Let down for the second time in a month…

For the second time in a month I have been really let down by their support team. It is really atrocious - be prepared to go days with a broken site search if you use Doofinder.

On this occasion the search bar stopped working because I had apparently exhausted my quota - the app told me I was on the free plan despite being a $61 / month paid user and they cut off the search functionality.

I contacted support but all I got were messages (likely AI) telling me someone was looking into it. This really isn't a difficult issue to solve - it's an obvious error on Doofinder's side. But it has been left over 24 hours now, during which time we've spent marketing budget towards website users who cannot use our site search.

Last time we had to wait 3 full days to resolve a simple issue that broke our entire site search. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Abbiamo attivato Doofinder per migliorare la ricerca sul nostro e-commerce. Inizialmente abbiamo riscontrato un problema tecnico legato al feed prodotti, che impediva la corretta indicizzazione delle varianti e limitava la visibilità di alcuni prodotti.

Grazie al supporto del team tecnico, in particolare Gabriela, il feed è stato corretto e la barra di ricerca ora funziona perfettamente. Apprezziamo anche la disponibilità commerciale, che ci ha permesso di ottenere un mese gratuito per recuperare pienamente i benefici del servizio.

Siamo soddisfatti della risoluzione e della professionalità dimostrata, e confidiamo che il servizio continui a funzionare correttamente.

496% COST INCREASE - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I have been a customer of Doofinder since 2021. When I signed up, we agreed a €25 per month price for the lifetime of the contract.

Without consultation, they increased the price to €149 per month — a 496% increase. My usage would actually qualify for their €49 plan, yet they still placed me on the €149 subscription.

When I challenged the increase, Doofinder responded by saying they could no longer meet my expectations, even though my expectations have not changed since the beginning.

Early customers supported this company but it now seems like greed has replaced loyalty.

I also submitted a GDPR data request, which they have failed to comply with.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company in any way.

Wir nutzen Doofinder seit geraumer Zeit und sind mit der Suche auch grundsätzlich zufrieden. Um Doofinder optimal zu integrieren haben wir mittlerweile auch eine Menge Geld investiert.
Nun reicht unser Abfragekontingent im Businessplan nicht mehr aus. Man hat keine Möglichkeit im Portal zu erweitern. Vom Support bekommt man automatische Antworten, dass die Support-Mailadresse nicht aktuell ist (gibt aber auch keine andere Adresse). Anfragen über das Portal werden vollständig ignoriert.
Irgendwann meldet sich mal jemand ... dem Antwortet man ... und bekommt prompt wieder die Antwort die Adresse wäre nicht mehr da. Derjenige meldet sich dann aber doch irgendwann zurück. Eine Lösung gibt es aber nicht. Es wird überhaupt nicht auf das Thema eingegangen. Das die Suche nicht mehr funktioniert interessiert dort niemanden.
Kurzum - wir haben nun gekündigt weil das keine langfristige Lösung ist. Für kleine Shops mag es gut gehen aber für langfristig größere Projekte ist doofinder nicht professionell genug.

Opdringerige verkoper die geen vooronderzoek doet, en blijkbaar de administratie niet op orde heeft. Bedrijf probeert volgens mij elk jaar wel te bellen maar weet niet wat ze de vorige keer hebben besproken. Ook beweerde de persoon problemen te hebben gezien met de zoekmachine die er vorig jaar ook waren, maar surprise surprise, we hebben een andere zoekmachine ;-)

The company changed the plan without consultation, raised the price by 250%, and charged it to the card.
It's better to choose something else.

Client depuis nombreuses années

Client depuis de nombreuses années, avec un plan d'abonnement à 59€ qui convenait parfaitement aux besoins de mon site, doofinder m'oblige à passer a un abonnement mensuel de 149€ sans que rien ne le justifie, si ce ne sont que leurs prévisions ! Alors que l'activité E-Commerce régresse, eux imaginent un futur prometteur (en tout cas pour eux en forçant leur clients historique à passer à la caisse) ... bref, aucun respect du choix du client et une fin de partenariat désolante en raison de cette pratique commerciale abusive.

It was good, now something to avoid.

We've been using Doofinder for about four years. It was very good in the beginning, support was always there to help. I have no idea what happened over the past two years, I can only tell that Doofinder is not collecting our data at the moment, monthly subscription price increased from 35€ to 49€ without asking for that, the new tools are not working and when we asked the support help in setting up the new script, they replied we had to do it on our own.

Honestly, too much to handle. The price they ask is not worth the service the give nowadays. I just cancelled our account.

Good idea, mixed execution

We've been using Doofinder for a few months now. The search definitely improved to our default one, customers find products faster and bounce rates dropped a bit. The setup took longer than expected, and some of the settings felt more complicated than they should be. Customer support was responsive, but replies sometimes felt copy-pasted rather than tailored to our issue. Overall, it's decent tool once you figure it out, but it's not quite the plug and play experience I was hoping for.

Pas de support en Français

J’ai utilisé votre solution pendant trois ans. Au départ, l’accompagnement en français était excellent. Mais depuis quelques mois, il n’y a plus aucun support francophone.
Ajoutez à cela un prix excessif — j’ai trouvé une offre équivalente chez un concurrent, quatre fois moins chère.
C’est regrettable, mais il est évident que la prise en charge des clients francophones n’est pas une priorité pour vous.

Poco professionale

Purtroppo la nostra esperienza con il reparto commerciale di Doofinder è stata molto deludente. Abbiamo riscontrato un comportamento decisamente poco trasparente e poco professionale, dopo la fase di contrattazione. Consigliamo quindi di prestare molta attenzione prima di sottoscrivere qualsiasi accordo con loro.

Sarkastycznie i nieprofesjonalnie

Kontakt ze strony Doofinder pozostawia wiele do życzenia. Przedstawicielka firmy zwróciła się do nas z ofertą, na którą nie wyrażaliśmy zainteresowania. Po wysłaniu pierwszej wiadomości ponagliła nas, pisząc, że "czeka na odpowiedź". Po naszej uprzejmej odmowie otrzymaliśmy sarkastyczną i nieprofesjonalną odpowiedź. Taka postawa nie zachęca do współpracy.

Nervige Kaltakquise

Nervige Kaltakquise bereits mehrfach gesagt, dass kein Interesse besteht, es wird immer wieder versucht. Bereits das 6. Mal jedes mal ein anderer Mitarbeiter es ist wirklich unfassbar nervig. Mitarbeiter leugnet das ganze.

De trialperiode wordt je opgedrongen

Nogal opdringerige verkopers van Doofinder die iets teveel geloven in hoe goed hun product is.
Wij zaten al bij een andere Search AI en reccomendations partij en ze konden ons tijdens de demoperiode niet overtuigen. We gaven juist een eerlijk en goedbedoeld oordeel over het systeem, maar dit werd niet gewaardeerd.
Doofinder werkt matig, toont geen goede AI en je kunt niet alle statistieken inzien zoals je bij concurrenten wel kunt.

It's all very strange

It's all very strange, the searches run out too quickly, I have deactivated the plugin for a few days and when I activate it the searches increase quickly,
The search engine works perfectly, but compared to metrics it doesn't seem very clear to me.

Disappointing decline in service and support.

I’m not sure what changed, but Doofinder has become a disaster.

I’ve used Doofinder for a long time, and it used to be a solid service. I referred many customers, and they were all satisfied. The support was responsive and helpful back then.

But in 2024, everything took a turn for the worse:

Billing issues are out of control. We were charged multiple times, and despite contacting support, they struggled to explain the charges. They asked me to schedule a meeting, but after 22 emails, I’m still waiting.
Reaching support has become nearly impossible. It feels like no one cares anymore.
Customizing anything in the widget is now a nightmare. The new system forces you to go through their support, but they just put you in a long queue.
Pricing has changed, and I’m almost certain they’ve altered how they count requests. We’re now paying a lot more for the same service.
I used to love this service, but not anymore.

I’d give 0 stars if I could, but I know how hard running a business is, so I’ll give 3 stars for the good past experiences.
