if you are stuck with this timeshare…
if you are stuck with this timeshare rent it!
What a scam.
What a scam.
Time share is a scam. Check your app. You can book the same rooms for the same cost of how much you pay for a time share FYI.
Found this out after going to their stupid presentation and being told I couldn't buy a time share because I was divorced and couldn't find a certificate to show them proof. Walked me out like a criminal. Rude, rude front desk lady. LOL WHAT A JOKE.
Every single person is a liar
Every single person is a liar. No member perks ever unless you do a member review with pushy sales people. Do not let them scam you!
Destination Exchange a Scam
Since HGV have taken over Diamond Resorts, their Customer Service and flexibility. It takes forever to get an answer. The Destination Exchange option unfairly costs you to bank your points, that you have already paid for. Very disappointed.
This is a shameless scam
This is a shameless scam. You can never book, the availability is dreadful. We were lied to by the salesperson about resale value. It’s peanuts with %25 of the sale going to HGV on top. The operating fees cost over $2000 a year and we haven’t managed to stay in the 5 years we have owned our New York timeshare! We need a group of owners to take class action against HGV for mis selling time shares. Are there any Ellen Brokovitches out there??. We are in UK and feel powerless.
WORST DECISION EVER!!
WORST DECISION EVER!!
WORST DECISION EVER!!! DONT GO WITH DYMOND RESORTS/HGV
Wouldn’t even recommend this to my worst enemy, the whole thing was a setup from the beginning. Was told to lie about income and marriage status just to see the presentation…which was all a joke . The one who sold the dream idea to me at the Cancun resorts said the points are equivalent to dollars. So if I wanted to book a room that’s worth $200 it would be 200 points give or take a few .Was told the club fee was $932 Then it changed to $1850 with no real explanation. THEN for 10k over a term of 10years I would get 55k points . To book a room it’s a minimum on 30k points soooo to spend almost $11,100 to vacation somewhere one time out of 10years is ridiculous. And lve been having the hardest time reselling/finding a creditable attorney. It’s better to save your money and plan the trips out yourself vs a time share. The customer service they have is the worst I’ve ever experienced, the amount of times I’m hung up on and told different information depending on who I’m talking to is ridiculous. Also after signing up they said I didn’t have to go to the new member orientation then two weeks later a lady called and extremely tried to pressure me into going and spoke super fast like they all do. If I can save everyone from signing up I would. I can go on forever but the biggest corporation scam I’ve ever experienced. I couldn’t have a job being so misleading my whole life like them.
Ownership in HGVC is worthless
Ownership in HGVC is worthless, too many miscellaneous fees, expensive maintenance fees, no flexibility in using points, not worth it all!!! Don’t believe the sales pitch!!!
the Hilton time share people will promise anything for the saleare…
the Hilton time share people are constantly calling us. So I said I would do it if they could guarantee trump tower on certain date spent 55 minutes with salesman while he confirmed he had that booked Called back 3 weeks later to book our presentation time only to be told they had no availability at the trump. the salesman will say anything to get you to buy the package but good luck after that.

Given an outdated voucher at end of HGV presentation and later, after realizing this and requesting a new voucher, were denied the appropriate and promised compensation.
We attended a presentation on January 9, 2023 to determine if we wished to make a purchase. We chose not to do so. Upon departure we were given a voucher for up to $200 to be used within 6 months at a Hilton property. We had to choose which brand up front, which I thought was unusual and frankly unnecessary as long as it was a Hilton property.
When we started to use the voucher, we realized 2 things. First off we had not stayed at the Brand that was specified on the voucher.
Second and more importantly, we realized that the voucher was dated to expire on 7/09/2022, not 2023. Thus it was no good for us anyway.
After making multiple calls to Hilton I got through to someone that I thought was going to help us get a replacement voucher.
In the end the CSR told me that their marketing department did like to re-issue vouchers like this. She then offered us 15,000 hilton reward points instead, telling me that this represented a night's stay.
Fact is, it might represent less than 1/2 the points needed for a nights stay based on most of the locations that I reviewed. I emailed this CSR about this months ago but they have been unresponsive.
It is unfortunate that we were treated in such a disrespectful manner from all involved. We generally like Hilton properties but will have to reconsider our position. We certainly would not trust HGV as they did not prove themselves to be honest or trustworthy.
A Horrible Honolulu Scam
I was "recruited" by an HGV representative - Alex Robinson - while asking for directions at the Ala Moana Information Centre. He talked me into attending a 2-hour presentation, on the basis that if I did so HGV would offer me free accommodation for one night.
This seemed too good to be true, but given the hotel prices in Honolulu it seemed worth it; so, despite having a full and exciting holiday itinerary, I cancelled my agenda for that day and took them up on their offer.
The presentation itself was OK, but the moment it was over the pressure was cranked up to sign a 5-year contract on the spot. There were of course special offers which would only be available if I signed up there and then. When I waivered, more special offers were pulled from a seemingly endless reservoir of special offers. I declined, and the atmosphere changed fairly quickly.
I was immediately shown the door.
On checking out, I asked the sales team and the administrator, Erika Ancheta, how to claim my one night free accommodation. I was told it had nothing to do with the presentation team, and could only be arranged by the person who had promoted it, Alex. I contacted Alex who told me it could only be arranged by the sales team on the ground.
From then on, both parties from HGV refused to return my calls and continue to do so to this day.
Reading all the reviews on here, it is clear that this is an on-going scam by ruthless con-artists, and it is a real shame that Hilton has lent its name to this. This experience was an unpleasant diversion from what was otherwise a lovely holiday.
There is no benefit to ownership/membership, only the ILLUSION of benefit.
The word disingenuous could have been invented to describe the HGV sales force. It’s not what they tell you, it’s what they DON’T tell you. They didn’t lie (except in one instance), but they never told us the WHOLE story. We consider the purchase of our HGV share the single biggest mistake we’ve ever made in our 49 years of married life.
We attended TWO sales presentations. One in Washington, D.C., and one in Myrtle Beach, SC. We told both sales representatives the same thing – HGV does not match the way we travel and would not be a good fit for us.
Most HGV resorts are oriented to beach goers and golfers. We do neither.
Most of our travel is international, and HGV is not located where we want to go.
We don’t go to one place for a week or more, we got to one COUNTRY, sometimes more than one.
At the second sales presentation, which was much more elaborate, the salesman said HGV would still work for us because of all the ways you can exchange points – cruises, tours, RCI properties, etc. It was based on these exchange opportunities as presented to us that we bought our share.
Our first attempt at using it was for something we specifically asked the salesman about – Viking Cruises. The salesman said we could exchange for that. What he DIDN’T SAY – the exchange rate for a Viking Cruise is FOUR PERCENT! So if we used all of our 7680 annual points, we would get only $370 off the price of the cruise. We would be SPENDING $1958 in annual maintenance fees to save $370 dollars on a cruise. Also, that’s not counting any exchange fee we would be charged on top of that. How stupid is that?
Our next attempt was to book an RCI exchange property. HGV and RCI advertise 4200+ locations worldwide. What they DON’T SAY – a property is only available for exchange if the individual condo owners make it available. So there are some locations with NO availability because none of the individual owners have made their condos available for exchange - EVER. Also, some of the properties have limitations such as seven night stays only, not to mention only available at certain times. Bottom line – we have not been able to find a single RCI property available where we want to go, when we want to go there. And we do not normally travel in peak seasons. We normally travel in the spring and fall.
Our next attempt was an exchange for a tour to Spain. In this case, the exchange rate was nine percent. So, in this case, if we were to use all our annual points we would be spending $1958 to save $691, plus any exchange fee we would be charged. Still stupid.
Finally, we get to the one outright lie. At the second presentation, I specifically asked the question: “Do owners ever have to pay for parking?”. I asked this, because many properties have parking fees, and we had to pay it at our first presentation. The one successful use of our HGV membership has been to book a stay at the District Club in Washington, DC. When I booked it, I was told I would have to pay $55.00 a night for parking, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY! They couldn’t even guarantee I would be able to park there! Interestingly, I found a parking garage right next door that only costs $18.00 a night, plus it has chargers for my electric car.
They tell you that you can exchange HGV points for Hilton Honors points on an exchange rate of 16 to 1 (really poor when you do the math). What they don't tell you - you can't do that in the current year. You can only exchange NEXT YEAR'S points, and they don't become effective until Jan 1st of that year.
If it was possible to give this zero stars, I would.
Donot fall for this financial drain however convincing you feel
This is the review about HGV's cheap accomodations in return of attending timeshare presntation.
I had booked my vacation in Vegas for the last week of September. The bookings were done somewhere in June. Everything was confirmed and I also called a week before my travel to confirm my stay and was assured everything was set. On the day I arrived, the concierge tells me that the stay was CANCELLED!! And they confirmed that when I called a week back. This was never notified to me and luckily they had a stay available in one of the other properties however this left a bad taste in my mouth.
Their timeshare presentation was immaculate, will definitely make you want to buy into it but be aware, nothing is transparent. There are no terms and conditions or documents that you can review to make a decision and the fact that they want you to make a decision on the same day for such a huge commitment without providing any documents means they want to pull a fast one over you. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR TACTICS!!
However one refreshing fact we experienced unlike other was the sales people were not very pushy and it was a smooth sailing.
Do not do this
Worst decision I ever made. I finally got out of it but had to pay off my balance in full and a time share exit team to help. Nothing is ever available. One of the reasons for this is the rooms and suites that members should be entitled to are being sold to the general public for top dollar on other online reservation sites, thereby decreasing so-called time share "owner" availability. Used it once in the couple of years I was a member and they harassed me constantly to attend another presentation to try and sell me more points for time shares that were never available.
I went on the one in Vegas they hit us…
I went on the one in Vegas they hit us up in the hotel lobby of golden nugget..and my fiance had never did one before and I was like wth 🤷🏾♀️ free Starbucks coffee and 200 bucks in gambling money to start out vacay ..I said let's do it..and I told him the deal ..it was fun laughing and listening to the same spill I hadn't heard in 20 yrs.. nothing has changed it's still bogus..of course we didn't buy but the funny part is the 6other couples that were on our bus did after we discussed it smh..I was like ur kidding me lol 😂😂
After chatting it up with the sales person I handed him off to my fiance who has a serious face all the time lol ..it was too funny he was like I'm good..and it's like the 3 ghost in the Christmas story come to u past, present and future.....any way we were out in our 90mins with our goodies and something to laugh about for yrs to come!!
Off to a bad start
I want to say upfront that I haven't yet taken my vacation, but I just finished paying for and booking it, so I am reviewing that experience. The booking experience has been such that I will probably never book another vacation with Hilton Grand Vacations, and will likely avoid Hilton hotels moving forward.
The bad:
1) I was sold a cheap vacation after signing up for a Hilton Honors account. The initial deal sounded good, however, as described below, I didn't get an accurate picture of what to expect.
2) I've made over 10 calls with Hilton trying to book a hotel. My goal was to book any hotel in Hawaii (except Honolulu). I made these calls in September of 2022 trying to book *any* HGV hotel in January, February or March of 2023, however there was NO availability. I also said I would pay for an upgrade (to a suite) if I get the location and dates I preferred, however again, NO availability.
2) I ended up booking a hotel in Honolulu, however Hilton couldn't even tell me what Hotel I would be staying in. This really sucks as I only like 2 out of their 8 options in Honolulu.
3) I learned on the call after I made my final payment that I would have to sit through one of those dreadful presentations to buy a timeshare, this was not communicated to me during the sales process.
4) I have not received a single email from Hilton confirming that I have paid for, or booked the vacation; I did receive multiple emails reminding me to book my vacation, and submit my final payment. I find it odd to not receive any sort of confirmation after I have paid for a vacation product.
5) The HGV website is extremely slow. Minor issue relative to the above points, but every time I used it, I would click a link and have to wait 20-30 seconds for pages to load, despite being on a very fast internet connection.
The semi-positive:
1) Having called Hilton many times now, I will say that I talked to a couple very nice and helpful representatives. I also talked to a few that were not helpful, so I'm neutral on their phone service, at best. It lacked consistency, but I would recommend hanging up and calling back in if you get someone who is rude or not helpful.
The lady named Shaniesha and Genevieve…
The lady named Shaniesha and Genevieve are very rude and hung up on me. It’s very rude to treat customers that way. Poor professional customer service and they don’t care about customer satisfaction. The worst treatment of customer service in Hilton Vacation. These people give a bad review to this company. They should not work here. Awful service from these two ladies who ruined my birthday vacation with my husband. We wanted to stay at the Signia by Hilton in Orlando and that couldn’t happen then we had to switch to Las Vegas and get airplane tickets that cost more money on the dates they required us and not the dates we wanted. I was asking for 50,000 points extra for the inconvenience of everything we going through. Still couldn’t satisfy a customer.
We just had the worst
We just had the worst, worst experience with them. I mean never ever again.
I went to the Hilton Vacations…
I went to the Hilton Vacations presentation. They are using mind control techniques to try to get people to commit to paying monthly fees for the vacation purchase for perpetuity. This is not only for our own lifetime but these fees get passed on to your heirs if you heir your vacation to them. Otherwise the whole thing gets cancelled and your investment is kept by Hilton. They tease you with a story about the cost of travel, which is already inflated and compare it to the cost that they charge. They do not emphasize the fees that go on in perpetuity. Then they tell you that there are deals they will only offer that day (which is a high pressure sales tactic) saying there is no high pressure. If you do a search online for Hilton Grand Vacations fraud or scam, you will see over 90% of the reviews are negative. Most are owners who are unhappy, eventhough they claim most owners are happy. Most say that availability is not good. They do not address this in the sales presentation. If you want to hear the presentation, go ahead but read reviews before you go.
Program has no value & is supported by unscrupulous representatives.
We are unfortunately members and have found HGV to be devoid of value. They have very limited availability, average at best properties and no ethics. We recently wrote a Better Business Bureau review and the company contacted us. They offered to help us understand and use our membership. They don’t get it- the program is a scam. HGV is nothing if not tone deaf. Here is our response to them- use the info to inform your decision. Buyer beware- do not join!
“Thank you for your response. We understand the program and how to use it. Unfortunately, it takes far too much effort to actually use benefits due to low availability at any moderately interesting properties.
We sincerely regret becoming members & now realize that the value we expected to receive is not there, availability is very limited, and locations & resorts sub-par. Like others, we succumbed to high pressure, and close to unethical sales tactics. We have read other similar reviews & note there is a class of individuals who share our feelings & feel aggrieved by the process, the pressure that comes with membership & the inability to withdraw.
This will become an unwelcome financial burden for our family so will investigate remedies individually & with other like-minded members.
I have advised the Consumer Agencies to which I already reported that HGV tried to contact us, and will provide them a copy of this email.”
