An opportunity opened up to spend a week with my daughter on the Cantabrian coast. Normally I spend a lot of time researching what to do (and what to avoid) when planning a trip, but this was a last-minute thing and there was no time. Alfonso provided me with about a month's worth of really great options - and he did it in an hour! He offered unique and valuable insights into what makes the area special, without trying to 'sell' me anything. Alfonso helped me create an experience that my daughter and I will treasure the rest of our lives.

Simone was really eager to answer all our questions; he gave us a LOT of information that I think otherwise we would not have been able to obtain ourselves and was open to helping us beyond the consultation. Well spent money

I decided to try a local expert because I was going somewhere new. I had looked at guidebooks and YouTube videos but was inundated with too much information. Filling out the questionnaire and talking to the expert, I was able to quickly decide on my itinerary. I have advice on hotels, restaurants, and important cultural experiences. I saved time and ended up with a better result. I’m confident that I’ll have a wonderful trip with a minimum of mistakes/wasted time. This was a smart move.

Carola was well prepared for my questions. It was obvious she knew Chile well. She had great suggestions to my loosely planned itinerary. She was knowledgeable about the areas I want to visit. She understood what kind of trip we are wanting and tailored her answers to my questions. It was well worth the price for an hour of her time. Will definitely reach out again closer to the date of our departure for some last minute questions/ advice.

We have a trip planned to Umbria in September. I usually do a lot of research in advance. Marco was amazing - the level of detail, excellent recommendations, and answered all of my questions. He made super recommendations and had obviously read our pre-consult survey in advance and therefore made excellent use of my time.

We spoke with Primož pertaining to travel in Croatia. His knowledge of the area and honest feedback on what we could cover in our travel window was very helpful. Primož has almost convinced me to extend our stay in that area with the variety of things we'll be able to see.

We are unfortunately very unhappy with the service. It's a total ripoff. The guide shared less than what first 3 links show up when you google Slovenia. Was very unprepared, hadn't read the form at all after us putting effort into filling and sharing details on the form. He wasn't interested / passionate about the job clearly. Its the worst itiernary planning I've had in my years of traveling. Pls SAVE your time and money and instead use chat GPT or google and you will get plenty more than what they share. Do not waste any time / money here. We felt unexcited for the trip after this call so it dampens your energy instead of building it. HORRIBLE service!

Alfonso was wonderful! Within a day of contacting him, we had an hour long zoom call with him. Loads of information streamed our way with Alfonso brining up pictures and maps to help us create a very workable route through Spain. He clarified and confirmed many concerns we had and we feel so much better about planning on own trip!

We are planning a trip to Iceland later this year and had a pretty good outline of what we wanted to do but I wanted an expert to make sure we did not miss anything. Never heard of "Go Ask a Local" but found them on the internet and gave it a try. We spoke with Andres for 1 hour and he was sooo helpful. The cost of $150 was well worth it!! Not only would I use this company again, I have already recommended it to several friends. We had one hiccup which actually solidified my comfort with this company. The call was supposed to be last Friday and Andres never showed up for the Zoom. I sent an email to Go Ask a Local and Abe immediately responded saying they would refund my money or they could set up another meeting. They told me Andres was having internet issues which I understood. Abe then sent me the confirmation email for the new meeting time and left me a voice mail then followed up again. This was Platinum level service and so appreciated!

Paolo was absolutely wonderful; professional, insightful, and generous with very useful information that will be immensely helpful on our vacation. I think this is a brilliant idea and everyone should support their travels by booking a call!

Fantastic experience! I filled out the preform questioner with all of my questions and open ended items. It was clear the guide read through them and came prepared to our call with answers! He was very professional, fully understood what I wanted to do and gave me great recommendations. I saved a ton of time not endlessly searching but having a much clearer direction after our call. I wouldn't have known about a lot of things he mentioned so the call was truly invaluable. I would absolutely use this service again and definitely recommend it to anyone!!

Our guide for Sardinia, Simone Scalas, was excellent. Not only had he figured out who we were in terms of our preferences from the questionnaire, he was able to tailor a do-able itinerary which included most of what we would have liked. His extraordinary in-depth knowledge of roads and restaurants and beaches and sites to see gave us textured detail that would have been impossible for us to get on our own. He saved us hours of research and gave us the peace of mind that his plan would make the trip unforgettable.

Our Go Ask A Local guide, Chris from the UK, was really helpful with tips on places to go and how to get around. He tailored these ideas to our interests which was great. I would recommend this service
