Farmhouse Kitchen, Silkwood Park. Absolutely fantastic food off the main menu and carvery Jolie was a true gent, efficient and polite. Our therapy dog was made so welcome and he even got some meat which made his day before a nap. Service was impeccable. Thank you to all the team 5* from us all

On Sunday 21st September 2025, I took some friends and family to the Greene King/ Jolly Milliner in Bramingham Park in Dunstable for a Sunday roast. I ordered steak, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and veggies. My family and friends also placed their order. Their food was also not enjoyable. When my food arrived, my roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were cold. My family and friends also shared a similar experience.
I expressed my dissatisfaction with my food to the waitress. She politely apologized and brought me more roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. This again was cold. The steak was stiff and obviously not freshly cooked. This was the worst food I have ever had. We then ordered 2 mochas, 1 hot chocolate . Big mistake on our part.
The hot drinks were cold and totally unenjoyable. Before I left I expressed my total dissatisfaction to the shift manager. He very polite. He offered an apology but thats it!! I paid full price for everything on our order. This was not the type of treatment I expected from the chain. I have ate at other branches and I never have an issue.
I made a complaint of Jolly Milliner website a few days later but I never got a response.

Totally spoiled my day with that awful food.

Lunch at the Kings Head Wimborne was a really pleasant experience for our group of 8 adults due to the cheerful willingness and all round niceness of the three staff Jess, Lauren and Zoe. All three excellent ambassadors for Greene King.

What has happened this last 12 months?
The food is poor. The attention to detail and presentation on the plate is non existent. My daughters lasagne was burnt and rock hard around the edges, not edible at all,My gammon was rock solid I had to send it back. The chips had no taste or flavour at all, my hubbies chicken yorkie wrap was 3 or 4 chicken coupons YES CHICKEN GOUJONS sat next to a thrown on yorkie wrap! Goujons??? Really??? Food had really hone downhill this last 12 months

Not what I’m used to from Birchwood, my food was disgusting and not edible. The chicken was wet, slimy and cold. I pulled the chicken apart to see if there was anything I could eat off it and unfortunately not. When I complained to the manager I felt like I was just fobbed off because I was female. I certainly will not be back which is a shame because normally the food, atmosphere and service is great! This one time has let the whole place down for me.

Stayed at The Bear, Havant. Great venue. Well-placed, warm and comfortable. Super-clean bathroom and good food. Staff were friendly and helpful, would very happily stay there again.

I don’t know if anyone has reviewed a tv commercial on this platform before but I feel I have to say something about the cringeworthy and embarrassing Christmas advert currently being shown.
It reminds me of the old Pearl and Dean cinema ads from 50 years ago when the local Chinese restaurant would air something made for about £25 !
It is terrible - and begs the question who are they using for their Marketing and what were their internal Marketing team thinking ?
This does absolutely no favors for the brand.

Our waiter Lash was super friendly and made us feel super comfortable eating. Exchanging banter and the food was delicious and not a long wait time. Thank you for such an incredible service 🙏🏻

I booked online table for 4 adults near a window not in the kiddy area. Arrived Manageress couldn't find me, asked name again. No ok found you just- take a picture of the specials. Confused I asked what sorry? On the board take a picture.
Lucy took us to the table took our drinks order. Window was old sache and very drafty and cold. We asked Miles if we could move so he went to ask. Then moved us to a table opposite. Manageress brought drinks said Oh you've moved? I advised we had asked Miles. She said I'm very hot so can't remember what your drink is. Other people arrived after us in the area. I asked Lucy if she could light our tea light candle. Her reply well I don't think we have anything to light it with. So I replied there must be something in the pub as all tables have one? Lucy replied I will look but they always break anyway. She came back in the area several times, no word to me, so I asked again nothing then Miles came in so asked him- initiative brought a lighter 👌 Tea light lit great. Lucy then finally came back took food order. Two tables who arrived after us were all served their food before us.
Food came I had Lamb Shepherds Pie- awful not sure what taste it was?? Sprig of rosemary nearly pierced my cheek. The two men had minute amount of chips with their fish. No-one came back to ask if food ok. Very poor service from Manageress and Lucy. Miles was brilliant and polite! 👍 Been going here for years, it's going downhill again. Our food was not worth the money. Lucy's attitude was really bad mannered.

We went for dinner at the Compass Dalgety Bay, Sat 22nd of November.
Standards of staff and food have definitely dropped since new management have taken over. Hopefully this gets better as I’m sure a lot of regular patrons will choose to eat elsewhere

Longwell green. Unimpressed dinner warm. Cauliflower cheese couldn’t cut it with a knife. Shame

We went to the Coppice Wood Farm Inn located near the Trafford Centre. Always a warm welcome and the team who worked from Monday last excelled themselves. The food on the carvery was plentiful and tasty. We had a lovely family evening and we'll be back.

Greene king Darrington hotel . Went for a birthday meal and food was shocking . A southern fried chicken sub lobbed on a plate with a shovel of chips no presentation and chicken was over cooked got a member of staff and she said that’s how it’s cooked then said is that it ?? Then walked off .lasagne was disappointing not tomato or garlic to taste garlic bread rock hard and a very sad side salad . Staff then proceeded to talk about us at the bar making it very obvious and very unprofessional on the managers behalf . They didn’t take our plates away till we left they stood and watched us thro the glass panel for us to leave before attempting to clear table we were not asked if we wanted desserts etc . Customer service shocking . Despite having been there for years and visiting family staying in the hotel we will not visit again Shocking

This is a review of the George & Dragon pub in MIll street, Bedford.

I've been going to this place for years to attend events there.

Since I've been going the gents' toilets have always smelled dreadful. Whenever I've reported it, I'm told the plumber's booked but it's never fixed.

Drinks prices are very high compared to Weatherspoons.

Wine is sold from bottles and, I think, slowly - because it's often oxidised and grim.
Given the prices that's a double whammy.

I've never known a pub before this one where it's common to walk in and there be no one at the bar to serve for five minutes or so.

The staff are generally nice - one is exceptionally so - but in the week there is only one and they have to do everything which sometimes means a long wait.

The manage is usually absent but when present he's sitting in the smoking area chatting. I've certainly never seen him serve food or drink.

You have removed the meal deal at £14.95, whch we often used as an affordable meal.
There are no deals on, so we will not be coming to any of your pubs.

Came in for a few pints and chicken strips , great service as always , served by Carmel and Shanny

I went into the Richmond pub in Charminster where I used to frequent a few years ago.
Although I have property here, I don’t live in the area and travel down from Scotland and I was greeted warmly by our memory your staff I believe needs to be told about his exceptional service. His name was Jamie.
He’s his first class he drink pouring was excellent his knowledge about the local area even though he didn’t know I’m from here was excellent and I do believe this is a young man that should really be compensated someway for what I believe to be his professional demeanour during the course of my visit.
I have been in this business since 1984 and rarely do I see or witness anybody that treats you with a respect that he treated us.
I can’t stress strongly enough just how much you need to you look after this young man.
Attitude first class customer service more than first class I will come back again and again and again just because my interaction with him was so good and my son who was with me agrees with me

Waters edge restaurant, Rochester. Go there every 3 or 4 weeks. Food always good. Popular so do need to book.
Am doing a review as I am often served by a lovely, helpful lady. Today I asked her name! So just want to give a huge thank you to Clare, she is a shining star in the restaurant, always so cheerful and helpful. Thank you Clare 😊
