I called because some of my heaters wouldn't turn off. I explained that l had an air source heat pump. The guy l spoke to went through all the fees, l asked him if there was anything that l could do so that l could hang on till morning when it would be cheaper, he said no, other than turning my electric off.

Joseph came out and was absolutely lovely, he wasn't told l had an air source heat pump and didn't have any experience with those systems other than doing a course but he would have a look.

He identified the issue with a pipe but obviously couldn't do anything other than turn off the heating pump, something l could have done, which is why l asked the guy on the phone.

I have no complaint with Joseph at all. He was a lovely, polite guy and honest about his experience.

I was reading through reviews while waiting though and for so many it was a case of paid whatever ( in my case £360) guy here for 10 minutes, issue not resolved.

It's a good scheme l guess and no doubt emergency hero make a good portion each time they send someone out.

So £360 down and l have to get someone else out anyway which l now can't afford to do. This company pray on the emergency situation, take your money and rarely does the issue get resolved. Then give out the usual response of just being the introduction.

This company shouldn't be in business. I intend to take this further.

Paul king plumber came out to sort out my burst pipe. He arrived very promptly, even before I got text to say he was on the way. He stopped my leak within minutes and said he would sort a new tap out for me. He was very courteous and helpful and can’t thank him enough as I was in a right state. Thoroughly recommend
UPDATE came this morning to fix a new tap, was on time and really happy with his work

I contacted Emergency Hero on the Friday before a long bank holiday weekend in a situation of panic. My electrics had blown and two fridge freezers of food were in the process of de-icing. Whilst most electricians had hung up their circuit testers for the weekend, Emergency Hero was on hand to help out in my hour of need. Kieran was very professional and helpful in his approach and reflected the overall quality of the service. Emergency Hero would be my automatic 'go to' should I experience a similar situation again. Thank you all for your assistance.

We have an insurance for gas/water/electrical break down. We had a plumbing blockage in our bathroom sink which being disabled and my wife having radiotherapy for cancer is essential to us. The insurance company were totally uninterested, the staff member I spoke to clearly wanted to be somewhere else on a sunny bank holiday week-end and only gave vague promises of sometime in the next two weeks. I rang this company for help and their plumber was here and cleared the problem in under 3 hours. Excellent service. We will be cancelling the home service insurance after the bank holiday weekend.

I booked a 4 hour emergency visit at 9am and it’s now 4pm and no-one has shown up. The customer service line is manned by an AI answer bot which said I’d get a call back within an hour. 2 hours later and no one has called.

We had a leaking radiator which was causing damage through water dripping from first to ground floor. Thinking that EH would be the best solution we paid £360 for a heating engineer to spend half an hour tightening a valve. He left saying it was fixed but we had to phone him within about 2hours to say it was still leaking. He could not come back for four days. Emergency Hero put me through three different people but did no more than give some alternative phone numbers and a £90 refund. Useless as an Emergency service. We should have avoided the scam by phoning engineers ourselves. Got Pronto Plumbers who were great and replaced the valve at 8pmbonba Saturday Night.

Had issue with leak under sink. Called Emergency Hero who advised plumber would be with me me within 4 hours and charged me £360 for the pleasure of doing this.

Plumber arrived 5 mins before the 4 hours had expired and being on a Sunday claimed he didn’t have the parts to the fix the issue and as a result would have to come back the next day and I’d be charged another £150.

Plumber did not return the next day, and when he did return spent all of 10 mins replacing the ubend, however this has not fixed the issue and nearly four weeks later we still have the same issue and a leaky ubend under the sink.

I have contacted the plumber and several occasions now and have been told that they would come round and re-review the issue and each time they have not turned up.

As a result I am now having to find another plumber and pay for the issue to be properly resolved, which I wish I had done in the first place as I would have been £500 better off.

I wish I had checked reviews before contacting Emergency Hero, but I went straight from a Google search in a hurry.

I placed a call for a plumber, and immediately paid £360 over the phone there and then, but quickly realised this was not what was needed for my boiler problem, and cancelled the call out less than 30minutes after my first call.
After a week of calls and emails, I got £180 refunded, with the company keeping the other 50% of money paid for admin costs.

To be clear, nobody was sent out on the job, nobody turned down any business due to my call, and nothing at all was done, but the company were adamant in keeping £180 of my money despite providing zero service.

They then stonewalled me for months until I launched a claim through the small claims court, which prompted them to immediately apologise and issue a refund of the remaining £180 (plus the additional £30 costs for me having to open a small claims court case). Opening a claim is easy to do, and in order to get back £180 that was rightfully mine, it was well worth the effort.

It took the threat of legal action for them to do the right thing, which, they eventually did, but I would never recommend using a company as dishonest in its behaviour as this one.
Avoid.

I called Emergency Hero to ask if they could help with my Gas Meter Box as the door lock had broken and it needed to be fixed.
I then had a conversation with Louis, and agreed with him to have a completely new Gas Meter Box fitted, the price was high but I thought a new box would be the answer!
I was told the Engineer would be arriving in 0-4 hours which was fine by me.
When the Engineer did arrive, he called me on my phone to say he was at my address having fitted what I thought was going to be a New Meter Box.. when I went outside to see what had been done. Well.. what he did was fit a new catch with an additional clasp on the outside of my original box!!! I then asked why he had not fitted a new box when I had paid for one at a cost of £360!! He told me that he was only instructed to fit the new catch on the door!!and actually showed me the actual instructions that Emergency Hero had sent him..
So.. . my advice to anyone is DO NOT USE Emergency Hero for ANY JOB! It’s a CON! They are only after the MONEY!

The operator was kind and more than helpful. Our electrician arrived and reconnected our electric quickly and professionally.
Emergency hero saved us after we were let down by our insurance company.

The electrician, Farook soon identified the problem and went way beyond our expectations in resolving it. Was very pleasant throughout and tidied up completely afterwards.

Needed a plumber to sort a leak out on a Friday night. Mohamed arrived within an hr and completed a fast repair. Top notch guy

A very nice plumber arrived within four hours of my call late on a Saturday afternoon. It was a relief. Thank you.

Good part:
Fast service in relation to the arrival of emergency electrician within 2 hours. (no power in house - a leak in roof caused power to flip but could not isolate the switch to get rest of power on)

Electrician seemed very knowledgeable and helpful and did do a thorough job. Also, highlighted additional things that should be looked at another time.

Not good part:
Initial Cost of £180 call out and then on top £180 (to total minimum of £360) for first hour was eyewateringly expensive.
Allegedly, a part (something to do with the main fuse) had to be replaced, and the cost of that part was £192 ???? no receipt produced. Find this impossible to believe in hindsight.
Electrician was gone for 1 whole hour to get the part - so another £180 clocked at my expense. I don't believe this to be genuine.
Then another hour looking into things and fixing things which to be fair did seem genuine and the job very thorough.
Then totting up the bill at the end, the additional hourly rate was quoted at £220 not £180 which I had to challenge.

In total £912!! (initial call out fee plus 3 hours plus the part)

Basically, felt scammed with the cost - I am pretty sure that was £400 more expensive than it needed to be. But job was completed successfully and power now all working again.

The tradesman arrived on time and promptly isolated the source of the problem, leaving us with no worries.

I contacted Emergency Hero for an urgent gas leak. I was promised an engineer within 90 minutes, but they took nearly four hours to arrive. When the engineer finally showed up, he spent barely five minutes assessing the issue before declaring he didn't have any copper pipe to fix it—a basic necessity for this kind of work.

Despite the lack of a fix, I was charged a full call-out fee and a complete hour's labor for five minutes of time. I feel like I've been robbed. To make matters worse, a quick online search of the assigned engineer revealed a history of poor reviews, showing a serious lack of contractor vetting by Emergency Hero. When I tried to dispute the charges with customer service, I was trapped in a loop with a completely unhelpful AI chatbot. I highly recommend avoiding this company.

We needed an emergency electrician for a vulnerable elderly neighbour and you were all amazing, especially Ben who was on the phone.

Had an electrical emergency that needed a quick response late on a Friday evening. The guys were really good and quick to respond. Great communication.

Being able to talk to a human being on the phone makes a huge difference in a minor crisis, and the peace of mind knowing it was going to be sorted through a professional was really helpful.
The plumber came (slightly later than estimated) but got on with the job and left the affected area leak free.

We used Emergency Hero for a leak that started in our property, chap on the phone sent Remi to identified the issue, he did so promptly and got this sorted for us in no time we have since used Remi for another job we had this weekend! Thanks Remi and emergency hero 👍
