disgraceful to have parted with so much money and treated this way.
I have tried to contact ABI and they say I have to go through parkdean, they then send a lit to abi and nothing gets done.
Absolutely appalling, cladding is coming loose that is without the long list of issues.

I don't like writing reviews but I feel I do not have any other option.
Maybe someone from ABI will see this and contact me. I have asked for my warranties and have been given nothing.

Very Impressed

We really didn’t expect to have such detail to attention when we brought our fantastic ABI Ingleton, but the customer care team went In and checked everything over. Things we hadn’t even realised that were not 100% ourselves but they went to so much trouble, very impressed with the service given.

We purchased an ABI Windermere

We purchased an ABI Windermere, the ensuite WC was leaking and was reported through the park manager . ABI attended and said they couldnt see any leaks but the park had disconnected the water for the winter so it was impossible to see anyway.
They attended another two times and on those occassions they failed to find any leak but hadn't even switched the water on below the cistern to try flushing it.
The vanity unit end panel had blown due to water damage and they replaced the end panel only and refused to do anything further regards the WC.
Their aftercare service is disgraceful.

ABI Warranty not worth the paper it's written on!

Thank you for the prompt response.
When I've phoned ABI number I was passed through to a phone with voicemail option and that is where messages were left, it would've been preferable to speak to someone.
To dismiss my claim without viewing the defect is unfair to say the least. This same fault was discovered in my friends caravan purchased the same year. ABI's warranty is very misleading as your reply suggests the caravan is only covered in total for 3 years if it is not used.

Took ownership of my new ABI Ambleside at the end of July 2023. Had some snagging issues which were dealt with within a reasonable time. Noticed in August 2024 that there is a hairline crack on the outside of the en - suite handbasin. This was reported to our caravan park manager who duly contacted ABI. The response was that this fault is not covered by the warranty. ABI states in their warranty booklet that first 12 calendar months is covered under warranty and 'there is a further 2 year warranty' on a list of items one of which is sanitay ware. As ABI would not discuss this claim any further with our park manager I have tried to contact the warranty department at ABI, I have left messages asking to be called back but the callbacks have never happened.
Out of the first 12 months of ownership of this caravan the park has been closed for 3 months, myself and husband use it 2 weeks each month - it has never been rented out - so used in total approximately 5 months.
I believe ABI are misleading and making false statements about their warranty, so much so I will contact trading standards.

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the level of service you have received.

Our warranty does cover sanitary ware for manufacturing defects, however as the holiday home has been in use for a year we cannot determine if this is a manufacturing defect or if it is damage, which is not covered under our warranty.

If you speak to your park or dealer, they will be able to contact ourselves for a quote to replace the basin. You mention you have left messages for us to call you back regarding this issue, we don’t actually have the facilities for you to leave messages or for us to retrieve any, or we would have called you back.

Poor aftercare service. ABI have now completed the list of outstanding faults. The engineer rang me to talk through the issues and confirmed he had completed the work. He was very helpful

I purchased an ABI Westland at Swanage Bay view holiday park. I was told to report any defects which I did, involving the main door which didn't sit flush and had a gap for air (and rain water) at the bottom. Some of the cupboards needed-alignment. The loo flush mechanisms keep working loose so that water continously flows into the bowl.
Swanage Bay have twice reported to ABI caravans and twice they have given dates in August when the repairs were completed by ABI. This has not been the case and the issues are still outstanding.
Such a shame as it is a lovely caravan marred by shoddy after sales service&

Poor Aftercare Service

Since purchased an ABI Beaumont in 2019, we only had good things to say about the van and ABI, however in November 2023, we reported that we had a blown window in our patio doors expecting it be be under warranty, we reported through the correct channels, ie through the park and after chasing ABI directly myself (our park are more focused on them than their clients), I was told that it wasn't covered under warranty, despite the other 14 windows being OK, I discussed at length and their argument is that the glass is cosmetic and doesn't form part of the structure of the window, I also asked for copies of the warranty statement that declares glass in windows being 'cosmetic', for which were never sent, probably because they don't exist.

In addition to this I also asked them to get the warrant details of the glass from their supplier, this came back (they wouldn't tell me the supplier so I cannot confirm myself) as they only cover blown windows for 3 years.

So in summary ABI warranty is worthless and they must go the cheapest materials around if a supplier will only cover a double glazing unit for 3 years, whereas all the normal double glazing manufactures cover them for a minimum of 5 years, and finally to just re-iterate, the glass part of your windows in an ABI caravan are cosmetic and do form part of the overall structure of the window.

ABI Beverley disappointing

I bought an ABI 2020 Beverley Static Caravan from Chestnutts Kilkeel in January 2021. Brand new from supplier. The boiler had to be fixed first. The oven door handle fell off in no time and was replaced. Part of the lounge wall came away from the corner seam and had to be repaired. The outside door handle flaked off paint in no time. Not suitable for coastal conditions. The flakes of paint could have stuck in your hand. The patio handles going the same way. A leak in the cavity wall of the bathroom had to be repaired. The latest is the glass has blown in a bedroom window. The Warranty states that external windows are covered for 4 years. Now ABI say depending on the supplier, that blown glass is only covered for one or 3 years. No mention of this in the warranty.The bathroom radiator show signs of pitting rust as does some of the cupboard handles. I would not recommend ABI and as this was our first caravan, I should have done more in-depth research

Disgraceful after care

We purchased our Ambleside Premier in June 2023 on Angrove Park. We went through the proper procedure to report patio doors that don't close properly. We relocated our lodge to another site in January and have reported the problem again through the correct process i.e. to the park manager but a year on we've had no response and no repairs have been done. We've noticed the ceiling in the living room is also bowed so that has now been reported but I don't trust that will get sorted either. I'd tell anyone to stay clear of ABI, the after care is disgusting!!!
In response to the reply from ABI.....as mentioned in my review, it was reported a year ago through the portal and again in March this year with the serial number. As for priding yourselves on after care, it's clearly a massive issue looking at other reviews!

Dreadful aftercare

Dreadful aftercare. Bought a brand new ABI Winderemere in 2020, had problems which were sorted
by the company I purchased it through, Great Yarmouth Caravans, who ceased trading since. Have rang ABI a few times over the past year, and e mailed, in regards new problems, they say I have to report problems to my site ?????
My site says thats rubbish, so I have been stuck now for 12 months for answers. Basically both radiators in the shower rooms have rusted badly, powder coating falling off. Front patio doors are misaligned, so fixing screws on one door hit the door frame of the other door when closing. Kitchen sink tap rusting. Shower pipes rusting. They claim its stainless steel, if so a very poor grade, as a magnet sticks to it !!!!
Anyway I gave up trying to talk to them 9 months ago as kept getting the same reply regards me informing my site I am on. Cannott describe how poor they are. Would never purchase from them again.

So, it is essential we follow the correct process and the park log your claims or concerns on your behalf.

However, once a claim is logged, we attend in a very timely manner and resolve the issues as long as they are still covered by the warranty terms and conditions.

Bought our brand new Ambleside Premier…

Bought our brand new Ambleside Premier caravan around 10weeks ago via the haven site we already had a van sited on.
The workmanship in this van can only be described as appalling and extremely shoddy.
We have had ABI come out to look at the dishwasher housing as fitted wrong with big gaps either side of housing showing long screws and you can get your finger in-between the dishwasher and housing, because it is incorrectly fitted the dishwasher catches on the plinth underneath meaning this just falls off every time it’s opened. ABI have said this is Haven’s fault as they have plumbed this in but Haven are saying they don’t remove the unit to plumb as this is integrated??? So this is just left as it stands at the moment.
The extractor fan was not working in main bathroom so ABI did accept responsibility and just sent an incompetent contractor who has completely dismantled wallboard and beading in the kitchen to get to extractor fan I assume and now this cannot be switched off unless we isolate the lights in the bathroom as it now stays on constantly and the noise is now extremely loud above the kitchen units! My 16yr old could have put this wallboard back together better as he has left a large gap in the corner so now this wall doesn’t meet with the other and for some reason has put a nice big screw in the bottom of the board and this has come through the larder cupboard in the kitchen! The beading around the top no longer meets either absolutely disgusting workmanship and clearly could not give a stuff about the customers money or gave any pride in his own work.
Cooker-hood this is not fitted straight and is loose! The flue cover is not fitted correctly so gaps between that and wall making it loud and rattle when on. Again ABI have accepted this is a warranty issue and this is awaiting to be done so goodness knows how this will turn out! There is a large particles of swarf (bits of wood and silver ) behind the splash back.
Not one door or cupboard closes like it should and even the simplest of things are very poor! Tie backs on curtains not big enough so don’t stay on. A large lump is something under vinyl next to toilet. Sharp edges on wood ie bedside cabinet, shelves in bathroom.
Cracked plinth which is on order to be replaced. Light in bathroom not working, light in bedroom flickering. These have been sorted.
If I could upload images to this site I would happily.
I’d be amazed if this caravan has been checked before leaving the factory as there are so many issues here! ABI unhelpful and basically told us to go through Haven.
I am awaiting a copy of their complaints procedure as I cannot find one on the website?
Really wanted a Westwood next year but after this experience don’t think we’d buy from ABI again which is a shame as we love their models.

UPDATE
Further to this review Abi contacted us directly to ask for further information and I have to say what fantastic speedy service we have received.
Almost all our issues have been rectified with parts on order and they had one of their engineers out within two days of speaking with them! It transpired that the poor workmanship was actually down to Haven and not ABI as first thought.
Thank you ABI for restoring our faith in your products and your after sales staff particularly Andrea were amazing.

Hi, ABI UK . I am moving my 2007 ABI static on to a
section where i have it made ready with 8 supporting piles to keep the static flat, ridged. Before i move it on to this site i want to replace the kitchen, remove some of the walling and remove all the fixed, built in permanent lounge seating. This will be done at my house away from the permanent foundation. Can you confirm if it is ok to just put the end legs down at each without blocking it anywhere under the steel structure and remove all, then move it to its full supported site? .

After Sales Is Abysmal We bought our static caravan in 2020

We bought our static caravan in 2020.
We have had various issues throughout and have had to wait a long time for ABI to rectify these.
Our major concern was a problem with the electrics it kept tripping and appeared to be connected to the fridge freezer. We have lost freezer full of food on multiple occasions, the advice from the ABI engineer was ‘don’t use the freezer’!
Several weeks ago on arrival we noticed a bad smell and a pool of water by the plinth under the freezer area. When we removed the plinth there was a considerable amount of fungi growing in the caravan. It became clear that the seal outside was leaking this was causing the fridge/ freezer to trip the electrics.
Pictures were taken for evidence yet ABI say there isn’t a leak! Where they think the water and fungi is coming from I’ve no idea? They also refuse to consider paying for multiple loss of food from the freezer.
DO NOT buy from them their after sales is awful! My grandchildren can’t go to the caravan now as I am worried about the fungus growing inside.

ABI know fully well this isn’t from the freezer door being left open and that the silicone sealing outside is damaged as our site manager has stated. This is nonsense and ABI know it!

We have also advised you we believe the water has come from the freezer door not being closed correctly.

We had a faulty tap in our Harrogate…

We had a faulty tap in our Harrogate lodge and ABI responded quickly. A plumber turned up this morning and replaced the mixer tap. The plumber was called Travis and he was very professional and knowledgeable. Travis also took the time to explain what had caused the fault and advised me of what I could do to prevent it happening again.
