I was sent a colour that turned my hair black (I have naturally mid brown hair) it was far too harsh. I emailed the colourist and was advised to purchase a colour removal treatment which I had to use twice in order to lift the colour (I bought these from a local chemist). I was then contacted by e salon offering a free colour and asking what colour I wanted to try. I explained that I was nervous about colouring it again, I wasn't sure what colour to go for and how it might affect the lightened hair. I was then sent a 'guesstimate' colour through the post without my confirmation or involvement in the colour. I didn't use it because I was worried it would turn my hair too dark and damage my hair. A few weeks went by, during which time I was in hospital having surgery, and then I received ANOTHER colour in the post, exactly the same as the previous mix which I had not asked for or confirmed. So now I have two boxes of colour that I can't use and have wasted money that I could have spent on having it fixed.

The system works fine if you are happy with your colour and you are on the ball with managing your subscription. If you have any trouble with either of those things - I was deeply unhappy with my colour and the e salon emails continue to go into spam despite me trying to make sure they come to my inbox - then it's a complete waste of money.

I emailed e salon directly about my experience and they did not acknowledge my email or respond. I have cancelled my subscription and won't use again.

I have been struggling to figure out what score to give to this review. Yes the product is great. It left my hair shiny and healthy but the biggest issue is that it made my hair darker and I never wanted my hair to go darker. So now my very long virgin hair has been messed up because either I have to use a colour remover, wait for it to wash out or get highlights The original solutions given by the colorist were not great to be honest and also when I asked a direct question of what type of colour was I supposed to be getting I never got a real reply. It has still not explained to me why my hair ended up being so much darker when theoretically I went for a colour that it’s lighter than my natural hair colour so maybe if you want to darken your hair this is a great product. If you wanna go lighter, I will have my reservations. Something went wrong and I still cannot figure out where it went wrong. Would I try it again? Probably not. Do I regret it? Not really? I only paid £12 but if I had paid a lot more I would definitely have asked for some sort of compensation so I can get my hair professionally fixed but I only paid £12 it’s not worth it.

Stunning hair colour. Leaves hair soft and beautiful. It’s arrived on time every 6 weeks has all accessories included right down to a sticker to hang instructions. They think of everything. It is beautifully packaged too. Highly recommend this company. They keep you informed of when is is shipped and arriving. Also lots of videos for help and advice too

This product was a major disappointment. While the packaging and marketing were impressive, the actual performance was nonexistent.
​Primary Failure: The claim of 'Grey Hair Coverage' is completely false. Despite purchasing and using the recommended pre-colour usage products, the dye did not adhere to my grey hair.
​Comparison: Even the most stubborn, short grey hairs remained highly visible immediately after rinsing. A professional colourist can manage this, and even less-expensive consumer brands like Naturtint offer several weeks of coverage.
​Conclusion: This brand provided zero lasting coverage for the grey hair. The total cost of the dye and prep treatments (£20) was a complete waste." Seriously had no idea how they could be award winning product??

Incredible product and I’ve been using this now for eight years if you take the time to follow the instructions don’t mix it on delicate carpet (what fool would!) , you get gradually more skilful and the results are amazing. My hairdresser gave me an honest critique and he was so impressed and said to keep at it.

I was mixing the colour in my bathroom with the door open and there was no lid on the mixer bottle and now my carpet is completely full of black dark dots. This is such a mistake. I need to buy a new carpet now, worst shop ever. I would hope a company like yours would send the product after quality check making sure that everything as it should be.

And to Anna Corr: learn to read. I also have to paint my BATHROOM walls and doors where I mixed the colour.

Unfortunately the colour provided was not anything near what I asked for. I wanted an auburn/copper toned brown and my hair is now dark brown with just a hint of green. All instructions followed as well. Go.to your hairdresser :(

This company is amazing! The hair colour is lovely and lasts for ages. They also have people who will work with you to find the right colour. The colour itself is packaged in lovely box with instructions and a kit that includes everything you need - gloves, shampoo, conditioner sachets, etc. I showed my colour kit to a hairdresser who was very impressed!

I really liked it. I am very pleased with the result. Thank you very much.

Been using eSalon now for over a year, I can’t imagine ever not using it.

Prompt request to tweak the hair colour thank you

Because I get to choose the colour I want.

I have asked for my colour to be adjusted a couple of times now and my colourist has tweaked my colour in a very subtle way, so that my re-growth now is not very noticeable (apart from the greys) and I know I can tweak it again. The instructions are also very clear and easy to follow. My hair is really nourished after application too. I do find the website hard to navigate if you do want to adjust your colour but once you find it - then everything flows smoothly
