What makes Laura great? She cares about her students and follows up to see how they are progressing in her courses. She explains things well and also improves your confidence level, before even tackling the language itself. Would you rather dive right into the language? No. I would rather be given the confidence from the teacher, before diving right in.

A different approach to the difficulties of German with organization that I have not seen elsewhere including a chart of endings that help with figuring out noun gender. It does stress some memory but not the rote memory of learning the gender of each noun. I have just begun with her and am at page 5 of one of her books. 3 books are sold for $25 total and appear necessary to me to go with her course.

The explanations are very clear and easy to understands. The method used makes it easy to learn and to retain the information.
I would recommend this course to anybody.

German with Laura is an excellent learning program that teaches the fundamentals of the German language. There is absolutely no way a person could sound reasonably intelligent without first understanding sentence structure, syntax, and of course, declensions. Other programs on the market will teach vocabulary, but they do not adequately teach you how to properly form sentences, in order to have actual conversations. Lauras is the only program that teaches all of these. Any questions you may have are promptly answered by staff personnel, or sometimes Laura herself. I highly recommend this program.

Very clear and concise explanation on all german grammar concepts

Two years into German on Duolingo, I've learned a lot but am constantly aware of the need to understand German grammar. You can get through Duolingo without understanding the rules of a language but you will be severely limited in your ability to understand and speak the language. German with Laura provides that missing, vital element in a clear, logical, easy to follow manner. I'm a bit more than 25% o the way through her German Foundations 1 course and it is proving to be well worth the price. Laura is an excellent teacher and the course is very well designed and presented.

The course was setup in a really nice way to help you retain the knowledge better. Plus she explains everything better than I have gotten in other platforms. I ended up realizing that I had more issues than I originally thought I had when I began the course and Laura helped clear a lot of them up. I am looking forward to eventually taking the second course too.

German with Laura is both interesting and Informative. The course is easy to follow and not to complicated. I have realised that by consentrating on German grammer in a structured way it will be far easier to learn the Language. And, it is supprising how many words you do pick up or recognise in the proscess of learning the Grammer.
Another thing I like is that I can go at my own pace, which, I have to say is usually slow!

A great course, breaking down all the weird things about German in a methodical and helpful way. You can keep going back to repeat exercises and consolidate things. Laura is a friendly, encouraging teacher with a good sense of humour and I've really enjoyed learning German with her.

Laura has devised a system that is the easiest to follow that I´ve ever found. German grammar is quite complicated, but Laura has simplified it in a way that is easy to follow and easy to remember. She´s a great teacher and if you want to learn German properly, Laura is the one who can help you.

Raised in the US. I’ve been 9 times to Germany to visit family. I’ve always struggle with the language. Missed a lot of old stories & good jokes. I stumbled upon Laura’s course and so glad I did. The way she explains it, you understand how it all fits together. With her method of teaching, it just makes sense. It’s a lot to process but I now understand how I can speak in the correct format. I am using Duolingo as a beginner learning German. I subscribed to Laura's German Foundations. What a great supplement. She is an excellent teacher and very helpful in beginning to understand the differences between English and German. So glad I purchased this. It certainly has helped build my confidence.

This course is absolutely incredible! I came across it when I realized that I had no idea how to construct sentences in German. The language apps I was using don't do any teaching, assuming you can figure out the rules for yourself.

Laura is an excellent teacher and brings you through the details of German grammar rules in a logical manner, using short video modules and workbooks. She explains things very clearly, so it's easy to follow her. There are ample examples and many practice drills. She has created unique tables and other aids to help you learn noun genders, plurals, breaking a sentence down into segments, verb conjugations, and so on. I am almost finished with the course and will also sign up for the 2nd course. This course has substantially exceeded my expectations, and I am so excited about the outcomes!

Laura is an absolutely brilliant teacher and that assessment is coming from someone who spent her 30 year career as a teacher. She is clear, extremely well organized, and has figured out how to present this material in an approachable and usable way. Bravo!

I stumbled upon German Foundations with Laura when I hit a roadblock with Duolingo. I couldn't determine when to use "der/die/das" properly and Duo really doesn't explain the whys. I had no idea what a declension was or how to determine the gender of nouns. Laura essentially takes the student by the hand and guides you through step by step on the process. She makes an undaunting task manageable and not so scary. There are multiple opportunities for practice and her charts (which are genius in my opinion) make remembering word endings a little more simple as opposed to remembering loads of charts used in traditional teaching. And customer service is excellent. Each time I had a question, they were very prompt (usually less than 24 hours) with a reply and rationale for the answer.
