The Appliance Shop offered highly valued help and advice regarding makes and models. They held our purchased item in store until our fitter was ready to collect; a very efficient operation.

I chose this company because of the help and advice they gave me, I am very happy with sales. I ordered a Tumble Dryer from them and received it by 9.30am next day, great service.

Disappointing customer service
When I ordered a chimney cooker hood, a delivery date of 9 December was given. No updates were provided, and it was only after I chased that I was informed the delivery would actually be on 12 December.

This delay meant my fitter was unable to inspect the appliance before Christmas due to his schedule. When he eventually did, it turned out to be the wrong model and needed to be returned.

While this was not the retailer’s fault, the delay pushed the issue outside the 14-day returns window, and the return was refused. I accept this in principle and its unfortunate this also took place over the Christmas period.

The retailer does sell the correct hood I required, so I contacted them to request a possible exchange. This would have resolved the issue while retaining the sale. Instead, all responses came from a generic “Customer Service Manager” and consisted solely of repeated references to the returns policy, with no attempt to offer a reasonable solution.

This experience demonstrated an inflexible, policy-driven approach to customer service, with no willingness to engage constructively when a straightforward resolution was available.

I ordered my other appliances from another company and I wish I had done the same for this particular appliance. Fitting a new kitchen is stressful and issues often arise that are out of your control. And if you order from this company, they will be completely inflexible when these issues inevitably arise, and as demonstrated in their response, will be stubborn and inflexible with their policies.

Company kept me informed every step of the way delivery turn up on time the machine is great will definitely be buying next appliance from this company thank you for your service.

Bought a cooker to be delivered before Christmas called me up hours later to tell me it wasn’t in stock and offered me a different one more expensive I had been looking previously at the cooker they offered so asked if they price matched they wouldn’t woman was rude and kept repeating my manager has told me to get off the phone we are going round in circles do you want to pay more for this cooker or refund I asked for a refund to purchase the cooker elsewhere cheaper and delivered sooner She told me she processed refund and should be with me in 3-5 days still awaiting refund! Currently working with my bank to get them to process refund! Luckily I have managed to get the “more expensive” cooker from a reputable company and delivered next day all for £80 cheaper!

I’m not going to mention the name of the reputable company as you already had my honest review removed for mentioning it and it is not the ones you state in your reply fact is you left me without over £500 of my own funds over Christmas not worth risking in my opinion when other company’s can actually deliver what’s being advertised on time and cheaper

Needed a dryer so went to the appliance shop. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Purchased and collected there and then as they had it in stock. Even helped me load my car. 🙂

My oven packed in, went in store knowing I'm cutting it close for Christmas, the sales staff in store gave me a great choice of available options within my budget and I'm all sorted for Christmas!!

I needed an integrated fridge, and had quite a specific size range so my choices were limited. I spoke to a lady at appliance shop who was very helpful sending me links to fridges that would fit. Then when the fridge was delivered the delivery man who was very pleasant brought it right into the kitchen. Very happy with my experience of the appliance shop.

Be warned! I ordered a single oven that showed as in stock and booked delivery for 18 December — crucial timing before Christmas. After payment, I was told the next day that they couldn’t honour the delivery date and could only deliver in the New Year. Completely unacceptable.
They then suggested a more expensive alternative, which I couldn’t accept due to incorrect sizing. When I asked them to meet their contractual obligations, they simply replied that they had processed a refund — which, of course, may take up to two weeks to reach my account.
When I later bought an oven elsewhere and explained why I’d had to drive to Liverpool to collect it myself, the salesperson immediately guessed it was Appliance Shop Morecambe who had taken my money for an item that wasn’t actually in stock. They said this happens regularly with customers who come to them after being let down by time-slipped deliveries.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if a retailer cannot supply goods as advertised and within the agreed timeframe, the customer is entitled to a full refund or a like-for-like replacement at no additional cost. While they’ve met the bare legal minimum, the way they handled the situation was, frankly, unethical. Poor attitude and poor practice.

I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service I’ve received regarding a serious fault with my oven. The appliance failed due to a software update that damaged the internal PCB — an issue that clearly relates to the product’s own design, not misuse.

Despite explaining this multiple times, the company repeatedly replied with the same copy-and-paste message, completely ignoring the actual details of the fault. Rather than investigating or offering any meaningful support, they simply refused responsibility because the issue occurred outside the manufacturer’s warranty, even though my rights under consumer law extend well beyond that.

The lack of engagement, refusal to provide a proper explanation, and unwillingness to resolve the matter has left me with no choice but to escalate the issue to the ombudsman.

Very poor service, and I would strongly caution others about the level of support you can expect if something goes wrong.
