Never Ever Again!

I started not to go here due to past horrible experiences with insurance and customer service. The last time I went years ago the employee argued with me that I had a copay I had NEVER had a copay and only had paid the difference from what my insurance covered for a contact exam to the price that Eyglass World charges. I called my insurance company in office and they confirmed there was no copay. I also read another review with the same experience and insurance! Fast forward to late March 2026 I decided to try them agaun since this person and that doctor at the time is no longer there and chose to pay out of pocket amd file my own claim which they dont take my insurance anymore anyway. Great, because I have filed before with no problem. I received a contact lenses exam with eye and contact lens rx for $135, but they coded it as a contact lens fit to my insurance as a follow up. The pressure in my eyes were also up. So, instead of the doctor discussing any additional charges when I go to pay for my exam they have charged me $15 for rewetting drops I could purchase from Walmart much cheaper. Wellness therapy $35 for drops given for the increased eye pressure instead of discussing it with me and recommending I see an ophthalmologist and follow up because I have INSURANCE that covers this. I paid a total of $185 for going in for a contact exam that I expect to receive the portion for the contact lens exam back from insurance because I pay for insurance for this coverage.
I go in today and speak to Becky to ask for another itemized receipt. The same code as when I went in is on the form. So, I explain to her that it is coded as a contact lens fit, but I had an exam. She says she can't change it and that's how the doctor has it set up in the system. She was nasty and extremely unpleasant today just as she was the day I went in for the exam. She is unprofessional and does not have any customer service skills. Sour face and unwelcoming. I walk out to call my insurance and speak with my insurance and she explains that the code listed is a code for a FOLLOW UP and not an exam. I walked back in and spoke to them again telling them that the code that was listed is incorrect. I then ask for corporate's number and she says "she wants corporate number. She wants us to change the code on her receipt." WHO IS SHE?!?! For a professional and her to refer to me as she like she was very dismissive. I have a name!!!!! I will return tomorrow when the doctor who performed my exam is there and I expect for him to update or provide the correct information acceptable to my insurance for my reimbursement. The provider has been paid his money so there should not be a problem to provide what I need to get mine. I am at least pleased with my rx. However, I know this means absolutely nothing to any of you, but no I won't spend my money here nor will I recommend anyone else. It does hurt the business. Peole read reviews and listen to word of mouth and experiences. They upsale and charge you for things you don't need. They are receivers and thieves!!!!!! I know a little but more hands on with this establishment than I stated in this review. Customer service matters when visiting any establishment and for me it makes a difference and is included in a decision to return. It's sad because again I am pleased with my rx, but due to Becky and her lack of kindness, courteous, unpleasant, unprofessional, rude, distasteful manner I wouldn't want to return. I did go in today 4/15 and instead of dealing with her I decided to ask for a manager I explained to him the issue and he came back shortly with the correct receipt and code. Corey McDonald was pleasant, welcoming, professional and kind. I appreciate his manners and professionalism as well as the ability to assist me.

Poorly run store

I bought two pair of sunglasses two weeks ago. The color of the lens was too light for this Florida sunshine so I returned to the store to ask if they could darken them. I was told that only the store manager could help me with this. I have been back to the Naples, Florida store 3 times! Each time, the manager was not at the store and I was told to come back. I think the store is poorly run ....... the store manager should train other employees to take care of simple matters like mine!

They don’t deliver

Ordered over a month ago when it said 8-9 days for processing and expedited 1-2 day shipping and haven’t gotten it yet and they haven’t answered a single email.

EyeGlass World Record Keeping

Make sure you retain your own medical records from this ENTIRE Company. I was informed today that they shred everything over a year old... even when in Indiana the requirement is to keep records for 7 years they do not do this. If they cannot complete your records requests, they do not call back with a follow up.

Dissatisfied

We have been customers for many years however that ends today!! A few weeks ago we were in picking up my wife’s glasses. While I was there I made an appointment for an eye exam. The gentleman told me their computer was in the process of being switched over. He gave me a date of !1/21 10AM and said he would enter it once the system was back up. I went today for my appointment and they had no record! The gentleman who told me this walked in the eye exam area and the receptionist and myself asked him about this and he could care less. No apology no nothing! He did not care that he screwed up and did not offer to help us, That’s ok called Americas Best got right in for an exam bought two pairs of glasses. Great Customer Service. We will now be going here.

A change for the best!

After many years of using another eyeglass company for all my exams and glasses, twice in the past few years it was sold. I started to look for another place due to changes in the doctors, service and personal touches that are gone
I choose Eyeglass World on a recommendation from my son. He has been getting prescription safety glasses for work from them for a few years and has been very happy with the exam, service and quality of the glasses. The doctor was very personablel, patient, listened to all of my concerns, and did not hesitate to repeat a few steps to be sure everything was correct. They have a good selection of frames varied prices, some were on sale and Kyle made a few suggestions that was very helpful to finalize the purchase. I actually spent less here, because they don't insist on the dialation (unless the exam indicates it is needed) and the lenses were less than the other business. Overall, I am very satisfied with my visit and will be going back, also would recommend Eyeglass World to anyone that needs an eye exam or glasses. I had no experience with contacts, but if they use the same honesty, integrity and service levels you will be happy to use them for contacts too - I'm sure of that!

BEWARE BUYING ONLINE FROM EYEGLASS WORLD

I placed an order online for prescription sunglasses on July 02, 2025. On July 10th, 2025 I noticed on my online order details that my prescription had not yet been verified, so I called and asked why. I was told that it had been verified and it was immediately changed to state verified. Why 8 days to verify a prescription? 8 days....seriously?

Then I noticed that the order was supposed shipped on Saturday July 12th, 2025. I expected that it would be delivered soon, so I then requested a tracking number. I received an email stating that the order has been shipped and was provided a UPS tracking number.
I tested the UPS tracking number and come to find out, the tracking number is NOT VALID!.

I then check the ship date. Now the shipping date has been changed to Wed. July 16th, 2025 with a UPS tracking number that is still NOT VALID!!

Then I tried to contact them again for four days without success. I called their customer service number and as soon as they answered a recording stated they are closed and immediately hung up. Then I contacted National Vision who owns Eyeglass World and they told me that their online customer service system is down and would not be available until Monday July 21st.

I then contacted the customer service on Monday July 21st and was on hold for over 31 minutes to find out that the sunglasses had been shipped via USPS....NOT UPS.

I would highly suggest NOT ordering online from Eyeglass World, unless you really enjoy waiting a long time to get your glasses as well as being lied to.

DO NOT GO HERE!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Got my eye exam, got my prescription. Ordered glasses and contacts…. They advertise they do same day glasses. Apparently they had to send my prescription out but didn’t tell me. Waited a week and got notification my contacts and glasses were ready. Went to store and only contacts were there. Lady- manager- looked me dead in the eye and said my glasses were on the list to be done that day and she would personally call me. ITS BEEN ANOTHER WEEK and no glasses. I left two messages this week with no return call. Called again today- was told still were not ready. So manager lied straight to my face about glasses being ready last week. Email and text I received also lied about order being ready. I HATE liars!!! Lady on phone today said she was going to get a manager and hung up on me!

Tell me they aren’t ready, Tell me you had to send them out, tell me when I order it’s going to be multiple weeks to get my glasses from a place that advertises same day glasses. DO NOT lie straight to my face that they are almost ready and than weeks later still not have the glasses I already paid for. I will NEVER use this place again!!!!! Horrible customer service and horrible products. Horrible communication!!!

Run Away from these hacks. Spend a little more and get a real pair of glasses, Cheap Materials, Real Junk. My eyesight was worst with the new glasses. I returned them but the exam portion is done by a separate company and they would not return my money. The service reps up front are really nice but they have no control of any other part of it. You get what you pay for.

Eyeglass World (Mesa AZ)

Eyeglass World (Mesa, AZ) is on Cigna’s website as an approved provider through EyeMed. I called to make an appt. I asked how long it would take for dilation, preliminary eye tests on machines, and eye exam. I told them I was not going to be purchasing eyeglasses at this time as I had an appointment with my retinal specialist in 2 weeks. He would be telling me if I qualify for surgery for epiretinal membrane removal, retinal detachment, macular hole, and cataract removal. I needed to know how long this exam would take as I needed to hire a Lyft driver since I cannot drive with cataracts after dilation. I was told to allow one hour for my appt. I allowed 1-1/2 hours just to be safe. I was then sent a 5 page detailed form to fill out online, which was already populated with former Nationwide Vision visit.

I was called 3 hours prior to appt with them telling me they couldn’t confirm my insurance. I gave them updated info. I arrived at 2:10 pm with an appt time of 2:30pm. At 3:05pm they told me they couldn’t find me in their system and that it would be $79 for an eye exam in addition to $45 for machine tests and dilation. I called my insurance company and they said I do indeed qualify for coverage at this facility. They still denied it until Ins Company talked to them. At 3:10 pm the clerk told me that I should skip dilation and one of the machines and they could get me out of there by 4:00pm for my Lyft ride. I figured that since I am 75 YO, they thought I would go along with this substandard eye care. The nameless male manager could not understand why I was upset as I had to sit around for two hours for my ride and go home without having my eyes examined. I could not change ride pickup time as they require 48 hours notice. I also wasted a ride voucher with my insurance company, which are limited.

Something is wrong with these people at Eyeglass World. They acted like I was too demanding. My needs were totally not fulfilled. No real apology, when all they offered was a partial exam. Dilation and machine tests were extremely important due to my severe eye problems. This is half-baked, blatant negligence on their part, especially since they did not put themselves in my position under these dire circumstances. Cutting corners when it comes to my eye care is totally unacceptable. I highly recommend you go somewhere else if you really care about your eye health.

The Tyrone location in St Pete really saved my bacon! I broke my glasses at work and my new glasses from another place weren’t going to be ready for several weeks! Diondre (sp?) was awesome and took care of everything for me!,’ thank you guys!!!

Worst glasses ever….

After receiving three pair of defect glasses in one year there was nothing they could do for me that my warranty had expired.i could understand it if it had been something I did to cause . One lady told me the glass was cut to thick however they never got it fixed right so I can only say it was some kind of defect on there end . The worst thing about what happen that I had a hard time seeing through them and to having wear them like this

Was told it would be 24 hours

Was told it would be 24 hours. Got called and told my & my daughters glasses were done. Took my daughter up to get them waited an hour to be told they're not done come back tomorrow. Receive texts all day saying they were done. Went back the next day and it took another 2 hours to get them fitted. My daughter ended up missing 3 days of school. The first day to do the exam, the second day when they weren't there, and the third when we got fitted. I will not be coming back.

Expensive eyeglass

I had to pay for the eye exam, whereas the eye exam is free at America's Best. My eyes were not dilated for the exam, even though it said on the paperwork that they would be and that dilating my eyes would give me a more thorough exam. The deal for two pairs of eyeglasses is slightly more expensive than at America's Best, though they do seem to be slightly better glasses. Considering that it was more than double the price of getting glasses at America's best, I would like not go to Eyeglass World again.

Excellent location

Amy was patient with me. She listened to my concerns. I was able to get two pair of fabulous sunglasses. It is one of the more pleasant experiences I have had with eyeglass businesses. I am definitely going to be a returning customer.

Had an exceptional customer service…

Had an exceptional customer service experience at Eyeglass World on Fulton Avenue in Sacramento. Christian was very kind and patiently explained what progressive eyeglasses could do for my vision. Dr. Mostow provided the guidance and assistance I needed to make the right choice. Asani was very helpful and courteous. Highly recommend this location.
