This company is fraudulent. They state paintings are originals and NOT PRINTS, but I received a painting that is a print with some paint details added on top. The other painting I purchased stated it was an original, one of a kind, not a print or recreation by the gallery but they continue to sell multiple copies of the item. Meaning it is not original and it is absolutely a recreation. Do not by from them. Now that Afremov is gone his children are destroying his legacy.

Desafortunadamente, la pieza que recibí es de una calidad extremadamente baja. Llegó en un rollo proveniente de China y no es más que una mala imitación que dista mucho de lo que promocionan en su web. La pintura carece por completo de la característica técnica de espátula del autor original; en su lugar, solo se observan pegotes de óleo ordinarios y mal aplicados. Aunque adjuntan un certificado del estudio Afremov, la calidad de la tela y del trabajo es tan deficiente que ni siquiera vale la pena enmarcarla. Es evidente que, al tercerizar la producción en masa en China, la familia del autor no ejerce ningún control de calidad real sobre las obras que venden.

I ordered an original oil and worked with Boris. He was a pleasure to work with, professionally packed the painting, and quick shipped it to the US. The painting is absolutely beautiful, definitely museum quality. It is one of the highlights of my collection. As a result I purchased 3 more. Thank you

Ordered for the first time and wasn't sure what to expect. Shipping to Europe, original painting - I was a bit nervous honestly. But it arrived well within the timeframe, packed really carefully, no damage at all. The colours are much more vivid in person than on the screen. Really happy with it.

Afremov.com is owned and operated by the artist's sons in Mexico. The artist himself is deceased and was never directly involved in the selling/marketing business of Afremov.com. They sell painted recreations. They *claim* to be selling originals painted by the artist as well, but basic research suggests that is false. Their marketing is entirely designed around what are broadly recognized in the business/marketing community and academia as shady. Unclear product descriptions that mislead buyers, fake sales, fake sales timers to pressure purchases, constant spam to their mailing list, etc.

My experience comes in two transactions. First, despite my apprehension about the studio due to some of the above-mentioned marketing practices, I really love the Afremov style and wanted an actual PAINTED piece in that style. This was a way to get one, for an okay price. I knew I was buying a reproduction. So I went for it. As it turned out... it was great! The piece is super nice, zero complaints at all. I learned something interesting, though: these pieces are shipped from China. The Afremov business in Mexico has hired a Chinese studio to make their paintings. That reeks of sweatshop practices to me. The cost of labor for artists in Mexico could not have been that high, and shipping to the US would have been much closer, yet they source from China. Now, we all buy plenty of stuff from China, so it is what it is, but it's still worth noting.

I moved houses and had a big blank space in the same room where I had hung my reproduction painting. I thought... you know what, it would be nice to have a second painted piece in the same style to fill that space. So, I ordered another one. Big mistake.

The first painting came out of the box with very little smell, fully dried, no defects, nicely stretched and mounted on a thick gallery frame; this was the exact opposite of that description. The smell was overpowering because the paint was not fully dried and had been "shined" in places (for lack of a better word, pressed smooth in the packing/shipping process so it is unnaturally shiny), the frame was showing through in direct light, and the frame itself was half the thickness of the first piece. The stretching job was also not quite as good, though I will say that is a minor quibble.

I contacted support. They claimed that the frame thickness was clearly stated on their site. This is an outright lie, they do not provide any frame specifications - so, technically, they didn't break any promises either (convenient, isn't it?). I also sent pictures of the painting highlighting some of the issues. They claimed they couldn't see any issues. Okay, whatever, it was pretty obvious but I don't care at this point, I just want to return it since they're obviously not going to make it right. They say they'll send me a return label. Days, maybe a couple weeks, go by. Nothing. I contact them again. Actually I don't need to return the painting! We'll refund you in 5 business days. Cool. Except they didn't, after another two weeks. So I emailed them to let them know I'm giving them one last chance to refund and then I'm disputing the charge. I'm betting I will end up having to dispute the charge.

That tells you everything you need to know about this company. They're extremely shady and will do everything they can to stall and avoid resolving issues while keeping your money. If you also ended up in this situation, dispute the charge through whatever payment method you used. You do not have to let them keep your money. For them to do so - IF you have requested a return/refund in accordance with their return policy - is outright fraud. If you're thinking about buying, just don't. You might get lucky like I did the first time, but it's not worth the risk, and the people operating this business don't deserve any more sales.

I received 3 items from this family business. One was called "Weighted Pressure" done on canvas with oil and pallet, one which was a print on canvas called "Cat's Night Out" and a third which is called "Before the Storm" which is oil on canvas. I realize the original artist has passed away and that I have not received originals. However, that being said, I took the first two art products to get them framed and the gentleman who owns the frame shop told me that "Weighted Pressure" was an excellent purchase! I paid $350.00 for this oil on canvas and the frame owner said that after framing, it will be worth a considerable amount more. The third painting was set up to be ready to hang and is also a very nice painting with beautiful colors. The print on canvas was purchased because I am a cat lover and will look really nice between two photos that I took of my cats. I am very satisfied with the paintings I have received. This is my first time purchasing art. I am not a wealthy person so purchasing a $1,000.00 plus piece of art is unreachable by me but I am "over the moon" with my "Weighted Pressure" painting and will be proud to hang it in my Tuscany decorated dining room. I plan to purchase more from this business when I can.

Great experience overall and received my painting as expected. Has been a great addition to my home and couldn’t be happier. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in getting some fabulous art work in their home!

Artist Leonid Afremov is deceased and does not paint these despite the misleading (on purpose) claims. The STUDIO (business) is called Leonid Afremov, so when they say the paintings are originals by Leonid Afremov they mean they are originals by the Afremov studio artists, many of whom are in China or Mexico and in my experience the ones shipped are never as good as the one displayed. In some cases really much worse. I purchased several before finding this out. In this way they mislead to make you think the paintings are by the artist Leonid Afremov when they are actually by Leonid Afremov THE STUDIO. I have purchased framed paintings that came rolled up with no frame and neither Boris nor David would refund the price of the frames. I've purchased paintings that were actually painted in China and rolled up while still wet which smeared the paint. I got tired of trying to get the bad ones replaced and the frames refunded so I just gave up. If you expect originals by the ARTIST Leonid Afremov you won't get them, and what you do get will be nothing in quality like the ones pictured on the website. Beware, purchase at your own risk.

I ordered a painting on March 4, 2026. On March 27th, I contacted the company via email to find out if my order had been shipped. I got an email saying my request for information would be answered in 24 hours. That same day the company cancelled my order without notification or explanation. I sent another email to ask why the cancellation and their response was that the painting I ordered was actually 4 times more expensive than what I had paid and they could not sell it to me at that price. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This company is very slow to respond messages . 21 hours to get an email response, common ? The paintings are beautiful , but emails should be responded within the hour . I also work in e-commerce and there is no excuse for such low response time.

I directly contacted Afremov about the poor job on this painting. They promised a replacement. Month later nothing. Contacted again, no response. That's why the poor review here.
Buy your paintings from a local college and get much superior works at less cost. Afremov is just junk at an over priced rate.

The "painting" I received does even rate as a 1st year high school art student. The basic color scheme doesn't match the shown image. Mine is mostly yellow instead of the rich blue and purple in the image. Additionally, instead of the fine lines of the foreground tree and distance spots of lights, they are large distracting smudges.
If you just need something to hang, well ok. If you want something good, go to your local art college and buy one of their cheap studio pieces, then it will be artistically balanced with pleasing colors and fine work. All for the same piece while helping a local artist.

Not bad paintings for the sold price. I think its quite affordable for what it is . The shipping took a little too long. But overall not bad at all

My experience with afremov has been very pleasant so far. I ordered 5 paintings during the last 2 years. Two of them as gifts. All of them look very good. I have a recommendation for the buyers. Do not forget to add frame or stretching. I did not know about this and my first order came rolled inside a cylinder tube.
