Destify Was Completely Useless When Anything Went Wrong
If everything goes perfectly, maybe Destify is fine. The moment anything goes wrong—especially within 14 days before or after the wedding—you are completely on your own.
Our experience was unacceptable, heartless, and rigidly bureaucratic during what was a family medical emergency.
ROOM CHANGES REFUSED DESPITE EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES
A room had been fully paid for and reserved by the groom’s 93-year-old grandfather. Forty-eight hours before travel, he broke his hip and required surgery and could not attend the wedding. The hotel itself said they were willing to change the occupant name—but Destify had to request it.
We asked Destify to simply change the occupant name on the paid room to the best man, who is also the grandfather’s grandson and had a mix-up with his own room and had nowhere to stay.
Destify refused.
Their reasons:
• “Company policy: no changes can be made from 15 days through the wedding.”
• “We would have to speak directly to the original occupant.”
This was impossible because:
• He was literally undergoing surgery and recovering from a broken hip.
• I held legal power of attorney and offered to fax or email it.
Destify’s response?
• “We don’t have a fax machine.”
• “Emailing it wouldn’t matter.”
• “Company policy—no changes.”
• “We still have to talk to the original occupant.”
NO COMPASSION. NO FLEXIBILITY. NO PROBLEM-SOLVING!
BEST MAN LEFT WITHOUT A ROOM
When we asked Destify to help find any room for the best man because the hotel was now full, they again repeated:
“Company policy—no changes can be made.”
THE RESULT?
• The paid room stayed empty for the entire week
• The best man slept on a regular sofa (not a sofa bed) and still paid the same amount as if he had a room
REFUND REFUSED
We then asked for the grandfather’s money to be refunded since the room went unused due to a medical emergency.
Again:
• “Company policy”
• “We need to talk to the original occupant”
They eventually did speak to him—and still refused the refund.
TRANSPORTATION FAILURES
Transportation arranged and paid for through Destify was another disaster:
• The bride and groom were never picked up before the wedding
• They were also not dropped off at the airport afterward
• The bride’s parents were never picked up from the airport
When the bride’s parents called Destify after waiting, they were repeatedly told transportation was “coming any minute.” After an hour, they gave up and took a cab.
Final Thoughts:
These are only the issues I personally knew about. I can only imagine what other guests dealt with that we never even heard about.
Destify hides behind “company policy” instead of helping real people during real emergencies. No advocacy, no coordination, no accountability—just scripted responses and indifference.
I would never recommend Destify to anyone planning a destination wedding. When you need help the most, they simply disappear.

**Honest Review of My Destify Booking Experience** December 2025
We booked our stay through the Destify website because our daughter used them to coordinate her wedding. Unfortunately, our experience with the booking process was far from smooth.
I originally reserved a standard two‑queen room for seven days. When I later shortened the stay to four days, I was told those rooms were suddenly no longer available. This was surprising, especially since the hotel had only been open since June 2025 and was at roughly 50% capacity when we arrived. Destify informed me back in August that the only option left was a preferred ocean‑view room. Since we needed to be there for our daughter’s wedding, I had no choice but to upgrade.
I ended up paying **$3.8k for just three nights** in a room category I didn’t need. To make matters worse, because the reservation was made through Destify, I earned **zero hotel loyalty points**—a disappointing outcome for a stay at a five‑star resort at that price point.
The transportation situation was another issue. Destify sold us shared shuttle service, collected the payment, and then when we arrived in Aruba, the shuttle company told us they *do not offer shared service at all*. We had to pay $65 cash for a taxi with no receipt and no way to recover that cost. Despite reaching out to Destify for a refund for the shuttle service I paid for, I still haven’t received any response.
On top of that, when it came to booking restaurant or spa reservations, Destify had no additional information to offer. They simply directed us to an email address that is not monitored regularly, which made planning extremely frustrating.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend using this wedding website. You’re far better off **booking directly with the hotel** to earn your points, receive accurate information, and avoid the miscommunication and added expenses we encountered.

Destify offers a price match option. I typically use another app for my hotel reservations. I sent a screenshot of that app’s price as directed on the Destify website. The whole process was seamless and simple. It was easy to RSVP and make the hotel reservation. I made a price match request and Helen, Destify guest experience representative, gave me a great offer! I requested a price match to the rate I found on the resort website, which was offering a cyber holiday deal/sale. The resort website offered a non-refundable, full payment, no changes or cancellations allowed rate and Helen was able to offer me an alternative, very reasonably priced, flexible rate. The rate that Helen offered did not require upfront payment, and I can modify or cancel in the future. Overall, I am very pleased and highly recommend Destify.
