So I'm 69, with age-related hearing loss. Have NHS hearing aids but they only offer behind-the-ear. Decided to go private for in-ear ones. Checked out a couple of companies in the Norwich area, including Hidden Hearing.

I should have been alerted in their store where a lady asked me what she could do for me, and when I said I wanted to know what services they offered, she looked at me like I was some kind of idiot, and looked around the reception as if to say, look, we do hearing stuff. I explained in more detail my issue, and she said the receptionist would book me in for a hearing test when she was done with the customer she was talking to.

When I finally got to the receptionist she was a young girl who didn't seem to know how to use whatever system she was looking at. She had to ask me all my details two or three times, kept inputting the wrong information, long waits, took about 10 mins to book me in a simple date for the hearing test. The vibe I got from the whole place felt very unprofessional.

A few days later a work commitment came up which meant I wouldn't be able to make the appointment, which was still two weeks away. I called Hidden Hearing's Norwich office on the number the receptionist had given me. I said I needed to cancel the appointment and as it was getting near to Christmas, I'd call again in the New Year to rebook. The girl/lady who answered said it was all cancelled, and I thought that was that.

A couple of days later I got a text reminding me of my appointment. Then I got another one. They were 'no reply' texts so I couldn't respond, and wasn't going to waste money calling them again to tell them what I'd already told them. Then I got a card in the post reminding me about my appointment. Then I got three phone calls on my mobile from an 0800 number, which I never answer if I don't recognise the number. One went through to voicemail, it was Hidden Hearing.

At this point their chasing became really annoying. I blocked the number, then got a call from another number, which on searching online turned out to be Hidden Hearing again. I blocked that number too.

That was about a week ago, and I was hoping that when we went past the original appointment date, their harassing calls would fizzle out. If that had been the case, I had no plans to come on here and leave a review, good or bad. However, today I got two more random calls from numbers I didn't recognise, one an 0800 number, and a local Norwich 01603 number. Turned out to be Hidden Hearing again.

In all I must have now received about seven or eight calls and/or texts from Hidden Hearing, from different phone numbers, over the last two weeks. Each time I block one, the company uses another one. Hidden Hearing are beginning to feel like sharks.

If I were charitable I'd say the person who should have cancelled the appointment when I phoned, simply forgot to log it. But the way they have been pestering me since, leads me to feel they will stop at nothing to get me back into their office for a hearing test. Hearing aids are apparently very lucrative business, at up to £6k a pair.

In my opinion this company have no respect for customer privacy and it seems to me that once they have your details they will stop at nothing to get their claws into you.

Oh, in the end I walked up the road and booked an appointment with another company, who were the epitome of politeness, efficiency and customer focus.

Others may have a different experience with Hidden Hearing, but based on my experience I'd avoid them like the plague.

I have just been back for my second waxing removal at hidden hearing in Norwich and saw Diane again I definitely recommend and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. She’s friendly, makes you feel so at ease

Excellent service, friendly, caring & professional at all times. Always a warm friendly welcome from Faye & superb treatment from Diane. Their micro-suction ear treatment is the most advanced as a camera is used in your ears so Diane could see deep into my ears including my ear drums enabling her to clean them thoroughly unlike some other ear care centres who do not have this equipment. I am writing this review about my Mums experience with Hidden Hearing, Norwich. A lovely man, Jeremy, came to her home as she has great difficulty leaving the house. He confirmed that she had a large build up of wax, he arranged with the most helpful and caring Faye for this to be dealt with. A couple of weeks later Faye returned with Diane who removed the wax, such a kind lady. An appointment was arranged for Jeremy and Faye for 31st October for a hearing test and to fit new hearing aids if possible.
This was possible and Mum has now asked me to do this review for her. She is so happy that her hearing is so much better and cannot praise all the staff enough.
On a personal note I would like to thank Jeremy, Diane and Faye for their help. Mum was treated with the utmost respect, kindness and care and for me it is unbelievable and wonderful that my Mum can hear my voice properly again. We are all looking forward to fantastic family Christmas.

I saw Jerry Eldridge at Hidden Hearing Norwich. My husband and I found him to be very friendly, helpful and informative. He clearly explained all the options available to me, without any pressure to commit. I will definitely contact them again when it’s time for me to renew my hearing aids.

I was 'persuaded' to go to Hidden Hearing in Norwich on a recommendation of the company that my wife was given. For some time I was aware that I didn't always hear everything clearly but just thought it was a combination of getting older and potentially wax build up.
I booked an appointment and saw Jerry who was absolutely brilliant. He explained everything and gave me a through hearing test, which I failed spectacularly! He then fitted me with some hearing aids to try and even took me outside and walked around me while talking. It was like going back 20-years and I could hear everything crystal clear again.
I've since been back twice while Jerry altered the aids to fit better and also to update the program in them for music and films. As usual I got a lovely greeting from Faye before going in to see Jerry, which is a nice way to start any appointment.
Overall, I can't recommend them enough, thank you.

Used the branch that comes to sheringham twice a month. Felt I need a removal, after speaking with Diane she confirmed this very informative and professional. Will definitely use again.

Fitted me in at short notice for ear wax removal. Was about to go on holiday and had booked with another person for the previous day but they had to cancel.

Fay the receptionist was very friendly and helpful both
when I rang and in person instore. Saw Diane Dorr who was friendly, professional and thorough. She removed a large and difficult blockage and I left with clear hearing in both ears.

After trying several establishments for ear wax removal. The service and advice I received was fantastic. I would definitely recommend the service.

Am incredibly impressed by Hidden Hearing Norwich’s Ear Care nurse Diane Dorr. She has taken immense time and professionalism with my issues and cleans not only the ear canal (as one would expect) but the ear drum itself. This required two sessions but the difference has been quite amazing. Most practitioners just use micro suction on the canal but never approach the ear drum. People may think themselves more deaf than they are when in reality what is needed is the most sophisticated of equipment and an absolute professional like Mrs. Dorr. Cannot thank her and Hidden Hearing enough.

Visited the Norwich centre for an ear wax removal appointment on Monday. Seen by the practitioner on time, the whole process was informative, helpful and friendly and made me feel (and hear) so much better.
Would recommend without hesitation.

Diane was very friendly and happy to chat about my experience with hearing and tinnitus. During the earwax removal treatment she took frequent timeouts to ask me how I was feeling. I felt I was in expert hands. I would definitely return if necessary. It’s great to hear high frequency sounds again!

I didn't know about this place until I walked past it with my partner in Norwich. I've had blocked ears for a few weeks now, and she jokingly said that I could go and get my ears sorted. The two other companies that I knew about who offered microsuction had told me they had a 3 week and 6 week waiting list, so I had already booked in on the 3 week waiting list. My ears had got worse and I had been putting drops in for a couple of weeks so I thought there was no harm enquiring with Hidden Hearing. They were welcoming and helpful from the offset, and said they could actually do it there and then. Obviously I jumped at the chance and booked in for an appointment with ear care practitioner Diane.

Diane informed me of exactly how the procedure worked, made sure I was comfortable and off we went. She was professional throughout and regularly asked if I was ok during the procedure. Overall I was incredibly pleased with the experience, and the results were great as well.

The procedure was slightly more expensive than I was quoted elsewhere, by about £15, but I would happily pay the extra to cut out the 3 weeks waiting time. I was also informed that Hidden Hearing use equipment which allows them to clean a little bit more effectively than some other companies.

One piece of advice I would offer is to check in with Hidden Hearing first. They actually said that the drops my GP had recommended can sometimes make microsuction slightly more messy, complicated, and can sometimes require a second visit. The second visit is included in the £70 if they're unable to remove it all first time round, but definitely worth speaking to them before you self treat.

Overall fantastic treatment, and fantastic results. Would highly recommend
