Really it is an empowering experince and I really like it because it is motivating to continue learning German confidently.

Laura's German Foundations course provided an exceptional introduction to my German learning journey. The course's meticulous structure allowed for a deep dive into various topics at a manageable pace, making complex concepts easy to grasp. The inclusion of a comprehensive workbook filled with exercises further reinforced learning, with Laura's clear guidance steering the way.

However, my experience was somewhat marred by the marketing approach. While initially satisfied with the first German Foundations course, I was disappointed to discover a second, more comprehensive course only after purchasing the initial one. Laura's website fails to mention the existence of the second course, and links to it are only found within GF1. Throughout the first course, Laura repeatedly alludes to topics being covered more extensively in GF2, leaving me wishing for clearer upfront communication about the full range of offerings.

Despite this drawback, I've found both Unlocking German Grammar and GF1 immensely valuable in jump-starting my German language journey. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone embarking on a similar path.

I first found German with Laura on YouTube, and at that time I was hesitant to purchase German Foundations I. I wanted to learn German smarter, not harder. However, after doing extensive research and trying out different materials, teachers, and resources for learning German, I can say that Laura's German Foundations is hands down everything you could wish for and more! Laura is a one-of-a-kind teacher. My only regret is not purchasing this course sooner. It's the perfect way to build all the necessary foundation you need to master the German language. I moved to German about a year ago. I have been doing Duolingo for a number of years and also have been in a full time intensive German course (5 days a week, 4 hours a day) to get to B1. I have been so frustrated with my progress and trying to understand how things fit together. There didn't seems to be any systems or strategies that I could find to help. I felt is was "you just need to learn through memory and repetition. I was very disheartened. Then I came across Laura's free introduction models. I did them I finally felt I had someone to help! That could break it down into bite size learning, that could give me some tools and structure to help. I can't recommend Laura's course more highly. I am half way through the Foundations course and am looking forward the next course. Thank you Laura.

Be aware I have only just started the course [module 1] but am loving the clear and methodical approach which has already gone a long way to demystify the noun gender issue. Great exercises to test my comprehension. Also impressed with the "Discussion" option. Answers are always received very promptly with bags of encouragement.

I didn't quite see enough information about how far this course will take me. I was sucked in by the free "unblocking" course but ,after doing that, I was confident enough to take a punt and pay for "Foundations1" and haven't regretted it. Some reviews say it's expensive but I think it stands up well against other paid courses.
Having run into the buffers with Duolingo after a 6 month long daily session [great to start with] I concluded I needed to get to grips with the grammar [absent on Duo] before I could get further benefit from a free app learning system.
Anyway, Laura is fun. I hope I don't have to invest in too many courses before I can return to a free "immersive" system. After all, I am learning this language recreationally, because most of my holidays are in Germany/Austria/Switzerland and would like to "make the effort" I don't aspire one of those Brits. who just shout slowly and loudly in English.

Excellent course with a unique and novel approach to learning a difficult language

German Foundations is a life saver! Laura's methodology has made German grammar MUCH easier to understand and drastically reduces the amount of memorization needed. I still have a lot of work to do to recall everything on the fly, but this course receives a well-earned recommendation from me.

I started German foundations 1 and finished with a wealth of knowledge. Now taking German Foundations 2, and wow is it so worth it. The teaching style is really second to none. Laura is such an awesome teacher. I would recommend these course to anyone wanting to start this journey, its simple to get started, and the course literature is even free for downloading, or they offer all the books at a ridiculous low price. The support that is given is so wonderful, it makes you feel like your learning with a family.

Exceptionally smart approach, Laura's creative hierarchical charts: Gender Hierarchy, Plural Pathways, All-in-One Declensions etc, make logical sense of German grammar, which is an incredible breakthrough for me... no more guess work! Laura's teaching style is very intelligent and fun. My understanding of German has taken a giant leap forward and I am very excited! Thank you Laura!

Having researched, and tried, many different apps, subscriptions, and live online classes, I was becoming very disillusioned and demotivated in continuing with my German language goals. There was seldom any clear structure, the understanding of which topics to study and learn first was completely baffling, and the expectation on what I was supposed to remember (including the vast amount of charts and tables) was pretty depressing. The other real 'downer', was being told by all of the above, that there were very few techniques or shortcuts to aid in the process. It was all about memory and months and months of homework.

I'd spent a fortune, and was at the point of giving up. Then I came across Laura's free introductory course (by chance on YouTube) After doing this short course, I knew immediately that I had found the teaching I had been looking for. I signed up to the Part 1 grammar course straight away, and I have absolutely zero regrets!

It's simply excellent! Laura has not only designed a logical and extremely helpful structure, the tools and techniques that are on the programme have been game changers for me. I'd originally thought of learning reams of vocabulary, and the grammar would follow, but this was completely wrong. The course teaches the grammar rules and techniques in short, punchy lessons, and the way it's designed, the knowledge sticks. The vocabulary has already started to fall into place on its own.

Fellow learners, I don't say this lightly, but trust me on this; this is a teaching programme that leaves everything else in dust, and is extremely effective! The best move I ever made on my German learning journey!

This course changes your understanding of all the pieces of German you may be trying to learn elsewhere (Babbel, Duolingo, etc.). Laura's course explains German--the reasons, the rules, the process. Her charts are excellent resources that offer a way to visualize the language and make connections and internalize the rules. I am completely satisfied with the course.

Even after several years of learning, Laura's German Foundations I course proved to be EXACTLY the foundation that was missing. I would, without hesitation, recommend this course both to beginner and intermediate students, as even those who are moderately comfortable speaking will undoubtedly find a lot of value here. I found the price to be very reasonable for the amount of content and, honestly, wish I had started here, instead of purchasing this course so much later into my learning arc. To the prospective student on the fence: do not hesitate, this course is genuinely worth your time and coin.

Laura's methods are much more logical and useful than other courses I've taken so far in both the US and Germany. She breaks down the complex grammar in German into consumable parts, and I immediately started improving my German. As an Expat in Germany, I can highly recommend for anyone who is seeking a real grammar refresh.

I‘m so pleased to have found German With Laura because Laura lays the grammar foundations and fills the grammar holes that I have experienced with Duolingo.

I started learning German online as an adult simply for brain training but found quickly that a grammar course was necessary in order to elevate my language learning from merely rote learning on an app to a working understanding of the nuts and bolts of basic German sentences. Laura‘s German Foundation 1 really delivers this in clear bite sized lessons. The more Laura lessons I take, the less I‘m just guessing on that pesky app. I can whole heartedly recommend German with Laura.

I‘m certainly thinking about taking the next course German Foundations 2 next.

For someone that is struggling with German grammar this session is well worth the time and money. Finding the right noun gender is a tough one but with the hierarchy chart she put together has helped me immensely. It is setup so nicely the bite size videos. Plus the tests after each step or/and video.
The declension (word ending) chart, for determiners, Adj. endings, is a huge step up from how I was initially taught.
A well thought out approach. It didn’t happen overnight.
The Dativ/ Akku preposition video was very clear, when determining which class they fall into. She made it so simple.
The team is wonderful. If you wanted to ask a question most of the time someone had asked it in the discussion section that is included individually with each video. So helpful. Thank you for all the effort. It was a blessing to me.

German with Laura is a unique eye opener. Finally someone can teach German grammer in a manner that a dummy like me can grasp. It comes in small chunks that are understandable. The word drills help to make the lesson sink in and the ability to chat and ask questions clears up any misunderstanding. I studied German in high school and have tried picking it up on and off again over the last twenty years without much success - until now. For the first time, I have started to understand the rules behind the grammar, instead of just trying to memorise set combinations. I’ve loved this course and feel really like it’s been a step-change in my learning. I don‘t know why it isn‘t taught this way all the time!
