Totally useless customer service this site is worthy of a complaint to Fair Go

Wish I did my research on this company before I order from them. I buy a bed set for my daughter on 30th November it say bed was to be delivered today Monday the 12th 2022 all now I have not have a update on when and what time my order will arrive I try calling the number I found on Google it ring then say my call cannot be accepted to call back later I have been wassapin wowcher on the wassap they say to contact them on but they are useless they take so long to respond and each time it's the same oh same oh I'm so angry and disappointed because the bed was to go in my daughter newly decorated room she like the bed and it was her birthday on the 6th December that's why I order it.
I will never order fr wowcher again
Now I lost my hard earn cash in these hard times and received no bed. 😡😡😡

dealsdirect.nz seems to be a SCAM SITE!!! Warn everyone you know on any social media accounts you have, that many have had bad dealings with this online platform. They seem to be mimicking a genuine company called dealsdirect.co.nz which is a legitimate site. We paid $176 to this platform and have received nothing and they won't answer emails or phone calls. We are going to report them to the Ombudsman and the Commerce Commission. I will change this review if they meet their obligations and complete the contract they have agreed to. I am sending this review to them. I have proof of the transaction and of correspondence I sent them. If they do not meet their obligation to me they have committed the crime of stealing. The Ombudsman and Commerce Commission and the Police need to investigate this and give them heavy penalties if they find them guilty. If anyone is in the same position as us then report them so they can be taken down if necessary.
To find the site which monitors scams on the internet in NZ put NZ govt internet scam site into Google and you will find some good information.

Buying, selling, or donating goods online. If you paid by credit card apply to your bank for a charge back. They may refund your money if you have evidence you didn't receive the goods.

Scammers are opportunistic and always looking for ways to exploit New Zealanders’ uptake in online shopping, and this was reflected in the busy holiday season.

This quarter, CERT NZ continued to see many reports of scams about websites operating from overseas that pretend to be legitimate New Zealand-based businesses.

A common example involves scammers outside of New Zealand setting up an e-commerce website using a .nz website address and advertising well-known or expensive products at reduced prices, like popular shoe brands. When people make purchases from the website, they end up receiving a lesser product, a different product or in some cases, nothing at all.

When a .nz website is identified as a scam site, CERT NZ contacts the Domain Name Commission and the hosting provider, with a request for it to be taken down. In some cases, CERT NZ also reports the website to the Financial Markets Authority to issue a warning.

Don't recommend buying anything off deals direct. They are useless with customers service and don't try to help with their faulty products. expensive ones at that! They make you try to pay for everything when they sold faulty products

If I could rate 0 stars I would... Bought 2 items, been over a month with no reply from any emails or message left on number, going to consumer tribuneral to complain about company. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I bought a stainless steel charcoal barbeque yesterday and arrived today….it was on sale and i have no problem about it….excellent service by Deals Direct….will definitely deal with this company again….thank you!

Ordered a pair of shoes in September 2022. The shoes did not fit, were narrow so a larger size still wouldnt fit and made of cheap plastic. I sent them back to the address on the website 10A REGAN STREET STRATFORD Taranaki NZ 4332 as stated on the website for returns and within the 30 day return period. It has been a month and a half and I have had no response to emails or phone messages about the product. How does a company like this continue to get away with operating lije this in NZ?????? They sell through Shopify so maybe they will shut them down??

We purchased a 6 x 3 size gazebo from Deals Direct store in East Tamaki. We opened the box and unpacked the frame and then the gazebo cover which was sitting under the frame. When we unfolded the gazebo cover we noticed that there were tears in the covers and so we called the supplier straight away. They said no we had used a box cutter and the damage to the cover was obviously eone by us so therefore it was our fault so they couldn't (or should I say ... wouldn't) do anything about it. Not even a replacement. We told them that we used a pair of scissors not a boxcutter and when we opened the box it was the frame that was on top the cover was sitting underneath that. They denied it was there responsibility and told us they weren't going to do anything about it. We went into the store and the guys there said sorry we only do exchanges monday to friday. My partner returned on the Monday and the guy he spoke to on that day said - nope its been cut and it's to be fixed by us. There was no waynwe couldve damaged it when it was sittinf under the gazebo frame. They have such poor customer service and blame the customer. Will not be purchasing off them ever again. Wish i had read the reviews before buying. We've learnt our lesson to do our homework and read reviews before buying off people like this. They are dodgy, dishonest businessman and I hope one day they get shut down. Reading past reviews they're horrible people.

Bought a chainsaw and the throttle jams at full revs. Video sent to Deals Direct and they forwarded it to the supplier. Sent a video back of how to pull it apart to repair it. Come on !!!!! Its only done 50 minutes work and been like that since new. They wont stand by any warranty. Stay clear of this company

Took ages to arrive, sent wrong adaptor, zero response to tickets AVOID

This review is for the company with web address dealsdirect.co.nz with branches in East Tamaki and Christchurch New Zealand.
We purchased two gaming chairs in Sep 2021. Within six months the back broke off one chair and is breaking off the second. Mike offered to replace the broken back on one chair but refused to accept a return for refund. He claimed that the chairs were outside warranty, but DD never listed or stated a warranty period on the chairs. I reminded DD of the Consumer Guarantees Act but they refused to listen. The Consumer Guarantees Act works in addition to any warranty, in short it establishes consumer rights if a product should fail too soon even if it is outside the warranty period. In this case there was no warranty period stated and you wouldn't expect chairs to fail within six months of purchasing them. It also gives consumers the right to reject goods that fail in a significant manner. In this case the back breaking off one chair completely and in the process of breaking on a second identical chair is significant and potentially unsafe.
Mike also claimed I assembled the chairs incorrectly, but the part that broke was assembled at the factory. It failed where a metal bracket was bolted to a piece of chipboard. The chipboard used is not suitable for the purpose it is being used for.
Mike also claimed his supplier would not refund his money, that might be true but it is irrelevant, it does not impact the consumer's right to a product suitable for its intended purpose.
I took DD to Disputes Tribunal and won. DD was supposed to refund the money by today 21 June 2022. That hasn't happened.
Update July 28, 2022. Deals Direct has still not paid. When I spoke to Mike on the phone his response was to tell me to f*** off. We have applied for enforcement action and according to the bailiff Deals Direct tried denying they had received a copy of the judgement. I know this to be untrue since I've emailed a copy to them several times with friendly advice that we would be taking enforcement action and it would add a significant amount to their debt.
The bailiff has reported that DD only wants to pay the original judgement and not the enforcement fees. Unfortunately for DD this is not optional. I communicated with DD very clearly and often regarding their obligation to pay and the consequences if they did not. I communicated this to them numerous times prior to taking enforcement action. They appear to be stalling with an attitude that the laws regarding consumer rights do not apply to them. Likewise I have no hesitation to continue to pursue enforcement action against them.

I ordered a wall climbing car on 8 March, and the money was taken from my account. When it never showed up I have tried emailing and calling on numerous occasions and three months later there is still no word from them in response and no sign of the item ever having been shipped to me. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. They are crooks.

Ordered a 4 kw inverter 11 December 2021 and paid $525 received a reply that payment was received and order was placed.
After numerous emails to dealsdirect. nz there has been no communication from them.
Reckon I have been ripped.

I ordered an inkbird thermometer 2 months ago. The money has been taken from my account and I have since had no correspondence informing me where my product is. The tracking link is not allocated to a package.
Nobody answers the phone, Nobody replies to emails. 100% rip off

I have a similar issue to Chris B, I ordered two items from what I believed to be a NZ company on 27 January, after three weeks of no information I messaged to cancel my order and request a refund, no response. Several emails followed with still no response, also the phone number given on the site is not manned. Finally I got a tracking number for China, and a few weeks later the items arrived. The items were just awful and not fit for purpose, I immediately parcelled them back up and returned them for a refund. Here followed many more emails without response, finally a quite upitty email from someone called ‘John’ saying I had already been informed my items did not qualify for a refund but in this case I would get a credit. I pointed out I had had no such message and his was the first from the company in nearly two months. I advised him nothing had been tried on and the sizing was so off it would not fit a child, again pointing out the items were not fit for purpose and should qualify a refund. However in this instance I said I would accept a credit just to put an end to the matter and for him to please advise when it had been processed…. three weeks later and more emails nothing!
Dealdirect.nz and clearly an onseller for the likes of Aliexpress or similar and had I wished to order from an off shore company I would have done so directly. I believe they are acting in a dishonest manner and riding off the back of Dealsdirect.co.nz, who have a banner on their home page distancing themselves from these people. Surely it is time for #Trading Standards to take a look at Dealsdirect.nz

I purchased a Solar Inverter from an NZ company for quick delivery, but it had not arrived after several days. I had been checking the tracking, but the link was invalid and said it was a Canadian tracking number. I have telephoned and emailed the company several times but they do not answer.
After a week the tracking link then showed a dispatch from China that is not due for another two weeks. I am really annoyed as I needed this for my Christmas holiday and if I wanted to order from China I could have done that myself for a cheaper price. Very upsetting.
The story goes on - The inverter finally arrived - after 5 weeks. I installed it and it ran for 10 minutes and then popped my 300 Amp breaker. I was only drawing 120 Amps at 12V (1.4kw on a 3kw/10kw inverter) Now the start up sets off an alarm and looks like it is short circuiting with no AC output. I have tried to contact by email and telephone and still no reply.

Is there anyone near Stanford who could see if they can find a John Pickford at 10A Regan Street?

The plot thickens - looks like Dealsdirect.nz are relying on customers thinking they are part of Deals Direct .co.nz in Auckland.
The .co.nz company have a banner on their website saying:
Important: Our website address is Dealsdirect.co.nz. We have no connection with Dealsdirect.nz whatsoever.
I have spoken to .co.nz on the phone today and they say they have no association to dealsdirect.nz who are probably a foreign entity....

Purchased 2 items from this site, one turned up but wasn't as described the other more expensive item hasn't arrived after nearly 7 weeks. The phone number provided is only an answering machine service which claims they will call back, they haven't. One email was answered with statement that my order would be transferred to their customer services but nothing has happened & other emails haven't been responded to at all. I suggest not to trust this website 'dealsdirect.nz' even though it has a padlock on the address bar. Note this is not the same website as 'dealsdirect.co.nz'

When I ordered I thought this company was New Zealand based but the package was sent from Canada which annoyed me because I ended up using the wrong courier address for the order. New Zealand mail uses different addresses for domestic and international couriers and I gave them the domestic address instead of the international address. So I'm wondering if Ill ever see my order!!
