No Good
Extremely disappointed with this system and the customer service.
We have had this system for a year, since building our new home, and it has been nothing but constant problems. It wastes an unbelievable amount of water, and despite reaching out to the company several times, we still do not have a solution.
They have sent us replacement parts with no instructions and no technician to install them. When we asked how to wire one of the parts, they sent us a picture showing it wired incorrectly. Then, when it didn’t work properly, we were told it was wired wrong—which was based on the incorrect instructions/picture they had provided us.
We have repeatedly asked for a technician to come out because, while the system is currently running, it is wasting a TON of water into our yard. We are also going through approximately two bags of salt every two weeks, which is clearly not right.
After an entire year of dealing with this, we still have not received a proper resolution. We have been patient, contacted them multiple times, and done everything we have been asked to do, but the same issues continue.
A system that is supposed to make things easier has instead been a constant headache, costing us unnecessary water and salt while we continue trying to get someone to actually diagnose and fix the problem. After a year, we should not still be troubleshooting a system that was installed in our brand-new home.

Hi Monica,
We understand why such a lengthy troubleshooting process has been frustrating. After reviewing the complete history, however, I also want to clarify that the initial membrane restriction was not diagnosed as a failure of the RO system itself.
The system initially operated without the pretreatment recommended for the incoming well water. The raw feedwater was subsequently reported at approximately 41 grains per gallon of hardness, an extremely significant level of hardness, and laboratory testing identified silica and other scale-forming conditions. Without proper pretreatment, water with this level of complexity can rapidly foul an RO membrane, restrict purified-water production, increase concentrate flow, and require more frequent softener regeneration.
Once those conditions were identified, Crystal Quest provided the recommended silica-dosing equipment and a replacement membrane at no charge other than shipping. We also sent Kevin to your property at our expense to work alongside your plumber and evaluate the system onsite. That diagnostic could not be completed because the pump required replacement, so we subsequently provided a replacement pump and motor, along with the necessary fittings and check valve, at no charge. Our team has also spent considerable time providing phone and remote troubleshooting throughout this process.
We recognize that one replacement shipment required additional fittings and that a later representative’s departure contributed to an unfortunate lapse in communication. We sincerely regret those service gaps. At the same time, the documented history does not indicate that the RO system itself was responsible for every issue encountered, particularly the initial membrane fouling that was consistent with scaling from the untreated feedwater.
The latest flow readings still deserve a proper evaluation. Our team remains prepared to review the feed pressure, membrane and concentrate-flow settings, recirculation, silica-dosing operation, and softener programming with you through the existing support channels.
Furthermore, I will personally push this forward internally so that we can resume the evaluation without further unnecessary delay. A senior member of our team should be in contact with you tomorrow to coordinate or move this forward to resolution.
I want to emphasize that none of this is intended to minimize your experience or frustration. I understand why the pace and repeated troubleshooting have been disappointing, and I sincerely apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you have had so far. We remain committed to identifying the remaining issue and working toward a satisfactory resolution, and we hope you will give us the opportunity to complete that process.

After 1 year when I went to replace the filter in my Bath Ball I had a very difficult time as calcium had fused the ball together. Thankfully after 36 hours of soaking it in vinegar I was able to open the bath ball.

20 gallons a day...not 400
I purchased the 400 Gallon per day unit. I have, from a previous system, several prefilters in place. 2 stainless steel mesh filters for sediments and a 5 micron 4.5 x 20 inch coconut carbon filter. From there, the 400 GPD crystal quest system receives the prefiltered water.
After running for 1 day, I am getting approximately 20 to 30 gallons of filtered water. Nowhere near 400. I contacted the company right away and they said they would have a technician "look into it". I haven't received any additional information since then despite reaching back out to them for a status update.
At this point I could not, in any way, recommend this product.

We’re sorry for the low production you experienced and that our initial troubleshooting did not move your case toward a timely resolution. We understand how frustrating it is to have a newly installed system producing so little water.
Based on the details you provided, the system initially operated at a much higher production rate before declining sharply. That pattern can have several possible causes, including a condition affecting membrane performance, and we want to identify the underlying issue rather than assume the system is simply incapable of producing at its rated capacity.
We have escalated your case, and our VP of Sales has already reached out directly. As outlined in his email, we will provide a complimentary replacement membrane and work with you to monitor the system’s production afterward and find a resolution. If the output begins declining again, we will help determine whether feedwater conditions or additional pretreatment may be contributing.
We apologize that this was not resolved more quickly and appreciate the opportunity to work through it with you.

When connected to water all 3 cartridges were leaking terribly. The o rings for all 3 cartridges were wrong installed, not in the grove.

I’ve been installing crystal quest systems since 2016 and love them. They are pricy but worth it. I’ve even had them create custom filter media for the specific contaminants in a water sample that they tested.
