Crimestoppers Northern Ireland...What is this part of the island really all about? I called this time about an ongoing drug addict who was at the centre of targeting neighbours by harassment; the male responder immediately started hyjacking our opening dialogue when I called to report once more, deliberately misinterpreting my points, twisting them into something I tried to make clearer to him, though he was attempting to form a basis to scuttle my complaint, his tone loud and overbearing, probably another accent listener that precipitated a hasty end to our phone call, and that's where he slammed the phone down on my American tone, something I've had to get used to in NI. Clearly a tactician who was more suited to the: 'no can't do mentality' of a boot camp culture, than a helpful, impartial, focused mindset of one UK,s administering units: is this what we have as an effective impartial service to help those in need of a good night's sleep without some drugged idiot screaming, banging furniture, 'a no can't do mentality' seems intrinsically followng the trickster's tactics these days. Where does this negativity mentality come from in NI?

Absolutely useless same as the police reported a car being drove around with out any mot best thing is the car has kids in. Reported over 2 week ago and still nothing. Even reported to police who I see r regularly and nothing. Waste of time reporting things to these and Police because they don't care.

I ‘anonymously’ reported police officers to crimestoppers Police Anti Corruption and Abuse reporting service, but days later 2 officers came to my house to speak to me. I can’t believe this Total shambles is allowed to happen when it comes to crime.

DONT RING THESE if u want to report a crime! they are worse than the police!!!! the 1st thing they ask for is your full name. dont want to give it, u get well i carnt talk to u then & hang up. u call back because u know it needs reporting u give a false name & they say 'i dont beleve u' hello i just want to report a crime with out giving personal info thank u.. oh stuff it! let it keep happening.. no1 cares.. why should i??

People who work on the phone lines should be trained in interpersonal skills. I called to report cuckooing, which involved a frail elderly lady with learning disabilities who was living in council sheltered accommodation. Her flat has been taken over by a woman and two young men, and she is sleeping on friends' couches. I was asked why didn't she change the locks? Did I see the drugs on people calling at night? Why didn't she inform the landlord? I was frequently interrupted with so many absurd questions, and then he put the phone down on me. This charity is not fit for its purpose!

This organization is not fit for purpose.I have called them on a few occasions about drugdealing in last 7 years and about 20 years ago about another matter.Call handlers are always aggressive,dismissive,hostile,obstructive,sceptical etc etc and hangup if you wish to officially complain.I said a dealer used to deal from a road known for drugdealing and moved nextdoor to me,but still dealt at the old area.The woman said very accusingly,no they can't be they don't have access to that address.The dealing was not from a house,but near a railway.For all she knew they could still have access to the old address anyway through for example a former flatmate.They are totally unmotivated,zero effort time watchers who are annoyed you interrupted them and forced them to do anything for their pay. Absolutely disgusting travesty of a helpline.

My wife and I witnessed an act of car vandalism by a neighbour, and we thought that Crimesoppers would be the best way of reporting it, so I sent 2 emails and gave them a link in case they needed more information, but I had no further communication from either.
As I was concerned about this incident, I made a complaint to the police, and they confirmed that they had not received any information about the incident from Crimestoppers.
When I made a complaint to Crimestoppers, they responded as follows "because of our guarantee of anonymity, we can neither confirm nor deny whether we received and subsequently disseminated information"
It is fine to use anonymity to protect people giving information, but to use it when they may not have passed information onto the police brings their whole purpose into question.

i called to report a dating site that gay men are using to share intimate photos of their wives with other users. i called crimestoppers. the person i spoke to was interrupting the whole time. it was frustrating. she kept insisting there was nothing she could do because she needed names and addresses....not just a website. i have a physical address for the website....but we didn't get that far because she went on a power trip and hung up. astonishing.

A waste of time and effort - maybe they’ll wait until someone is killed before they stop drunk drivers.

A waste of time, and a waste of money. I cannot believe how much this charity has gone downhill. I was constantly interrupted by a member of staff who wasn't listening to a word I was saying, or interested in the slightest. An utter shambles!

Absolutely useless.. I reported an issue maybe 5 or 6 times and nothing was done as the person is still driving and working without certain things. Totally useless

Such a rubbish service! After a super long waiting, a guy picked up the phone. Rude, unprofessional and useless! Don't waste your time calling them. What they do is they suggest you call 101, 999 or your local council. That's it!

worst experience of my life. 4 people ahead of me. waited 40 minutes just to be randomly cut off. the uk and these charity organisations are a fat joke. where do all the donations go? definitely not to call centres

Used Crime stoppers several times to report drug use crimes in my area anonymously, only for nothing to happen.

The page used to report drug crimes is pathetic, it goes into where you think they are growing, what vehicles they use, what security measures they have but nothing on spots they are dealing or how long they are staying there for.

Normally it's good to use it to get the police to patrol that area more, but I don't think things get passed on as they should.

I believe they are several decades out of date as even the police have a better reporting page for drug use, however Crime Stoppers is the only one I know of that you can do it anonymously without the whole neighbourhood knowing who is reporting it.

Poor, they're not interested. Criminals win again.

kid riding motorbike no helmet only balaclava in a park full of kids, then nearly ran me over. reported to crimestopper, never encountered more arrogant hate fuelled disinterested. they started raising voice at me, asked to speak to manager, they called me beliverant and hung up - 2 separate narcissists -so it is endemic in this "charity". worse than Virgin for customer. service. this "charity" needs to go. all they do is say call the police!

I reported a incident last week 27th February 26, in regards to a father beating his daughter, the same guy been reported many times for drink driving to crimestopers with his wife who are both around 80 years old absolutely nothing gets done. Even with cctv evidence nothing, report it to mhs housing again nothing, so there saying it's OK to assault you're daughter and drink in drive in medway not fit for purpose

Don’t bother! Reported a car parked illegally on the road without a valid MOT three times. The car’s still there! Says it all about the ineffectiveness of this organisation.
