auto renew costlier than manual
I was sent an auto renew notice for my car hire excess insurance. The cost for my full year had gone up slightly like last years did. Again, like last year, I checked out the price of a new policy and again, like last year, it was less expensive than the renewal quote with the added advantage that I could ‘delay’ the start of the policy a month or so as I’m not going away until a month after the renewal date.
Hmm. I thought that new customers were now not allowed to get better deals than loyal renewers?!?

We can see the new quote was obtained through MSE, which is a comparison site. Unfortunately, any discounts applied through comparison sites are outside of our control.
Our renewal offer does include an internal discount, making the policy cheaper than a new business quote obtained directly through our website.

A straight forward site and process to get insured against excess payment and other sundry items. It did not automatically pick up the MSE discount code the first time I tried to pursue a quote, which is why I docked a star on the rating.

Highly recommend this company
Highly recommend this company. Unfortunately I had damage to a rental car. The whole process took less than 2 weeks to get sorted. I was then expecting my insurance to go sky high but there was a very small increase which you expect annually

In terms of purchasing the policy via the website - the prices are very competitive - it is clearly laid out as to what is included and what isn't. And finally it was a straightforward non-intrusive process to fill in the forms - quick and easy.

Haven't had a claim yet so difficult to say how they've done yet. Easy to open account which was expected, we'll see how it goes as we're not looking forward to having to make a claim, which we have never had to do at all in the past. G
