Love the art by Leonid Afremov. I have 3 paintings in by home. All my friends always cheer me on them. I’m not an art fan , but these paintings look pretty straight forward for any home.

J'aimerais noter que la toile est esthétique – ce qui est vrai –, mais cela masquerait 90% de mes griefs légitimes, et vous pourriez me comptabiliser parmi vos « clients satisfaits » en ne retenant que cela 😊

Introduction
Après une expérience d'achat sur Afremov.com, je partage mon avis détaillé pour éclairer les futurs clients sur les réalités de cette plateforme de vente de tableaux en ligne.
Je précise que, avant de rédiger cet avis, j'ai contacté le service client, mais leurs réponses étaient souvent hors sujet et impersonnelles (point n°3).

1. Douane et frais additionnels
L'un des premiers points à considérer concerne les frais de douane. Lors de ma commande, des frais supplémentaires non mentionnés initialement ont été appliqués à la livraison : environ 37 € pour la France !
Bien que le site affirme « At Afremov.com, we stay up to date with customs regulations worldwide. To ensure a smooth shopping experience, we have established local hubs across the globe (USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Hong Kong). This means that every purchase you make with us is considered local - no additional customs duties or import fees for you ! »,
on m'a répondu que c'était à moi de me renseigner sur ces coûts, car ils n'en sont pas bénéficiaires.
Certes, mais en tant que professionnels, ils devraient connaître et informer les clients. Anticipez donc ces coûts additionnels, qui varient selon votre pays.

2. Écart entre le descriptif et le produit reçu
Le tableau reçu présentait des différences notables avec la description sur le site. Les dimensions annoncées (100 cm x 75 cm) étaient supérieures à celles reçues (60 cm x 40 cm).
Pire, l'annonce a été modifiée APRÈS mon achat ! J'ai eu la présence d'esprit de faire des captures d'écran qui le prouvent. Leur réponse a botté en touche.
Concernant la thématique, on m'avait proposé de choisir un sujet parmi ceux disponibles, mais j'ai reçu une œuvre aléatoire. Demandez des photos supplémentaires et des informations détaillées avant d'acheter.

3. Service client IA inadéquat
Le service après-vente est problématique. Les réponses semblent générées par une IA qui répond « à côté » des préoccupations réelles, sans solutions satisfaisantes ni interlocuteur humain efficace.

La seule option proposée : renvoyer le tableau à mes frais pour un remboursement de l'achat uniquement, sans les frais de douane déjà payés, laissant un déficit net.

4. Nature et authenticité des œuvres : une vraie question
Plusieurs interrogations subsistent sur les toiles vendues :
• Reproductions versus créations : les annonces ne distinguent pas clairement.
• Origines obscures : provenance floue, probablement des productions étrangères.
• Suspicion d'IA : certaines œuvres pourraient être générées ou influencées par l'intelligence artificielle, sans mention explicite.
• Certificat d'authenticité : simple fichier image imprimé, sans numéro d'identification, certification ou lieu de provenance.

5. L'héritage de Leonid Afremov : une valeur compromise
L'héritage artistique de Leonid Afremov semble dilué par des pratiques commerciales de masse gérées par les héritiers.
Pour un investissement ou une valeur future, révisez vos attentes : ces productions massives offrent peu de perspectives d'appréciation sur le marché de l'art. Achetez pour l'esthétique, pas pour l'histoire ou la valeur patrimoniale.

Recommandation : achetez en connaissance de cause
Achetez chez Afremov.com uniquement pour une décoration esthétique, non comme investissement. Soyez attentif aux descriptions, prenez des preuves et anticipez les frais de douane.
À retenir :
• Considérez ces achats comme décoration temporaire, pas comme œuvres d'investissement.
• N'espérez pas de valorisation future.
• Acceptez les incertitudes sur l'authenticité et l'origine.
• Anticipez un service client décevant et des frais imprévus.
• Vérifiez minutieusement avant achat.

The customer service team is quick and friendly, the product is fantastic and I am content with my purchase.

Artwork was promoted extremely deceptively. Website cites listing "oil paintings by Leonid Afremov". They are in fact reproductions from art students. Which is apparently buried in some fine print. With fake "sales" and deals. This was fraudulent as far as I am concerned.

This is a SCAM. A TOTAL RIPOFF! BEWARE!

Ich liebe es, selbst Malen nach Zahlen zu machen. Ich habe Bilder von vielen verschiedenen Künstlern gemalt. Aber die Kunst von Leonid Afremov hat es mir besonders angetan. Ich habe bereits 12 Malen-nach-Zahlen-Bilder bei afremov.com bestellt. Alle kamen aus China, aber das ist ok. Ich glaube nicht, dass jemand außer den Chinesen solche Produkte herstellt.

Vorrei evidenziare il grosso errore di una recensione che ho letto, che dice che il sito Afremov spaccia per originali dei quadri falsi. Sul loro sito è scritto molto chiaramente che hanno sia dipinti originali, che riproduzioni realizzate da loro artisti di fiducia e i prezzi sono rispettivamente per differenti. Non mi sembra giusto calunniare senza ragione. Io ho ordinato una riproduzione molto ben fatta, a olio realizzata con la spatola. Per errore mio non ho ordinato subito anche il telaio e loro mi hanno rispedito a loro spese quadro più telaio incorniciato. Sono stai dei signori, ti seguono e ti forniscono dei numeri di cellulare a cui propri scrivere in ogni momento su WhatsApp. Non mi sono mai sentita abbandonata e amo molto il mio quadro. I wanted a custom painting for a picture I took on my trips, they did a wonderful job, it took a little longer but they sent pictures and I was able to change some things and they keep doing changes until I was completely satisfied with the result. They were very profesional and I love the painting, I would order another custom painting in the future.

I just received my order and I’m very surprised by the quality, it’s beautiful and it was worth the wait.

The painting I received originally was not up to my expectations. I did leave a less positive initial review due to the quality of the painting I ordered.

However, I really appreciate the level of effort in correcting this mistake. I am happy with the support I received from the team. I did not ask for a refund as I really wanted to be able to love the painting I ordered. Leonid Afremov's work is very beautiful and I wanted to be happy and proud that I have a share of it. Boris ensured we arrived at that outcome in the end.
I am now able to say I am happy to put this painting on the wall and enjoy it forever.

I have paintings that are supposedly originals that I bought years ago, and also a copy authorized by the company. They look great, and even the copy looks pretty good. Not as good as the "originals", but not bad. I recently ordered what afremov.com advertised as actual originals. I received 2 paintings that looked like they were done by a 3rd grader, along with "certificates of authenticity" that were a joke. Paint was still wet! I contacted them, and was asked to send pics. I did. Then I got an email saying "Oh, you got the wrong thing by mistake." ????? They said they would send the real deal. After waiting, I was told "you will get them by this date....." Never got them. STAY AWAY! This is now a total scam. Not from some odd web site - but from afremov.com, with address in Mexico (where they are actually based). They should be ashamed for dishonoring the artist and his work.

They responded to Trustpilot, which requested more info.

Your reply to Trustpilot says:
All paintings sold as originals on our site are 100% hand-painted with oils on canvas, created based on Leonid’s original techniques, and shipped stretched and ready to hang or rolled sends on your ordere (YOUR misspelling and poor grammar).

"BASED ON". Notice the original email states they are 100% hand-painted by Leonid, and signed by him". No "BASED ON" garbage as you now try to say.
I have ALL original emails I can forward to you, or to Trustpilot. Just give me an email address, and I can send them all.

Are you trying to tell us all now, that there is an EXACT duplicate of your site? That does not happen. There cannot be two "afremov.com" sites.
Websites cannot have the exact same "web address" or domain name. While a domain name and IP address can be associated, they are distinct. Domain names, like "example.com", are registered and managed by a central system to ensure uniqueness. Two different sites cannot have the same domain name because it would lead to conflicts in how the internet routes traffic.

I am calling you a liar, still trying to pretend you know nothing about this.

Again, your original email Mar 16th CLEARLY STATED:

So don't talk to me about "carefully reading descriptions" on your site or other such nonsense.
You FLAT-OUT stated these were painted by Leonid Afremov. ORIGINALS. Not copies. Not "reproductions". So quit lying.

You stated on your latest reply:
"Once a chargeback is filed, we are unable to proceed with resending items under PayPal’s policy."
Then explain why you lied and said in email 4/8/2025:
"I am sorry
The wrong painting was delivered
Today I will send you the correct one"
TODAY. April 8th! You said.

Then, on April 9th, you emailed:
"We going to ship correct paintings today
No need to return copies"
Of course no need, because you knew they were GARBAGE!

Then, on April 21st, you emailed again saying "The order will be delivered by April 23"
HOW were you going to get the order to me in TWO days, if it had not already been shipped???
More lies, and you knew it. You know it!

If yo want to sell paintings that are "reproductions", or "based on", or whatever - that would be fine.
But you are stating they are originals:

FLAT-OUT LIES!!! And you know it. You are deliberately ripping people off, and it needs to stop.

You did NOT try to "resolve the matter in good faith". You just decided to not ship anything, and hoped I'd just forget it when I found out you had NOT shipped anything, even though you repeatedly said you HAD done so (NOT "were going to....")
You dishonor your father's work and memory. What you say now means nothing.

Living in a remote part of Canada, snowy days often keep me stuck indoors and it can get pretty lonely. One day, feeling a bit blue, I saw an ad on Facebook featuring colorful paintings. A painting of a sailing boat immediately caught my eye; it felt so warm and full of life. I ordered it, and ten days later, it arrived. I hung it above the chimney as a reminder that true warmth comes from the heart and that winter never lasts forever.

I ordered 2 paintings as a gifts. My friends loved the paintings. The gift was very special . The delivery took less than one week to Australia which is very good .

My experience as not bad but it was also not wow. My order took almost 3 weeks to be delivered with the free shipping option. Their customer service took longer than 10 hours to respond to each email I sent.

I loved the painting I have received . However, the delivery took almost 3 weeks to the UK. The delivery company never contacted me. The package was simply thrown at my porch.

Mate , these paintings amaze me. I ordered copy by Afremov studio . It was well made and cost me less than AUD 200. Loved the shipping from Hong Kong, it took only 3 days for us far way Aussies.

Having this consequence on losing AU$325 for a painting that I cannot proudly hang in my living room, I feel that others should know before taking this purchasing risk.

I still have not received a refund or return label from Afremov studios since I reported my great disappointment to the first finished product, asked for a return & refund on the 20st February. I also asked them to cancel the second order at the same time.
I ordered ‘Sailing to the Shore’ oil painting, fully framed on the 31st January
Then I ordered another small painting on the 12th February meant for my daughter 30th birthday.

The first order arrived, my heart dropped. It does not closely match to Leonid’s original painting. I understand that Afremov does the reproduction of Leonid’s painting BUT the painting skills and colour palette is far off the mark, far from to the likeness of Leonid’s skills. Their website claims that their entire artists are trained to do the reproducing. But no. their skills are on par with art schools & art students.

Second order arrived on 3 March! Another disappointment, they advertised it ‘on special’ that the canvas are ready stretched instead of being rolled. It arrived as rolled in cling wrap. I emailed them again that second order arrived after I request it to be cancelled on the 20th February . I asked for return label so that both painting can be returned to them . 5th march I got refund for small painting only but still no refund for big painting , still no return label. Communication stopped from there.
In total I lost AU325. It is a huge amount to me as I don’t earn much.

I am giving them a 3 star. Reason for that is: you will get a real oil painting on canvas. You will receive the reproduced product. First communication is good but then it wanders to no-reply later.

I am not giving them fourth or fifth star. The reproduced paintings does not closely match to the picture as advertised on their marketing webpage. You may receive a small amount refund for small paintings but you will not get refund for bigger painting. It seems that they reply saying that they will send you the return label in order to “water down” your disappointment or requests.
Postage from them starts from China instead of Mexico.

You are better off buying oil paintings in person from your nearest art local gallery

In December, I left a negative review regarding the failure to receive the certificate of authenticity, to which the company publicly responded, promising a quick resolution. However, despite this response, four months have passed, and I have received nothing. No one has followed up via email, as they had promised.

This shows a serious lack of reliability and customer care. If you're considering a purchase, keep in mind that their after-sales service may not be as trustworthy as they claim.

Ho sempre amato l'arte di Leonid Afremov. Ho risparmiato e ne ho ordinata una copia. Il dipinto è fantastico. Ma i dazi doganali erano molto elevati. Mi sento derubato dal governo.
