What a very special day
What a very special day! We were made to feel quite special - greeted at the carriage (a bit like the orient express!). Lovely food and exceptional ride! Perfect!!

Well organised
Well organised, and compared with a number of other volunteer railways the buildings and rolling stock were in really good order. We had a delay because some customers had forgotten to order food, and we had to wait for them to get something locally, so darkness feel before we could see much of the scenery. It mattered little because passengers around us were very friendly.

A steam journey for dinner
Booking was easy except when we had to ask for it to be rearranged due heat wave..NO..After a meeting of staff we were able to arrange another day hence we have had one of the most enjoyable days todate. The food was excellent and staff also made the day. Well done to all. The MPower was steam and that was a bonus for my son. He had never gone backwards before due to a failure of pwer to go up the incline, and we were then treated to a express start. Well done the engine crew.
My wife's concern was no blinds although they had been fitted previously, perhaps a visit to a "blind" shop... All together it was GREAT.

Thank you for your lovely review. We’re delighted that, after rearranging your visit, you had such an enjoyable day and that you particularly enjoyed the steam experience and the efforts of our engine crew. We’re also pleased to hear that you found the food excellent and our staff welcoming. We appreciate your comments regarding the blinds and will certainly pass this on to the relevant team. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Kind regards

We were a party of four but one…
We were a party of four but one finished work late and thought he would not make it and the seven o’clock train did not leave on time actually twenty minutes late 😢

Resposta da Churnet Valley Railway (1992) PLC
Thank you for your review. We’re sorry that one member of your party was unable to make the train as expected.
Our trains are scheduled to depart at the advertised time, and unfortunately we cannot hold a train for passengers who are running late. If a departure is delayed, this would normally be due to an unforeseen operational or safety reason, which is something we cannot predict in advance.
We appreciate that the 20-minute delay may have given your party some hope that the train could be held, but unfortunately we are not able to delay the departure specifically for an individual passenger.
We’re sorry that this affected your group and hope you were still able to enjoy the experience.
Kind regards
Debbie

Parking was OK, plenty of spaces, although a few more disabled spaces would be good.

A lovely evening starting with a top class fish and chip supper. Staff were great, atmosphere great but next time I would choose a day trip so that I could also enjoy the beautiful Staffordshire scenery.
