Garrett conducted assessment for my son…
Garrett conducted assessment for my son and he was very calm, polite and pleasant. It wasn’t the easiest task to get my son to cooperate but he has found a way and it worked! Professional approach and such a lovely warm and calm approach. Highly recommend.
2nd part of assessment was conducted by Katherine and she was lovely, very detailed in questions and explained things well. She was polite and very patient as I struggled to understand some questions. Again, highly recommend!

Welcoming manner
I really liked Jo who spoke to me. She made me feel at ease which helped me greatly to be as truthful and open as I could. She was both welcoming and professional in her manner. Talking to someone about possible autism symptoms and general private matters is hard. Throughout the 15 minutes she gave time to listen to me. There was no judgement and no sense of rushing me through the questions asked. I really appreciated this especially as it has taken me a long time to enquire whether I am on the spectrum or not. Staff are super friendly and respectful. As well as supper understanding and helpful.
They take the time to listen to you and don't rush. And this is the kind of service that is needed when trying to get a diagnosis for autism.

Screening with Jo
I was screened by Joanna Gillham. The 15 minute appointments are very tight even though the screening is a quick process. An extra 5 minutes would go a long way. Jo was very friendly and efficient. She stayed in the call with me an extra moment as I’d mentioned I had a few questions about the process. The queries she could not answer, she said she would raise it to the team so that someone could get back to me. When I received my screening results email, those answers were included in the email. Thank you to Jo for her time and help.

Disappointing experience from Autism…
Disappointing experience from Autism Detect. I paid for an initial screening to decide whether it would be beneficial to ahead with a full assessment or not. I strongly suspect I do and the person that did it was 15 mins which was stressful. No communication to say they would be late, no apology for being late and they didnt seem at all friendly or compassionate, it felt like they were reading off a script and didnt actually feel autism friendly at all.
I was told the answers to my questions indicated I had autism and that a report would be sent to me and a link to a booking link. This has still not turned up and no timeline was given. Very disappointing and again not autism friendly to be leaving people hanging without knowing what's happening!

A really positive experience…
A really positive experience throughout, and the team really went out of their way to help me by sending materials overseas for me, as well as making sure I received my results quickly as I was under time pressure. The clinician I dealt with, Phyllis, was lovely, and aside from the outcome, the entire experience was very productive for me and is going to lead to a lot of positive change. A special thank you to Laura for being incredibly efficient and helpful during a stressful time.
