I bought a bed from Get Laid Beds for my mom last month. However I found it didn't fit our existing mattress, then I emailed customer service. Spencer replied quickly and was very helpful. The problem was fixed and my mom loves the bed very much. I am very satisfied with their after-sales service. Thank you Spencer!

The guys who delivered and assembled the bed were friendly, polite and efficient. They assembled the bed quickly and well. They were nice chaps and gave a very positive impression of Get Laid Beds.

This is my third review of Get Laid Beds. My first two reviews describe what happened with my bed, the problems I encountered and how difficult it was to get my money back. Please read those if you want the background to this review.

This review is written to help others, not to bash Get Laid Beds or Trustpilot. I am done with the former and increasingly doubt the usefulness of the latter.

After my experience, I started looking much more closely at how this company maintains a 4.9 Trustpilot rating.

For several weeks I have watched strange clusters of 5 star reviews appear. Every review I have monitored has been labelled Unprompted. Many come from accounts with very little review history and praise the same employees by name for delivery, assembly, phone calls, WhatsApp conversations or showroom visits.

Some people give Get Laid Beds 5 stars before they have slept on the bed, before receiving it, and in examples I have seen, even before deciding whether to buy one.

Get Laid Beds does ask customers for reviews. They prompted me too, but I did not react to their request and wrote mine independently. Many of the reviews I have observed look like they may have been written in response to some form of prompting, yet every one is labelled Unprompted.

That distinction matters. A prospective customer sees a 4.9 rating built from thousands of reviews and may reasonably take it as evidence of exceptional satisfaction with the beds. But ratings prompted by a pleasant phone call, showroom visit or ten minute assembly can contribute just as much to that 4.9 as reviews based on actually owning and sleeping on the product.

Recent 1 star reviews describing faults, poor quality and difficulties when things go wrong reflect aspects of my own experience, but they get drowned out by strange clusters of 5 star reviews that say little or nothing about the actual product.

I cannot know from the outside what produces this pattern. Trustpilot and Get Laid Beds can.

I think this review pattern deserves to be brought to the attention of the CMA. I am leaving that suggestion here particularly for prospective customers who, like I should have, look beyond the headline score and read the 1 star reviews before deciding what that 4.9 is actually worth.

We have just had delivery and assembly of a White Knight bed. We received a text saying we were next on the list, Sean and Tyler were very polite and considerate, worked quickly and took time to explain the warrantee etc. and check we’re happy, and the bed looks good!
