Poor customer service, takes many attempts to get through on the phone. I was waiting for glasses and after 2 weeks called them (4 attempts) finally I was told 'oh yes they are here, don't know why you were not called'
This is on the back of dreadful service when I was in the shop. They really don't care

Very friendly staff

Went to Yardley, Birmingham, Boots Opticians and was seen by the Optometrist Sabrina for the second time. She advised me to see her after 6 months or before if my condition worsens. Sabrina is going to refer me to Dudley Road Hospital for laser treatment as my vision is quite blurred. She assured me that the appointment will be given by the next 4 months. She was quite friendly and helpful. Same goes for Jess and Rose, who were very pleasant and helpful.

Went into a Boots store at the end of June. My husband had an eye test and ordered a pair of glasses. When we went to collect the glasses the prescription was incorrect. This then got corrected after a wait. However still waiting for the advantage card points - the opticians state that I have to contact customer services and customer services states have to go to the store, No one wants to help.

Professional and personable eye test attended at Boots Opticians with Trainee Rafi on 3rd Sept. Very thorough and comprehensive with any questions raised, explained to me in detail. I felt both reassured and confident on completion and would highly recommend.

Manners of Staff and of assessments are EXCEPTIONALLY-GOOD.
I deem to have had BEST IMAGINABLE AID at eyes'-test, & choosing of spectacles ,- although room got very busy with lots of customers.
All-in-all : a goodly experience !

After some excellent customer experiences from Boots for a couple of emergency optical appointments in the last couple of years, I have decided to use them for my regular optician examinations and dispensing. I have found a lovely, helpful and friendly atmosphere from all at the Street practice. I felt the optometrist, Claire, gave me a thorough and careful examination, and spent time discussing results with me and ensuring I understood everything. Lucy, the dispensing practitioner, was ever so helpful and patient in explaining all the options and worked with me to identify suitable frames which would sit well with my hearing aids. I have no hesitancy in recommending this practice.

Abysmal management and a complete waste of money. My family and I had four separate, consecutive timeslots allocated, yet the entire process was chaotic, rushed, and utterly disorganized. Despite paying an extra £50 premium per person, they failed to deliver a proper, conclusive suite of eye tests. We were constantly pushed around, given fewer tests than had two years ago, and overcharged for a severely downgraded service. I am profoundly disappointed. I would only recommend this place to people I dislike.

Visited Doncaster Boots Optician due to the screw being missing , Amber was professional and polite and fixed my glasses within minutes .

Unfortunately, my last set of contact lenses weren't delivered and as I was going on holiday, I phoned Castle Street, Norwich to ask if they could help. Kaitlin told me she would get back to me with an answer but never did. I phoned back and spoke to someone else who gave me a number to call. I spoke to a lovely man called Darren (general enquiries) who confirmed that my lenses hadn't been delivered and urgently ordered me a new set. We were unsure as to whether these would arrive on time so he suggested I phoned the store to see if they could help. I spoke to Kaitlin again who said (that despite it not being my fault) she wouldn't be able to provide me with any and I should wear my glasses. As this wasn't the most helpful response, I called the Castle Mall and spoke to a lovely lady called Charlotte who said she could squeeze me in on Tuesday morning. I turned up to my appointment where the optician had the new set of lenses with my prescription waiting for me. So a huge thanks to Darren, Charlotte and the lovely optician! Not quite sure what to say about Kaitlin! Unfortunately, this is the second time I have come across her rudeness. It's a shame because Carly and Chloe (both at Castle Street) couldn't be more helpful every time we go in.

I have to say that the staff at Boots opticians in Oldham town centre, are absolutely amazing!
They are professional and caring and go above and beyond in helping!
From the management team to the advisors, to the opticians and technicians, I genuinely appreciate them and their expertise and support.
In particular I’m going to give a shout out to Sonia, I cannot thank her enough! Patient, professional, caring and friendly!

We were dealt with politely and efficiently. The staff very helpful.

This is an incredibly efficient place the opticians are passionate about eyes and the technology that is used for the eyetest. The service is spot on and it’s why I return there although I might leave a longer gap between appointments than I should.

Fabulous staff who are always so welcoming and friendly, and the service is impeccable.

The staff at Hereford branch were so welcoming. Everyone was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Special mentions for Abbie, Chrissy, Naheed and Emily.
At every stage of the test staff tell you exactly what they’re doing and why.
They even go above and beyond when I run out of energy and patience to choose frames. They bring them to me and give honest opinions on the frames.

I had an appointment at Boots opticians in West bridgford Nottingham on 21st August2026.I was informed by the opticians that I had cataracts in my eyes so failed my eye test for driving and I had to stop driving till my eyes were treated.I told the optician that this was bad news for me as I rely on my car because my wife is disabled and she said I could maybe get my eyes sorted quickly as they tend to look at people who need to use there car.The following week I was trying to find out if my referral from the opticians had gone through but couldn't find anything out so on the 27th I phoned up the opticians to see if I could have the referral letter to pass on to my doctor and they said they will pass the message on.As I never heard anything I phoned again on the 28th.Both times I phoned I had to ring a few times because nobody answered the phone.On the 28th when I eventually got through on the phone again I was told they would pass the message on.Later in the afternoon i phoned up my doctors who told me I needed a eye test result for them to refer me.I took the eye test results to my doctors so I thought all is good but as it was a bank holiday that weekend I realised nothing would be done till the Tuesday 1st September.I got a phone call from my doctors who told me they keep ringing Boots but no one would answer the phone and asked me to try and get the form GOS 18.My friend was at my house and said he would take to Boots to get the form.When I got to Boots the receptionist didn't know what the form was and would ask the optician what it was and when she came back to me she made the excuse that she didn't know the form went up to 18.When the optician was ready to see me she said she had to write it out but had to put drops into another patient and would do it after.She had already took my details so I then had to wait for her to fill the form in and print it off.Ithen went back to my doctors who the receptionist had told me the doctors secretary was dealing with it and phoned her up as the secretary was upstairs and she would come down to get the form so I now expect to hear something from the referral.
If I hadn't tried to get the referral form I have no idea how long I would have to wait for my referral. Boots opticians knew that if I could get a quick referral it would help me but I was into my second week of waiting.A form that only took 5 minutes to fill in and they never tried to help me out.Thank you Boots what a waste of time.

When choosing new glasses, Sarah in Falkirk was most helpful and courteous. She was polite and efficient.
