Up until recently
Up until recently, I THOUGHT??? I had a good handle on my purchases and promo balances. That is no longer the case. I've spent hours typing to live chat + direct calls to make payments and request that they be allocated to specific purchases but when I look at my account online there's a balance of over $600 more than what I think I owe. Every time I do a live chat, I get the same response. They have access to see the payment I made BUT it wasn't allocated correctly so it continues to accrue interest I guess. I've been around and around so much, repeating myself, that I'm about to go crazy. All I want to do is pay off the 2 current promo balances and be done with CC! They still see over $640 due for promos that were not paid within the deferred time frame BUT this is incorrect. I've paid every promo off in time to avoid interest except for one which I paid on 6/7/25 and yet they still show interest due on it. Original charge $1319.08. When I called 6/7/25, I was told that charge + accrued interest was $1889.80. My son had used the card for his dog and was unable to make the promo date of 4/29/25 so............interest was accrued. Dang I sure wish I'd have paid it off for him in time but regardless, I did on 6/7/25. I have 2 current promos for 2025 totaling $910.00, I will pay those off within the next couple of days and no longer have anything to do with CC.

This company lowered my credit like the day after the card was issued. Every time i make a payment, they lower my credit line to below the balance due! They are uncaring and defraud the public by capitalizing off the grief of We The People. I hope the CEO’s dog dies the same way my cat did…..waiting for this messed up company to give a ****! Bankrupt this corrupt company and use a visa with a better interest rate. These jackoffs charge over 30%!

I called because I had a promotional purchase plan and I payed a vet bill which I tried to pay on-line but the system took my payment and paid the promotional plan in full. The customer service representative, was an ill man that said his piece and I said okay now fix the problem, he wanted to repeat and lecture me over and over again with the same thing he already said. He kept on telljng me go learn manners, as if I was calling to put up with his moods. He was a bit confused about the purpose of his job, so instead of being nice and saying I'll get this sorted for you, he was arguing with me because I refused to listen the same thing over and over again so I told him who was paying his wages and requested assistance in Spanish, then that lady was amazing, fixed the problem right away without being rude.
Absolutely horrible experience
Absolutely horrible. I used this card to get my dog spayed as well as hernial repairs. It was $1100. My limit was $2,000. I got my card paid down to $800, and my dog also needed an infected broken tooth removed so we schedule it. I go to pay after the procedure and they denied it saying insufficient funds. CareCredit dumped my credit limit to what was still owed, never notified me, and I had to use rent money to pay for her procedure because they do not take payments at the vet. They absolutely screwed me, I got late fees and many more issues thanks to this. I keep paying it off, I wanted to be able to still have the $800 in case of emergency. Well after months of me paying early, and over the minimum payment, they randomly decided to close my account altogether. I only knew because I got an alert from credit karma that one of my account was closed. They closed my account because my PayPal account was in bad standing even though this one wasn’t. (My PayPal got hacked and it was a whole ordeal, I stopped paying because they refused to fix the fraud on my account) and because they are both synchrony accounts they closed my CareCredit because of my PayPal. I can’t even log in to pay, I have to call and pay it off. I am going to because I can’t take anymore hits on my credit but I will never go with anything synchrony ever again. I can understand canceling frivolous credit cards for non-necessities, but this card is specifically for health care / pet care. And they cancel it without a care in the world even if you pay perfectly. PayPal is my only account in bad standing all the rest are perfect. This company pretends they want to help you in a time of need but they pray on you knowing you’re in an awful spot. They love to make our lives harder and it’s evil honestly. I will never do any business with synchrony and frankly this company should be shut down entirely. Thanks for ruining my credit even though I was paying you early and over my minimum. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM!

I have been with CareCredit for several years and have always paid on time. They just cancelled my account without notice because they mistakenly tried to pull a payment from the wrong account. When I saw that the payment didn’t go through I immediately called and made a payment over the phone. I went to access my account via the app this morning and received a message telling me to call customer service as my account was closed. When I spoke with the rep I was told that it was closed due to a returned payment. She asked if I had received a letter and I said I have not. This is bad business. The rep told me I could reapply and I stated “Why would I do that when you are conducting bad business”. I am lodging a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as the FTC. I am also contacting Synchrony Bank and lodging a complaint with them. I am also considering contacting an attorney and inquiring about any legal avenues that may be available. I would suggest that anyone on here or anyone who has or have had dealings with this scam company do the same. Maybe we can save others from this predatory scam company.

The fact you did not provide a notice regarding the interest free period was about to expire says a lot about this company and the people who make decisions. Its pure greed vs. the “carecredit” name you chose to promote!

Customer for 8 years. Always made my payments. Paid off my account in full and they closed the account giving me a hit on my credit report. They only want your interest payments! Ironically I was about to open a high yield savings account with Synchrony. NEVER will give my business to Synchrony or Care Credit ever again.

The customer rep, Patricia, was absolutely rude, unprofessional, mocked me as I asked questions and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, she said to call back. WWWOOOWWW !!!! That's the level of customer service your company is providing / paying for ??

Deceptive practices they're doing to customers. Ruining their credit scores, dropping limits without notice on accounts that are paid on time and doing it regularly just to make the usage percent higher which has a negative impact on users credit score. Deceptive practice to try and get user to pay off balance quicker. They do this the day before your next statement closes so you have no chance to pay down the balance because this is when they report to the credit bureaus so it shows they're doing this on purpose. I hope an attorney gets wind of this and files a class action lawsuit.

Es una compañia que tiene su parte oscura para robarle dinero a las personas. Te cobran el interes total y aparte te cobra interes mensual sobre interes ya agregado. El gobierno deberia de investigar muy bien este tipo de negocio que ellos hacen que aparenta limpio pero es un fraude Aun que hagas tu pago al dia buscan excusas para cobrarte el late fees. Ellos nunca pierden son unos ladrones. Y si te envian el bill a tu email cobran 1.99 y se lo envian a tu casa 2.50. Que opinion positiva hay en esta compañia.
Don’t use care credit
Don’t use care credit, they ruin your credit score. I had this for my dogs after all the scamming vets took my savings of 150k in vet bills and I had no choice to apply for credit. Yes 150k btw 3 years of vet taking biopsy, over and over, X-rays and mri each vet claiming they can’t use other vets mri and X-rays. So I got this card and used it to pay for more vet bills. Finally I decided all the vets within the 3 states around me were daf so I decided to go to Ohio about 1000 miles. Anyways they cured my dog saying I was being ripped off by other vets. Now I was out of debt so I paid off the card. A few years later they just closed out my card without my consent. So they bring down your credit during initial application then if you don’t use it often they close your account again bringing down your credit. Just get a regular credit card. Not to mention the interest rate for this is higher as well and not many provider accept care credit.
Not Caring At All
I've been a Care Credit customer for years. I've never missed a payment and almost always paid off promotional purchases before they expired. In the past year, my senior dog has been ill and has needed several surgeries, so I have maxed the card out several times. A few weeks ago I made a payment of $1,000, and Care Credit rewarded me by actually lowering my available credit by that much. They may talk about how caring they are, but in the end they are actually just another credit card company.

Big scam do not fall for it.
In Apr I had a balance of $1467.51 that was taking forever it seemed to pay off. They charged you an interest fee and a card security fee. Even though I was making double the payments, it seemed like I wasn't even making a dent. So in April, I decided to pay a $1000 towards the card. Imagine my surprise when I opened up my account in may to cede my balance as $1445.38. They put $952.28 towards interest $23.60 card security and $1.99 towardsstatements fee. Only$22.13 went towards my balance. When I called thinking it was a mistake they told me it wasn't. That if I wanted the $952.28. I had to $493.10 or they would leave it as is. Please trust me when I say these people are evil. I only was given 12 hours to make my decision. Do not fall for this.

I couldn't believe it until it happened to us.. My wife used care credit for our dogs. We owed 1,400 on 6 month no interest financing if paid in full within 6 months. We always made our payments on time and was never ever late. Our balance was 1,000 dollars so we paid it in full. Right afterwards, they closed our account for no reason at all. They did this most likely so you would be forced to re-apply and ding your credit scores. We will never use them again. Everyone should boycott these sharks....

They are awful. They are predatory. They charge interest on money you have already paid. Beware of the deferred interest scam. You will pay interest on what you've already ready paid. Avoid this at all costs. There are plenty of sub prime credit suppliers that can be expensive to use, but this company is way worse than any of them.
The worst company ever
The worst company ever. I didn't know I could change my payment date, so I was a day or two late on a couple of my payments so they closed my account. Once your account is closed you can't open a new one ever again. If I could choose no stars I would. I was on the phone for hours and the kept sending me to different people. They couldn't even tell me that I will not ever be accepted.I had to figure it out for myself. The letters just told me I was already excepted so I can't re-apply.
Corrupt company!
MASSIVE RIPOFF COMPANY as of Recently.
I've been with CareCredit since 2017, and NEVER had a concern over improper billing until now. All my promotional purchases offset interest being charged on my account. I've also made incidental minor purchases over the years that did not fall under a promotional purchase amount requirement and was once again never charged interest on the account.
Within the past six months the rules have all changed, without notice and the customer service representative fasley states its always been this way. As long as I'm under promotional purchases, it was not.
I pay more in interest than I do on the principal balance.
Steer clear of this company. What once was a good idea and their intentions were good, they are no longer that company.
