ABI Ingleton 13x40 2 bed

After nearly a year of owning our ABI Ingleton 13x40 2 bedroom’s things just seen to get worse. We reviewed earlier this year and was happy when ABI did visit and corrected most of the problems we had then but every time we visit for a holiday there is something else wrong it is now getting to the point that we don’t want to be here. Here are some of the problems we have had
1 joining strip in en- suite damage, Fixed
2 Mirror has scratch, not fixed
3 Second bedroom door didn’t close due to frame been pushed out buy skirting, Fixed
4 water damage to ceiling panel in second bedroom, replaced
5 water damage again this time we have water running down outside wall in wardrobe,
6 squeak in floor in kitchen, not fixed. Another Ingleton owner has same problem in the same place,
7 kitchen draw didn’t close, Fixed
8 window handle broken, Fixed
9 living area carpet cut too short, Fixed
10 kitchen window not square handle hits frame when opening and closing, not fixed
11 shower screen not sealed at bottom water leaks on to floor, partly fixed
12 bathroom sink cabinet laminate wood strip coming off, not Fixed
This is just some of the problems we are waiting for ABI to come out and look at some of the problems. Customer care really not that good and no way to phone them to to talk to it as to be through the site. My advice if you really want a ABI is to check everything before accepting it.

Not to be trusted - do not buy from them

Having bought the Static in 2021 we looked forward to some comfortable holidays after years towing a caravan. The first issue was the doors not opening correctly which we were told was down to initial siting and we should leave the static to settle for a few months. The doors were adjusted but still stick occasionally, our MAJOR CONCERN has been the failure of the gas struts to the king size bed. Salop leisure assured us we were covered under the three year warranty, however ABI had different ideas and said the parts should have failed sooner ( this information came via Salop not ABI directly ).
We were quoted to replace the gas struts and the whole bed surround a price of £280.00 plus vat.
Do warranties mean anything anymore or does the whole caravan industry treat customers with disdain once they have paid up ?
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ABI to anyone.

I am sorry to read you are unhappy with the warranty on your ABI holiday home, unfortunately as I do not know the seral number of your holiday home, I am unable to take a look at our systems for you.

Our manufacturer offers cover on the gas struts for 2 years, generally if there is a manufacturing issue with them, they have advised us they would expect this to happen, quite soon after purchase. The warranty does not cover wear and tear or misuse and dependant on the date you purchased your holiday home would determine if the warranty still applied or has expired.

As I am sure you can appreciate warranties do not last forever and they do have an expiry date, which is the same as every other holiday home manufacturer within our industry, I am sorry you feel this is a reason to distrust us.

If you feel we can help further, please speak with your park, who can come directly to us, if we need to discuss further.

I have given ABI one star as could not give it zero.
I would advise all potential buyers to avoid ABI caravans like the plague.
The after sales are a joke.
They use 3rd rate appliances which are not quality checked

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the fridge freezer in your holiday home. I would like to assure you ABI source our appliances from a leading manufacturer who have sold over 30 million different appliances throughout Europe and further a field.

The warranty on your appliance is supplied to us by the manufacturer and as such after three years, unfortunately this has expired, this would be the same situation with all caravan manufacturers, I understand that this will be disappointing and for this we do apologise.

Poor Quality

Abi St David. Paint on roof peeling off in large sheets. Laminate peeling off kitchen doors and furniture. Other Abi St Davids on our site also have badly peeled roofs, obviously the paint used was not fit for use.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your ABI St David’s roof. Unfortunately, the roof will either need to be painted or you can replace, however, to offer reassurance this is purely cosmetic and will not affect the structural integrity of the roof.

As the warranty on your holiday home has expired you would need to contact a local caravan repairer, who will be able to discuss the best options for you.

Bought a new 2022 ABI…

My Wife and I bough a new 2022 ABI Beaumont Caravan/Lodge based in Northumberland. Well over 100k, the main door seal did not seal correctly. Letting in cold air and some rain. The paint chips easy it’s covered In chips. The patio doors didn’t lock, the bath tap is thermostatic controlled, it gives out only warm water, it’s to cold to use in the winter. The main bath overflow rubber seal was twisted therefore flooded the bath. All of these were hard to detect and the site staff have been poor addressing the issue (Not ABI staff). Contacting ABI directly now. Harrision holiday staff have not acted on the issues and ABI say contact the Park staff?? Chicken and egg!

However, the ABI warranty covers manufacturing faults, not damage or wear and tear.

If your holiday home arrived to you with any chips or damage this needed to be reported to us within 72 hours.

Dampness In caravan

Bought an abi new horizon 2018 only had it a year and we have been experiencing damp smell and damp patches in living area and bedroom, every set of curtains were full of black mold ,the maintenance manager agreed that it was damp and that he couldn't fix it ,
Abi have been out twice , there first report have said its condensation although we have never had and wet windows on the second report they have said its because we put an owl on the roof that's no were near he damp patches
So after a year I'm still no further on and still have my damp caravan
Abi need to sort this

We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with the response from our Warranty Team, unfortunately if your holiday home is not ventilated adequately condensation can form, your park will be able to offer some advice on this.

Unfortunately, the fact you have screwed through your roof to secure an owl structure to the corner of your holiday home and left the screws unsealed could have a detrimental effect on your roof and the damp situation within your holiday home.

If you have any further concerns, please speak with your park who can advise you further.

POOR QUALITY

I have an ABI Malvern 2013 static caravan. When this was 5 years old the interior laminate started to blow, fortunately I was able to purchase replacements direct from ABI.
Now the covering on one side of the roof is peeling off apparently this started 2 years ago but we did not notice and is now near on completely stripped. The caravan repair company said it was sun damage.
I contacted ABI who said the replacement panels would not have any guarantee but the problem should not happen again as they have changed supplier, so does this mean the originals were not fit for purpose? How do you keep a caravan out of the sun and all surrounding caravans are in tact. I appreciate my caravan is 10 years old but experiencing problems that are not wear and tear after 5 years does seem like poor quality.

Purchased an ABI Caravan brand new

Purchased an ABI Caravan brand new in 2018. It was fitted with a Beco integrated fridge freezer. After just 4 years of limited use the fridge failed. Both ABI and Beco proved absolutely useless to help in any way to get it repaired. They just say it’s out of guarantee. !!!
Beco authorised agent condemned it as it was leaking refrigerant. The unit was in like new condition but we were forced to buy a replacement unit. Needless to say we didn’t buy Beco. We were in contact with ABI on Facebook Messenger. They promised to look into it with their warranty department but never even got back to us. For such a large company the customer service is atrocious.

ABI 2022 Ingleton 14 x 40

This is more of an updated my original post as the same title which is in the 3 stars review.
I have now regraded as 5 stars, all the jobs have now been done by ABI and the Holiday Resort and we are happy with the results, taken about 6 months to sort out and I do feel a lot of the problems should of been picked up before leaving the factory. The design and interior colours are spot on for us. Now looking forward to spending more time in it.

I just purchased a 2023 ABI Ambelside…

I just purchased a 2023 ABI Ambelside and couldn't be happier. It is built so well, even the park owner was blown away by it. As one man said to me 'it is more like a bungalow than a mobile'. So it is 10 out of 10 from us, couldn't recommend ABI enough. And also for those who are having difficulties with parts etc I would expect the dealers you got it from to sort that for you. I know for sure that Harry Farrell & Sons in Rathcoole in Dublin would sort anything I had a problem with but thankfully I have none.

Bought a 2017 beachcomber serial AB0625031590923

Bought a 2017 beachcomber ( JUST FOUND THIS REVIEW SITE 16.5.2023)
Contacted customer services for a diagram so we could ad some lights & socks on the front side as there are no sockets on this side as you go into the caravan. Very bad design. As I own a an electrical company asked for a wiring & frame construction diagram. after a few e-mails sent me a Blenheim (wrong) frame diagram and would not provide a wiring one. As an owner of 3 companies I would of expected first class service from a company who have been established for 40 years plus. Md needs to get to bottom of such bad service his company offers!

Our ABI caravan windows still in…

Our ABI caravan windows still in warranty. Gaskets in windows falling out. Haven have taken this up with ABI who have refused to make good.
'We have argued it with them but they won't budge'
Great advert for them when buyers are looking around on site for which make of caravan to buy and asking owners for advice !

Bought April 2022 fixed (well nearly but as good as it will get) by circa February 2023
Badly built over 30 faults which they eventually after getting lawyers involved were mostly fixed but some and just very poor design and the use of cheap materials.
They blame the Park Owner for not doing a proper instal.

I am sorry to hear you have had some problems with your ABI holiday home, without me having your serial number I am unable to see what issues you have had, however when our holiday homes leave our factory and start their journey to the parks things can move and require adjustment, which is why we have a team of dedicated aftersales engineers to help settle your unit once it arrives on its park.

Siting of your holiday home is one of the most important things to get correct before we rectify any issues, because if it is not correctly sited our engineers will not be able to get things sorted inside the unit.

Not fit for purpose So the season has started for 2023 and…

So the season has started for 2023 and already we are experiencing the poor fit out of our 2022 Westwood Lodge. The dishwasher is not working after only using once this season. It’s been reported and ABI tell the park it’s got to go back to manufacturer. I do hope we will not be waiting months like last year when the oven never worked from the day we took owner ship. Due to illness the Westwood was used only a few times last season, but we still had to have a new kitchen floor, new vinyl floor covering, the list went on and on. The park ended up compensating us.
We really are not up to another year of items going wrong. I’ve just used the oven which had taken 40 minutes to cook some frozen chips and I cannot hold the handle without gloves, I’ve also noticed glass missing from the inside of the grill. ABI you should be ashamed! Haven must be sick of you and your poor products. I’ll be reporting the oven tomorrow.

Poor Quality ABI Windermere

I bought a brand new ABI Windermere in March 2022 and have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it on Parkdean Morecambe, for somewhere to go and reflect, following the death of my husband. Pretty much every time I go, I end up in tears. It is so stressful having to deal with one problem after another on my own.

Doors not fitting, cupboard doors falling off, missing trims, missing light fittings, unaligned patio and side doors, damp in main bedroom, sewage smells in bathrooms, water coming out the back of the toilet, patio door handle needed replacing, broken window lock, outside joints have too much or no sealant, bubbling toilets, both shower taps broken.

All in less than a year.

I had a caravan for 25 years until 2021 with no issues and it still looked as good as it did by the end. I will be lucky if the ABI Windermere lasts 5 years.

All the issues above are the result of poor workmanship and poor quality materials; probably thrown together due to demand during lockdown.

It is more telling that ABI no longer stock this model.

I say I am devastated at wasting so much money is an understatement.

2022 ABI Ingleton 13’ x 40’

So after 11 months of owning this Ingleton I would advise people not to bother with ABI problems after problems with it, some of the first problems have been sorted but new ones just keep popping up, curtain are fading badly, water can get in through cooker hood vent, we have water marks again on the ceiling panel in the bedroom been replaced once already this is just a few of the of the new things wrong, we got the caravan for our holidays but are now not wanting to go to it as all we do is sort problems out every time. It looks like have got a problem caravan best we could hope for is a replacement, come on ABI do the right thing.

Purchased a new ABI Ingleton 14’ x 40’ 2 bedroom in November 2022, we love the layout and really like the colour scheme which we do prefer to the 2023 colour scheme.
I would like to put myself forward for a position of quality control person at the factory as the one that let our though did not have an eye for detail. I understand there is some movement when in transit and accept window, doors, cupboards doors will need adjusting after the van as settled, what I don’t understand is why it left the factory with some of these problems bedroom 2 bad marking on a ceiling board, bedroom door that would not close because the frame was been pushed out by the skirting trim been too long in the hallway, en-suite board joining strip bowing out at the bottom, scratch on mirror which had been fastened on just a bit too low and showed screw holding wood panel on to wall, no silicone along bottom of shower base were it meets the floor, Bathroom, silicone not the best finish I have seen and both toilets keeps filling. Bedroom 1 everything all good, living area and kitchen window handle faulty, kitchen draw does not fit flush with the doors stuck out about 1 1/2 cm, silicon down corner of wall finishes 60 cm short of the floor, joining trim above hall door cut too long, squeak on kitchen floor, carpet in living area a bit too short along one side. When we used the washer and it was on the spin Room radiator started leaking, glass on fire rattles, a lot of nails are used to keep trim on which is fine but a bit of silicone to cover them would of made a lot of difference instead they just stand out. We had to adjust some kitchen cupboard doors and our side door had to be adjusted which is expected. Hopefully ABI have been informed of the problems by our site team who have started to sort some of the problems and have been great so far. I do think with the amount we paid quality control and build should be better.

Bought a brand new abi ambleside in…

Bought a brand new abi ambleside in April, door is a fire hazard so difficult to open, would have no chance getting out if there was an emergency, rubbers on cooked buttons have gone inside cooker told it was west and tear , boards coming off walls, cladding dropping have had to have back window of van taken out , cladding fixed. other cladding is loose, been told back window needs to be taken out again as previous workmen dud not out it back properly , this is without a long list of repaid which they have promised to repair , absolutely disgusted and I would not recommend buying a van from them, worst service ever , whoever inspected this van to be fit for purpose should be sacked , this is only a couple of issues we still have

I purchased a residential spec…HELP

I purchased a residential spec Ambleside in November 2022.Problems listed below:
1. Front door not closing.
2. ALL windows/plus sliding patio doors - small holes in corners, can not keep any heat in van, I am frozen!
3.Flexing in interior walls.
4. Shoddy workmanship all over, pushing main bedroom carpet under wall to bathroom, have had a water leak, bedroom wet through.
5. All internal doors non fitting/cupboards etc.
6. Trims and wall corner trims flicking off on daily basis.
7.guttering leaking or not working.
8. Van drainage..I.e. put the washer on and watch it come up the shower, which overflows anyway.
9. Not fit for winter usage.
10. Customer services promise 2 week before someone will come out..that was back in November, situation now moved to urgent as there has been water leakage damaging bedroom carpet/underlay/potentially floorboards and insulation…waited now 1 month.
What I would like to add is the fact I have been stuck in this van (cost of gas/electric is eye watering as I have sat waiting all this time for the promised ‘’we will sort it out’’….would love to go home for Christmas…just like ABI can do.)for one month, waiting on their customer services promises.
I do hope they take the time to read this and move to exchange this van immediately as there is no way I am putting up with botched or this van being left to deteriorate.
I have been promised they are coming this week, yep so is Christmas, so I would like to thank ABI as an owner of just over 28 days for turning my dream new van into a living nightmare.This is a brand new van and I wish I had read the reviews before swapping my Willerby for a £73,000 defective (and it would seem I am not alone here with my experience) van from a company with no compassion and does aftersales really exist? Reason I say that is because all we are told is ‘’it’s down to scheduling teams’’.

With regards to my previous review of my problems with the ABI BEAUMONT the date should have read April 2022.
However the problem has worsened as the engineer was supposed to attend today and has cancelled yet again.!!!!!!
