Right from the get go Senem was incredible. The communication was great. Organising everything was very easy. Senem & Sedeq are great people and made the experience very comfortable. The nurses and surgeons were all very professional.

The pre op testing is very thorough which was great.

I loved meeting other New Zealanders on the ward, it made it feel a little more at home.

Overall our experience was good, we have no complaints about anything! The hospital was great. The cleaners were lovely. We are very happy that we chose Galya Health to start our new walk of life.

Right from the start of the journey Galya Health were there every step of the way. Senem and Sedek guided us through the whole process making everything easy and answering any questions we had. I was unlucky to be sick prior to surgery and they were right on to it -.surgery was delayed till they thought I was well. The nurses, doctors and cleaners were all lovely. The language barrier can be tricky but immerse yourself and try and connect 💫We are home now and post op is going well. Thank you Galya Health!

After years of struggling with my weight, I made the difficult but life-changing decision to travel to Turkey for gastric sleeve surgery. My experience with Galya Health was amazing. From my arrival right through to discharge I were well looked after. I was greeted by Sadek who took me to get all my tests done prior to surgery...I was blown away how thorough they all were like WOW I them met my surgeon who explained everything to me and by 12.30pm I was getting ready to go to surgery.
Pre n Post op surgery was amazing i was well looked after.
I had the Gastric Bypass n have no regrets I have had no problems just getting use to the change of diet but it's been amazing.
I think the couches for support persons should be reviewed as they were not comfortable maybe Lazy Boy chairs would be better? I felt for support people who were struggling with the sleeping couches need to be looked after as well.
Highly recommend to have your surgery with Galya.

I booked my gastric sleeve with Senem and from the moment I booked my procedure to the moment I returned to my home country (and even now 1 month post-op) the service she provided was fabulous! The care, service and professionalism is top notch, Senem is truly the best. I had many questions prior to arriving, especially being a solo traveler and she always replied so promptly.

We had a great experience. My surgery went without a hitch, the pre op tests were very thorough and my pre and post care was excellent at Medical Park hospital. The surgeon there visited twice daily and the Galya team called in to visit frequently.

My husband’s dental treatment went very well also. He was well supported to, from and through the process and he his very happy with his first round of treatments. We are returning to Istanbul in late October for his final treatment.

I am from Aotearoa New Zealand.

I reached out to Senem to enquire about WLS. She replied almost immediately. Communication was clear and concise and I was told what to do to book my operation.

A few weeks later I was in Turkey. The Pre operation tests were thorough. My Operation was conducted by a world class surgeon / Professor Seyit . The Care from nurses was of a high quality. My room was constantly cleaned, my needs met, Senem & GP rang me in the evening to check on me.

The overall experience was positive, smooth, caring and nurturing. Yes there are language and cultural differences, but you will receive a transformative operation, receive world class treatment, and be blessed to be in an ancient land that is truly spectacular.

Flying from New Zealand to Istanbul was nerve wracking but Senem and her team at Galya Health supported me through the whole process. I had gastric bypass at end of June 2025.
From the perioperative testing to the actual surgery and care received post op, the team were checking in on us twice a day. Even after I flew home, the check-ins to see how I am are appreciated. Thanks Senem for making my surgery and stay accommodating and supportive.

What can I say, Senem, Sadik and the medical team at Gayla Health are amazing! From start to finish everything is organised to the detail and healing is taken care of by everyone. The surgeons visit more than once a day to check in your and OMG the cleaners are in atleast 4 times a day keeping everything spic and span making sure you need for nothing. While you reat and heal. My support person was well fee and taken care of also. I do not believe we would have received the same care, attention and cleanliness in NZ sadly. I want to share my experience to help others be prepared.

I’ve always had anxiety around dental visits, so I expected a numbing injection before anything painful was done like I’ve always had back home. But when I went in they immediately started drilling my tooth without numbing me first.

I was visibly in pain flinching and groaning but they kept going. It wasn’t until I couldn’t take it anymore that they finally gave me some numbing injection, but they didn’t even wait for it to kick in. They just started drilling again almost immediately. It was honestly one of the worst dental experiences I’ve ever had.

Afterward, they took me into another room for a cleaning. They drilled around the tops of my teeth, hitting my gums repeatedly. It was extremely painful. My teeth are clean now, sure but the whole process was genuinely shocking.

I’m not trying to be negative just honest. If you have dental anxiety or sensitivity, please ask lots of questions and make sure they’re clear about pain management before letting them start. I hope this helps someone avoid the same situation.

I traveled to Istanbul for gastric sleeve surgery, with nerves of been in another country was alot. But having such a great team along side you was awsome Senem has been amazing throughout the whole process. Sedek the translator was also a top man helping you understand what the next step is etc. I couldn't thank you all enough. The surgeons, doctors,nurses right up to the cleaners. You all made the process so smooth sailing. I appreciate you all taking care of me.

What an amazing country and culture. Turkey truly left a mark on my heart. The Turkish people are warm, welcoming, and beautiful inside and out. I had surgery with Gayla Health and from start to finish, the experience exceeded every expectation.
