I have been to out of the way parts of the Andes over the past 30 years, from Ecuador to southern Argentina. My experiences of other travel companies have been mixed (insisting that I should prioritise Machu Picchu and a coffee factory when in Peru was silly). Whereas Go Andes listened to my rather specific requests (high altitude mountain passes in search of their alpine flora) from the outset and kept me updated throughout, hiring an extremely competent driver and guide who had studied biology and taxonomy. I visited San Antonio de los Cobres during the rainy season, encountering roads dreadfully churned by mine vehicles, or else washed away by flooding, with extensive land slides a further excitement, but all went well, and I had back-up telephone numbers if needed. In my falrly lengthy experience, Go Andes was far more helpful and more professional than any other tour operator covering Andean South America.

Maria and her colleagues at Go Andes go the extra mile. We have just returned from an extended four week holiday in Peru/Ecuador which for us was the holiday of a lifetime. The attention to detail and information given was second to none and the team were on hand throughout to offer their support. Job well done!

We have just returned from a 23 day holiday in Argentina with a few days in Rio on arrival.
Maria at Go Andes provided us with an itinerary which worked really well, allowing us to visit many places without feeling rushed yet also giving us time to relax and 'do our own thing.'
The trips worked really and there were some pleasant surprises such as private guides at the Iguazu Falls and Perito Moreno glacier who were superb. We learnt so much more.
The accommodation was good and everyone that we met was friendly and helpful.
There were a few hiccups caused by airlines in Argentina (cancelling a flight etc.) But, and this is the important point, Maria and her team on the ground in Argentina were readily available on WhatsApp to help resolve the issues promptly and professionally.
We were so pleased with the service which we received that we have just made tentative enquiries with Maria about another South American holiday next year. Can't say better than that...!

This is the 2nd time we have booked a holiday with Go Andes. Maria and Jonathan are so knowledgeable and helpful with arranging our perfect trip. This time we had a private tour of Ecuador with a driver/guide who stayed with us for the whole trip. During the booking process we were able to discuss the sort of things we like to do, and as a result had a holiday which was everything we wished for. All the hotels were good quality, and we visited lots of interesting places. For the Galapagos, we were recommended a catamaran and had a wonderful time, and if anything we wished we had booked for longer.

We would have no hesitation in using Go Andes for our next holiday in South America.

Well what a trip! What can we say? We cannot seem to find the right words to describe our recent month long trip to South America, which was so well organised by Go Andes. Amazing, Brilliant, exciting, fun, exhilarating, interesting, the list is endless.
We first met Jonathon at the Destinations Exhibition in London. Go Andes approach to organising a trip just seemed right. We could be extremely flexible and have just what we wanted. We have been on a number of very good tours with various companies in the past. However despite being good there were often places which we would have liked to have seen but they were not on the itinerary. It was so different with Go Andes. We told Maria which countries we wanted to visit and a few things we really wanted to see and of our interests; wildlife, geography, history, walking and being outside and experiencing the culture of the countries we visit. We started off with just Chile and Argentina as we had visited some of the more northern countries in South America in the past. However after a few discussions and reading reviews on their web site we added Bolivia, Uruguay (a day visit) and Brazil.
We received an itinerary which covered so much. We realised that there would be a fair bit of travelling involved in this vast continent but it all looked to be linked up well. Also some rest times which, we felt was important for us as. Although we are quite fit we knew that being in our early 70’s and with altitude involved we might need some rest so we could fully enjoy the busy times. We were also given a very comprehensive list of suggestions of what to pack and good information about currencies, airlines etc.
The trip ran smoothly. We had never had private tours and we were so well looked after. When we crossed the borders by road the driver and/or guide took us through. It made life so easy. They completed forms, took us to the correct buildings and waited with us until we were passed to a guide or driver in the next country. Amazing! When we flew from one country to another we were checked in and were sent our boarding passes. In every country we had a contact person and the guides contact details via WhatsApp. We were kept informed very well. On about two occasions where there was a hiccup it got sorted easily.
The hotels were all smaller family run hotels and were all very good. Something we have never experienced before on a trip was that every bed and sets of pillows were comfortable! Necessary for a busy tour!
I don’t think we can pick a best part of the trip. However we feel that the Salt Flats and flamingos in Bolivia, The Moreno Glacier, The Iguazu Falls and the Tango experience in Argentina, The Patagonia Camp in Chile and the visit to Rio stand out as the highlights.
We have other parts of the world we wish to explore at sometime in the future and we are sure we will find more places to see in South America and get Go Andes to organise the holiday for us. Thank You Jonathon and Maria.

We have just completed a three week tour of Peru booked through Go Andes that was absolutely fabulous. We met Jonathan at the Destinations Show in Olympia in January 2023. We were impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm and we met some returning clients who were full of praise for Go Andes.
Maria planned our holiday on Galapagos and the Ecuadorean mainland and was very attentive to our wishes in planning a well thought out itinerary which we booked.
In late Autumn 2023 there was some political unrest in Ecuador in the news and we became uneasy. Maria was wonderful at that juncture and replanned the itinerary to exclude travel southwards in the mainland down to Guayaquil; instead booking more time in Santa Cruz and San Cristobal after the cruise and limiting the time in Ecuador itself to the area around Quito (the Cloudforest and Cotopaxi) and replanning the available hotels and travel arrangements with great skill.
The holiday itself had a major hiccup, no fault of Go Andes - unknown to us, when we were in the air from London to Quito a state of emergency and curfew was declared across Ecuador, with the capital, Quito cut off by armed troops. However, by the time we touched down, the Go Andes team and their capable land agents, Andean Travel Company, had already re-booked hotels and tours to accommodate the situation. Ultimately, we felt reassured and safe in their hands and had an absolutely amazing holiday from start to finish. The experiences we had will last us forever.

The itinerary (Chile and western Bolivia, 24 days) was very well planned, with plenty of time to see attractions and enough time to rest and relax. During planning the tour, Go Andes staff were very helpful and provided answers very fast. We made many changes to our itinerary and Go Andes always responded positively. Our trip was mostly private (for 6 people). The itinerary was also well executed and we never had problems with the many companies that provided service. It should be mentioned that we had 7 domestic flights, we got help from the guides to and from and in the airports, and all connections worked very well. I have to say that we were a little tired because of so many flights, plus two 10-hour flights to and from Santiago. However, all our effort was worth it. The chosen attractions were the best and the guides were professionals. We had lunches in very attractive sites, like on Salt Flats in Bolivia, and were well prepared by our guides. We experienced some of the local culture and incredible scenery. Out of the whole trip, we especially liked the north of Chile and the western part of Bolivia that we visited and in hindsight we would stay longer there. The weather was good and we were never adversely affected by it. In Patagonia, we had colder temperatures, as expected in early spring there (November). Also remember, that WiFi in hotels in remote places is not as fast as in big cities, but it does exist. In summary, we had a great experience and I highly recommend Go Andes as the tour organizer. In fact, we are thinking of another tour to Colombia and Ecuador (not planning yet) and we will ask Go Andes to organize it.

GoAndes organised our Peru holiday brilliantly. Everything we wanted to achieve was provided and the quality of hotels, transport, and guides was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for any south American adventure.

Just returned from a fantastic trip to South America organised by Go Andes. Both Jonathan and Maria proved to be excellent support, listening to our requirements and putting together a brilliant itinerary covering Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Wow! Having just returned from an amazing trip to Peru I cannot fault the service we received from Go Andes. From the initial planning of the trip where everything was tailored to suit our needs to our time spent in Peru. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything ran like clockwork , daily WhatsApp’s to inform us of times and locations , pleasant,informative guides who spoke good English, excellent pick up and drop offs( always on time), wonderful hotels throughout and every little detail taken care of. We were absolutely delighted with the service provided by Go Andes. We arranged the trip and then Covid happened so that we could not go. Go Andes rescheduled twice to accomodate the changed circumstances. The team in London put together a brilliant custom made trip for us, incorporating all the things we wanted to visit in Peru. They were always willing to answer questions, and were flexible and accomodating when we changed our plans. The team in Peru whilst we were on the trip were excellent. The pickups and drop offs were always exactly on time and the guides for all the trips were friendly, patient and knowledgeable, and spoke excellent English - exactly what is needed. We were particularly impressed by the daily updates we received by WhatsApp, letting us know what time we would be met, what to expect from the day ahead, and who would be meeting us. Even the checkin for our internal flights was done for us. The organisation allowed us to concentrate on seeing and experiencing all that Peru had to offer, without having to worry about anything. We woul highly recommend that anyone travelling to South America should not use any other company.

My boyfriend and I were supposed to travel back in 2019, but COVID canceled/rescheduled our trip 3 different times. Booking was such a breeze and they were able to give great recommendations on tours while allowing us to pick and choose what we wanted to do. It's great to be able to customize a trip so you can have some downtime to just explore. They were in constant communication throughout the two years during COVID shutdown, giving us updates on when they think we could travel and when they would recommend traveling. We were finally able to travel in May of 2022 and it was incredible! Everything was great, from our pick-up from the airport, to our tours, and hotels. All of our tours were on time, the guides spoke great English, and were so knowledgeable. It was so much easier to relax and enjoy the vacation knowing someone was arranging everything! While in Peru they kept in great communication via WhatsAPP. They checked in daily and let us know of any schedule changes. They were even able to give restaurant recommendations and other things to see! We traveled to Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley and Puno. All were incredible and worth seeing! Machu Picchu was by far the best part of the trip. Special shout-outs to Maria the travel specialist who was in contact with me for 2 years leading up to our trip, sharing updates and keeping our reservation up to date. Also, Jessika in Cusco. She went above and beyond to get us a cab while we were Lima to go back to the airport to get our Covid results because the testing center didnt email them. I would not have been able to book such a amazing trip on my own and will gladly use them again if we come back.

Back in January 2020 we visited a travel show with the intention of finding a trip with which to celebrate our 60th birthdays the following year. The main trigger for choosing a South American adventure was the desire to visit the Galapagos Islands. Mainland Ecuador and Peru were obvious choices for additional destinations so we began to explore priorities. We met Jonathan on the Go Andes stand and he and Maria stood out as being exactly what we were looking for in a travel company. For various reasons we booked for 2022 which was very fortunate considering the approaching pandemic. Jonathan spent a lot of time discussing options, listening to our preferences and making suggestions. We originally said we wanted to be away for a maximum of five weeks but that soon grew to six as we wanted to see as much as possible. We looked at suggested itineraries, picked out the bits that appealed to us (quite a lot actually) and Jonathan put together a wonderful tour for us. We had an incredible few weeks full of amazing experiences and memories made. One thing that really stood out was the quality of the guides who made our holiday so special. Their knowledge was incredible and they really looked after us.
I have no hesitation in recommending Go Andes. It was comforting to know that Maria was always available on WhatsApp if there were any questions whilst away and we were also given numbers for contacts in both Ecuador and Peru if we needed them. Local agents made themselves available to us so we felt supported at all times.

Jonathan and Maria were so helpful following our postponed trip due to Covid 19. We have just returned from an amazing trip to Ecuador and Peru. Maria was extremely knowledgeable and guided us to plan a sensibly paced and logical pathway through all our different 'must see' destinations! All our guides were really helpful and knowledgeable, enhancing the whole experience. Transfers were reliable and drivers all of a very good standard. My 35 year wait to complete the 4 day Inca Trail, and view Macchu Picchu from the Sun gate, was finally realised! If South America is your next destination - don't hesitate - Go Andes!
