I’ve had a Hayter, such a great lawn mower.

Next day delivery and kept informed of progress by email , items were in sturdy packaging.

The service was superb. Mower ordered late one night, despatched early next day and delivered by 08.30 next day. Product well packed and with easy to follow instructions. Used once so far and very pleased with performance of the mower.
I have just replaced my over 20 year old Hayter Harrier 41 with this purchase so am a bit of a Hayter fan!!

It was sunday and our 30 year old Hayter Harrier 41 died. Tempted by the latest Hayter Harrier 41 Pro electric and the Hayter websites promised rapid delivery via their local agent (Goodrowes, Chichester), a new machine was ordered. Arrived as promised, set up and charged by Goodrowes, collected and first cut of the year completed. Perfect electric replacement for a trusted old mower, cuts the grass beautifully and feels good to use.

The oil I purchased was plenty big enough for the service on my lawn mower, the delivery was prompt and a good outcome all round :)

Unfortunately Hayter are no longer a company I would buy or recommend!
Batteries are very expensive not lasting test of time! Paint peeling off after 2 years.
Build quality no way near as good as it used to be.
Gone back to my trusty old Honda petrol mower this year! 10 years plus old started first time and has a great durable plastic deck with steel roller.
Avoid battery equipment very expensive and poor quality not built to last waste of money over £2,000

Great customer experience, both from Hayter and their local distributor/service agent Wycombe Garden Machinery.

Brought a hayter 56 from goodrowes Chichester, they said it was a good machine for commercial use so we spent £1,600:00 and gave it a try
Very quickly saw that it blocked the chute and also the bars between the roller and had to keep stopping to unblock it
Not good for a supposed commercial machine
The handlebars bent and broke and had to be welded but didn’t work because it’s so thin that there is nothing to weld to
It’s ok for short grass when it’s dry only , then will do a reasonable job,
As a commercial user I wasted my money as it’s not up to the job

Excellent service with trust and, hopefully, a financial saving using your fuel additive as opposed to the expensive white fuel!!

Good value and excellent fast delivery

Having purchased an electric Hayter Osprey 46 in March 2022 sadly some 2 years 2 months later it no longer works unless I spend c£400 on it with bearings having gone, self propeller not working and debris evidently stopping it working. This despite washing it after every use I am told it hasn’t been looked after properly as it needed to have a 12 monthly service despite there being no engine. My mistake and Hayter have not been empathetic or tried to do anything other than tell me I should follow their guidelines. Fair enough in some ways but when electric cars don’t need annual servicing any more strange that’s not the case with Hayter. Lessons learned and be warned…..
Update:
Following a request to email ‘Toro’ to look into the issue again. I have now been told just using the hose system “will not clear all the internally collected dust & debris” - not sure why I was asked to contact them again as this hasn’t added any value albeit now also learnt the hose mechanism doesn’t do too much then.

I bought a hayter 41 in September 2023. It leaked oil thru the air intake and saturated the paper filter. Oil dripped from the air intake on to the mower causing and the onto the grass. It went back for repair 4 times, each time taking several weeks. After threatening legal action I got a new mower. Guess what. It also leaked oil, also it surged (hunting) very badly. No recourse to the warranty as was 2-3 weeks out of the warranty. Now back to another mower shop. Waiting for a replacement carburettor part. £900 for a piece of rubbish.

I PURCHASED A HAYTER HARRIER 41 LAWN MOWER FOR £999 BACK IN JULY 2024. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS I STARTED TO NOTICE A PATCH OF FUEL OR OIL ON MY LAWN WHERE THE LAWNMOWER HAD STOOD FOR A FEW MOMENTS WHILST I CLEANED IT AFTER MOWING THE LAWN. NOW THE OIL , IT TURNS OUT TO BE ENGINE OIL, IS POURING OUT OF THE AIR FILTER. SINCE JULY I HAVE BEEN ON TWO HOLIDAYS AND SO ONLY USED THE MOWER HALF A DOZEN TIMES FROM NEW. A NEW MOWER SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS. I HAD HEARD THAT THE HAYTER IS THE ROLLS ROYCE OF LAWN MOWERS BUT MY EXPERIENCE IS VERY MUCH CITROEN 2CV.
