Impossible to speak with anyone.

Checks that I ordered.. (that they claim they would send me an email upon mailing them, which never came). Have apparently been mailed but never arrived. Their atomated system claims they were mailed on 2/6. It is now 2/16..
Calling the company to speak to anybody is an impossibility. There is just the phone tree that will eventually take you to a place that says you can speak to somebody and then they hang up. I guess I'm forced to go to my financial institution and change my bank accounts.
Harlan Clark is expensive, and totally INEPT !! I wish I read all of these negative reviews before I used them. I WILL FILE A COMPLAINT WITH GOLDEN 1 THAT THEY USE THIS COMPANY.

If I could give a Zero, I would!
I trust Costco to use reputable and quality companies for their 3rd-party vendors. I bought an ink stamp. It came, with the plastic broken into 8 pieces, plus cracks in the other. Not wrapped inside at all; just mailed in a light bubble wrap envelope. There is no way to return/exchange an item online. You have to either call them M-F or email them and hope they read it. Terrible, terrible. I will never buy anything from a Costco vendor ever again.

I was charged $6.64 for two check…

I was charged $6.64 for two check registers I am a senior citizen I don't even pay for my checks and that is total rip off I've also been trying to call them to try and get this cleared up and they have no phone number for customer service for just a regular person who's ordered from them granted my bank ordered it for me but I can't get in touch with them to do a complaint so this is the best way to do it don't order from them ever it's ridiculous

Never order from this company!

Never order from this company! I ordered checks with an in-plant rush and overnight shipping on 12/13/22, and after a twenty-five-minute wait on hold on 1/3/23, the kind lady told me that my checks were printed but were not shipped.
Do not trust this company!

Checks never arrived. The company has almost non existent customer service. An automated system designed to hang up on you. Will never use again.

Checks never arrived.

It took a month and two attempts to update my mailing address so that I could order new checks.
Then, my check order never arrived. It has been in transit for a month.
Calling customer support only got me to unhelpful automated menus.

Just about impossible to reach someone

Just about impossible to reach someone. As with so many businesses, one goes through a long chain of requests to enter information, with only the remote possibility of reaching a human. I still haven't succeeded. No way to email anyone.

Checks ordered November 9

Checks ordered November 9, 2022 shipped November 11 according to an email Harland Clarke sent me. It is now November 25 and still no checks. I called and used the phone tree to find that my checks were shipped to California; I live in North Carolina. Concerned, I called all the customer service numbers I could find and could not get past the phone tree at any of the numbers.
There is now a box of checks floating around Studio City, California and Harland Clarke has the money I paid for the checks. Without being able to talk to a human I despair of getting this solved. This is not customer service, it is customer disservice.

Never Again!

I will add my experience. Couldn't get on the website as it had been "too long". Had to order through my bank. $30 for 80 checks and (only FOUR) deposit slips, no checkbook cover, no check record. I tried to contact them but there is no option to actually speak to someone and it actually hangs up on you if you don't follow what it wants, like put your account number in correctly, etc. It actually tells you to call back when you can do it correctly. NEVER WILL I EVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. You can get checks from numerous places online for much cheaper and I verified that my bank will accept them.

Absolutely the WORST

1 star given because it would not let me rate with zero or a negative number. My rating, -3
Absolutely the WORST! I've been experiencing lots of the same issues as others that have written reviews.
I moved to a different state, called my bank, they updated new address. waited 2 days before trying to order new checks with new address. Harland insist they cannot find the account, but I put in OLD zip code, and viola, they'll let me purchase anything and everything. I called the "customer service" number, same results as several have already stated, go through AUTOMATED crap and when it's all said and done, message says " you can order products on line, Thank you goodbye." IF you have any other way or place to get your checks, personal or business then go the different route. I've banked at the same institution for nearly 20 years, harland clarke is the only supplier my bank uses. IF harland does NOT get it together, they are going to cost a bank, my bank, which I love doing business with may lose a very loyal customer. NOT MY BANKS FAULT.

As people have complained earlier there is just another complaint.

As people have complained earlier there is no way to contact them. I have sent in two emails, using their system as that is the only way to contact them, asking where is my order. Once you place the order there is a screen that says that you ordered and the price. That shows up no where else so no proof that any event took place. Don't bother calling as all they ask for is the routing number and then the recorded message system says "good bye" and that is the end. I have twice filled out the online form asking for help and am informed that I will be contacted soon, and no contact! Now I don't know whether I will get the checks nor whether they will later bill my credit card

An utter waste of time, frustration galore and nothing to show for it but a company that should be taken down.

Hacking the (automated phone) System: One star because ZERO is not an option

My firm placed an order for business checks over the phone almost three weeks ago, the status details of which did not show on the website. The automated phone system prompts you early in the call to enter your routing and account info. This notifies the system on whether you have a pending order. If you have a pending order, the system's options tree will always pigeonhole you towards two outcomes: 1. Instructs you to check/shop the website and disconnects, or 2. Gives you the minimal amount of information and disconnects. You are never provided an opportunity to speak to a human because they don't WANT you to speak to a human. This is a critical failure on the part of Harland Clarke and for this alone, I wish I had ordered through literally any other company.

To "hack" this system, enter "0" as your routing number and you will be presented with different options which will eventually connect you to a real person.

When I did finally speak to a human, I was informed that my order was not entered properly (by the previous CSR,) would never be fulfilled, and needed to be cancelled and a replacement order placed.

Bottom line: I should not have to manipulate Harland Clarke's faulty automated system to learn that Harland Clarke screwed up my order.

Harland Clarke: Do better by your customers.
Financial institutions: Contract literally ANY other company. (Seriously, read all the other reviews which are chiefly a well-deserved 1-star.)
Consumers: SHOP ELSEWHERE!

It is next to impossible to get in…

It is next to impossible to get in touch with a human being to help with a problem with an order.
My checks were sent to the address on the checks ordered not to the seasonal address that I requested.
When I did get in touch with someone, they explained they could not send checks to anywhere other than what is printed on the check. They told me my checks would be returned to them and destroyed. Then I could request a refund from my banking institution. Fine, except that it has been six weeks since the order was shipped out and no notice of return to Harland. I am out $28. My institution will not refund until notified by Harland that they have been returned and destroyed. The biggest problem is customer service with Harland and not being able to get with someone to help me find out what happened to the checks. Harland is not the only check printing company, I will certainly change vendors.

HELP

First, receipt I received did not have a tracking number or order number so no way to check on website and customer service has no option to speak to a person. I did get text updates from DHL. Received in Distribution center Raleigh NC 8/27. Traveled around and last entry available for deliver 9/2. 9/13 no delivery. DHL customer service also no help - tracking number not accepted and no option speak to person. Called Harland Clarke Customer Service and, again, no help. Same response as initially and no option to speak or email person. Terrible experience. No idea of where checks are or if will receive them.

I had placed an order online and…

I had placed an order online and received an email January 25th that DHL was the shipper. The package was sent on January 24th from Hebron, Kentucky with an estimated delivery in New York on January 31st. The packaged moved from Kentucky to Raleigh, North Carolina on the 26th. On the 27th it remained at this facility with DHLs notation "tendered to delivery service provider". No clue what that means. Some how on January 31st the package made its way to a USPS facility in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. It then moved to Austin, Texas on February 11th and made its way to New York on February 16th. Then on February 17th the package was sent to Garden City, New York and then was out for delivery on February 18th. So much for Checkprotect quick delivery. Why did Harland give DHL the delivery job if it just gets dumped onto USPS? Harland should just ship via USPS despite it slowly being destroyed by Congress! I did call and complain to Harland who sent another series of checks via Fedex which I did get promptly. I was advised to go to the bank and stop payment on the original series of checks. Here I found out instead of spending $32 for checks from Harland the bank could issue checks for $17. in the future, I will go out of my way and go directly to the bank.
