I found my light and joy through this site, Koda. Most marketplace sites you go on have scammers, that’s the unfortunate truth, but they are far from masterminds. It really only takes common sense to... Ver mais

Finding my dogs and weening out the scammers
I have to say I did find myself a dog and one for my son on get your pet site. It was not easy as so many scammers go on it. I did find 2 wonderful dogs here that are spoiled and loved in their forever homes. I did try to find another one from a person named Mary with a shitzu named stella for my 18 yr daughter to add to our family her but the person set up a meet up 2 times and never showed up or responded after I drove to the meet up location they set up, so it’s either a scammer or a prank. A waste of of time. But if anyone asks for money remember not to send any monies because that is a rule on the site. When you get the dog you pay online to getyourpet. Then you get paper work from the site and some coupons for discount dog supplies and vet visit. Most scammers put pics of puppies and ask for money to be wired , Apple Pay or cashapp. Do not send anything to them. Report it to the site so they can remove them and warn others.
good experience
good experience.
i adopted a dog being rehomed thru this group only this past week. everything went well but not without any hiccups. this is not my first rodeo. i used to show two breeds in conformation and obedience and volunteered with a breed specific rescue for over 20 years.
the young family were honest in most everything they presented the dog to be. the major flaws was the dog pictured was in full coat. the dog at adoption was clipped down. they should have used the more current pictures. also they did not supply the entire vet history. only the last visit. the complete history isn't required but i would have appreciated it. nor was the heartworm status and microchip status presented at the meetup but they willingly gave it to me within minutes of sending a text asking. . this was partly my fault. i had it in my mind exactly what to ask but right at the meeting greeting the sky opened up and we had to move inside the pet supply store to conduct it so things got somewhat confusing and lost. i suggest everyone write their questions down about vaccines and preventative meds in case you have similar mother nature issues.
the adoption is now complete, the dog is doing fine and everything the owner told me appears to be correct. i am very happy with this little dog and the transaction and it saved this dog from having to stay in a shelter. that was a real plus. she and i are buddies now enjoying each other greatly.
Was interested in a dog and a "Michael"…
Was interested in a dog and a "Michael" was the guardian and long story short when it got to the point of meeting up with him and the dog didn't sound good. He didn't have a picture of himself... lived in Brooklyn and wanted money upfront for the vet paperwork he would be getting..... ok.... NOPE
good website but beware of scams!
this is a great website, but please be aware that there are scammers. i'm in new york so details may be different where you live.
here are the signs of a scammer:
- guardian has a common male name with no picture provided. where i am, it's usually "john' or "jackson."
- description of the dog usually, but not always, has horrible grammar. usually, the scammer says that "he/she like to be ride in car" or "he/she like to be held carried."
- the pictures of the dog are usually taken off the internet, and occasionally the dog is listed as way older than he/she looks in the pictures.
- the most common breeds in my area are french bulldog, samoyed, golden retriever and pomeranian. the most common names are "willy," "bella," "rosy" and "bear."
- the dog is listed as spayed/neutered, fully house trained (even though it's usually a "4 month old" puppy!!!) and is left "inside loose" when the guardian is gone.
- the reason for the scammer surrendering the dog is always, "not enough time to spend with (name)."
- the veterinarian is not listed, and the last time the dog visited the vet is "unknown."
- additional information, if provided, is almost always "hope he/she finds a better home here soon."
please be careful on this website! i will probably be picking up a dog this summer (not a scam though)!

Amazing and easy to use!
Get Your Pet is a wonderful site to find and rehome pets! A lot of the reviews on here say they got scammed, that's because they only click on profiles of dogs that are obviously fake, aka little tea cup dogs and french bulldogs... The pictures are obviously lifted from instagram, etc! There's hundreds of legit animals on this site looking for homes and only a few scams, but it's like that on any site you go to! Just don't be stupid when looking for pets... no sane person is going to rehome a $6000 tea cup dog for free. If it sounds too good to be true it is! I found my beautiful little chocolate lab on there and the adoption process went so smooth and perfect! Highly recommend!
Get Your Pet worked PERFECTLY for me
Get Your Pet worked PERFECTLY for me! I first setup a profile on Adopt-a-Pet but got no responses. Then I found Get Your Pet and setup a profile, including a short video. I got several responses within a day and completed the adoption within 48 hours! My little dog Molly was adopted by a perfect family (that lived only 12 miles from me near Chattanooga, TN!) and it was a huge relief! It could not have gone better!! Highly recommend Get Your Pet!
This is a really easy way to end up…
This is a really easy way to end up with a nightmare in your house. It’s always best to go through a program before a dog is place.People who are not animal professionals placing pets is always a terrible idea. Owners omit so much information because they just need the dog rehome, without fixing the behaviors that put them up for rehoming in the first place. I see so many dogs from sites like this who end up back in shelters. Definitely a buyer beware situation. You clearly get what you pay for.
A blessing CJ
I pick up my best friend CJ here a few years back, an older guy he was. This was a fabulous way to get my Pitt bull mix. Recently my good Ole boy passed away and I was able to message his old owner to let him know how wonderful his CJ was and let him know that our CJ had gone to the RAINBOW Bridge. How much I loved the boy of mine and how blessed we were to know him
I adopted a dog I found on Get Your…
I adopted a dog I found on Get Your Pet. The Guardian lied about the dog's age and behavior issues. She promised me vaccination and vet records but never followed through. I tried to get an appointment with one of their vets before finalizing the adoption, but I couldn't get one in time. I emailed Get Your Pet and explained what happened. All I got was a canned response, thanking me for using their service. You are on your own! Get your pet provides the platform and collects your money. Don't expect more from them.
Milo
I have been going to other sites that we're making it extremely difficult to adapt a dog without having a fence yard. I believe I am a responsible pet parent. Through this site I was able to adopt my buddy Milo and meet his former parent. We were able to spend some time together to get to know Milo which made the transition for him easier. The whole process was Very easy and I felt safe. Plus the price was 1/3 of going to a shelter or a dog rescue. Me and Milo have been together for a few months now and it is a perfect fit. Thank you so much Get Your Pet. Add on: I have read some of the reviews and yes I did run into one pet owner that wanted the money up front. Obviously it was a scam. Just like any other site online if someone ask you for money up front - do not give it. Do not give your phone number or address.. Stick to using The Get My Pet meet up app. Pick a safe public place to meet up. Most police departments even have picnic tables. If after you meet your pet and the former pet parent and want to keep in contact then exchange phone numbers. I am a real user of this app and me and Milo are extremely happy and thankful. I hope you have the same experience. Remember you're using an app and you are the only one that can keep yourself safe.
We met and adopted a fantastic lab mix
We met and adopted a fantastic lab mix, Taco, using “Get Your Pet”. I could see why reviews may be negative since the experience is a lot like buying a used car. You’re meeting a stranger who wants to find a home for their pet, so overselling them and not being truthful about bad behaviors and medical problems are a risk. While Get Your Pet was perfect for us, here’s some advice for an adopter. First, if you choose to meet choose a safe, public place – and never exchange any money. We met in a park with an enclosed basketball area to throw a ball. We watched Taco run and took the ball from his mouth repeatedly. We looked at his stool when he defecated and saw him get nose-to-nose with other dogs. We brought our own balls and leash, just in case. We also asked the former owner to bring Taco’s medical records and then we spoke to his vet (you’ll need permission). No matter how adorable the pet is, it’s heartbreaking to find out problems later. If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Pet parents also have to vet the potential adopters. Try to verify their info, google their address after the meet and even ask for references. This isn’t a site that does this, so it’s up to you to protect your pet and make sure they go to a good home.
100% SCAM!
I was so happy I found many dogs I'd like to adopt or rehome on this site. I contacted several people, they want to meet but all ask me to venmo or paypal them $. Absolute SCAM!!! I reported those people but did NOT get a response from the site!!! DO NOT USE!!!
This is at least a 90% SCAM!!
This is at least a 90% scam. We were so excited when we found a puppy we wanted to adopt. We messaged the guardian and to a fairly speedy reply. He wanted to set up the meet, so we gave him a phone number. He never called. but messaged back. I could barely read the message because the language was just a mess. I messaged him asking that he please clarify. As it turned out, he wanted the fee up front (before the meet). After that, I some more research and found another puppy with the same guardian but had a different name. Now, granted, the second puppy could have been a litter mate, however, after the messages I received, I seriously doubt it. So, without messaging, we skipped the meet and did not hear from the guardian. That confirmed my suspicions. I'm so concerned for the puppies on this site. It is completely possible that these pups are not being rehomed but bred for this purpose. Adopting a puppy from this site will only encourage this practice. There are a lot of other rescues out there and while the process might be more protracted, at least you can rest assured that you are not encouraging the puppy mills. Good luck to any of you out there looking for a fur baby!
Does absolutely nothing about scams
There are several ""owners"" asking for transactions off-site to rehome pets. This is common pet scam tactic also utilized in places like Craigslist, Kijiji, and Facebook where people will pull photos of popular dog breeds or attractive dogs from social media or Google and try to get people to pay breed-shelter prices (200-400$) under the table for a dog they don't even have, or they'll give you a dog that isn't the one pictured but is from a backyard breeding operation or worse- stolen.
I came across a chihuahua named "Rag" listed for adoption that was an obviously catfished photo, using the photo of "Prancer" from an adoption post that went viral a couple years ago. The ""owner"" also listed the dog as black and white, despite Prancer being a golden brown. Even though this was clearly either a scammer, or someone who was using false or inaccurate info, my help emails have gone nowhere and the listing is still up.
Once scammers know that nothing is being done about them, they will flock to the website, and listings will gradually become more scams than legitimate posts. This is not only disadvantageous to users, but also makes it harder for an otherwise good concept to be utilized properly and these animals will go unadopted, because the scammers will discourage people from using the site. Getyourpet is a small company that likely got too big, too fast, and is too understaffed to properly handle all the help requests that come in. If nothing is done about this NOW, it has an extremely high chance of completely running this site into the ground.
Get your act together, Getyourpet. There are plenty of people unemployed due to the pandemic, you have no excuse for not having enough staff to combat such obvious scams.
Beware of a scumbag with a Samoyed
Beware of a scumbag calling himself “David” — no now it’s “Nora”—who just happened to inherit his dead dad’s Samoyed puppy named “Grey” — no now it’s “Pearl” but always in Philadelphia, then asks to be paid off the site (fyi you’re supposed to pay the WEBSITE directly AFTER taking your new pet home, not the scammer directly for anything). He had sob story after sob story about why he needed money, suddenly his other dog “Dell” (no doubt named after his computer monitor he uses to scam people) is sick too. It would be funny if it wasn’t actually a scam.
Be Careful too good to be true usually…
Be Careful too good to be true usually is... On Meetup for Cattle dog was directed to High crime area of Columbia, PA and given an address without a yard and told this womans "Brother" would meet me. Also that she couldn't talk on the phone because she was part deaf, text only. THe address in columbia pa. has NO ATTIC yet the woman told me she was going up there "To get VET records". Be careful.
Too many scammers
Too many scammers. They use the same picture for multiple dogs and when they are contacted they request more money. Get your pet is not responsive to reports of scammers.
