Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs

Hilton Grand Vacation Clubs - Attempted to book my first small trip to try out the program. It was going to cost a year worth of points for 3 nights in Las Vegas (not Hawaii, Italy, Greece or Maldives) more depending where booked. Thought, I would use RCI but with all the fees it costs at least as much as booking a hotel without any plan. $20,000 plus HOA and/or maintenance fees, activtation fees, fees to schedule, fees to move points, resort fees and parking fees. Limited availability. Called and talked to booking representative thinking I had to be missing something. They confirmed all the expenses and didn’t have a cost resonable suggestion. Said I could ask the hotel to waive fees when checking in but that would be up to the hotel and there was not any guarantee. I am feeling like I made a very expensive mistake. Wife is already talking about canceling and eating the $20,000 to save on all the fees. Smooth talking sales people.

Absolute Scam

Absolute Scam. I paid for the package and found they never can accommodate my schedule, only theirs.
Working with them for a couples years and never could find a desired location when I could travel.
So far their customer service is absent.

I thought Hilton Grand Vacation was a reputable company with brand integrity. When I was solicited to purchase a vacation package and given the sales spiel, I trusted what I was told because its Hilton Grand Vacation. They offered what I thought was a great deal at a good price and topped it with no expiration date. "You can take your vacation whenever you like, it doesn't expire" says the sales agent. Sounds great, I purchased the package. Fast forward to today I call to redeem the package and I'm told by another rep my vacation package has been forfeited. Forfeited because the package purchased expired. How can a package I was told didnt have a expiration date expire? HVC Rep states all pkgs have a 2yr expiration. They can not/ will not reinstate my package. Disappointed but ok I ask for a refund of the package purchase amount, I'm told HVC will not refund my money because the pkg was forfeited. and there's nothing to be done about it. I could speak with a Supervisor but the results will be the same. HVC sold me a vacation pkg with under FRADULENT pretenses, an actual LIE and stole my money. I don't get the vacation I was looking forward to take and they keep my hard earned money. This is DISGUSTING!!! If the package is no longer available fine, but how does HVC get to keep my money on a vacation I didn't take??? Hilton Grand is a world renowned brand you wouldn't expect to be lied to and have your money stolen but they are clearly as SCAMMY as the other fraudulent companies selling vacation packages. BEWARE!!! what you're told in the sales pitch and sold is NOT what you get. Give me my money back please!

Misrepresentation

Good afternoon, I am a Hilton Honors Member that was misled by the HGV Marketing Team in Central Florida. They eagerly confirmed the dates and location I requested prior to accepting my cc payment. I then prepaid my flight and car rental based on the agreed upon dates. The next week, I got an email confirmation with dates two months earlier than the agreed upon dates! I was leery about paying HGV up front, but I trusted Hilton. The next two weeks were a customer service nightmare dealing with HGV support people. In addition to the HGV ``run around" the plane tickets are non refundable(357.00) and I can't change the PTO Days that were approved to be off work. I'm screwed. But I'm not going down alone. I'm cancelling my Hilton Honors Account, Hilton Honors AMEX Card and filing a complaint with the Orlando Branch of The Better Business Bureau against HGV for misrepresentation and "Bait and Switch" tactics involving the date change. I wanted to make sure someone's made aware of my disappointing experience with your HGV's sales tactics. Thank God this occurred prior to becoming an HGV Owner!!! Stick to the Hotel business and leave the timeshares alone, please.

Worst experience

I was approached with option of prepaying for a vacation package at an amazing discount and 50,000 points. I finally booked my prepaid vacation and when I get there everything was half of what I was told. From the beginning all the way to the booking I was told accommodations would be for two couples and then I get to the room there is 1 bed and not even a couch and then I’m told that I would have to pay for an upgrade to accommodate two .

Esto a sido la peor experiencia de mi vida , después de estar pagando 2 años seguidos y nunca pude hacer una reservacion y cuando fui a las Vegas al hotel cancun a cancelar o a que me dijeran que podía hacer para salir me dijeron que hilton gran había comprado a diamond resort y que para cancelar tenia que agarrar un nuevo contrato y luego cancelarlo en. Los días que es permitido y que así iba a poder salir de ambos contratos Esto lo dijo la representante que me atendió lo cual fue una gran mentira todo por que cuando llame a cancelar se negaron rotundamente lo que me ha hecho pensar que no se puede confiar en nadie nadie de estas personas por que nadie te va a ayudar ,ellos solo te hundiran más, yo grabe todo lo que me dijo esta persona y me iré a las últimas instancias para cancelar toda esta compañía que lo que hace es estafar a las personas, no contestan los teléfonos no le dan una solución,. No caigas en esto jamas

Terrible experience. Stay far away.

Diamond Resorts added all kinds of valuable promotions to our contract, then sold to Hilton, and now all the promotions have magically disappeared. In the last 18 months we have called 15 different people at HGV at over 20 different numbers and emails to recover these weeks. Hours and hours of wasted time. Crickets. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this outfit, which is an embarrassment to the Hilton name. If by some miracle they ever fix this, I will revise my review.

If you don't buy, they punish.

Some things went well - like most folks we found it hard and impossible to get the location we wanted. They offered us a 3 bed unit for the price of 2, so that was nice. However, when it came time for the refund after the sales pitch, we were told to wait 8-10 weeks for the refund. They could not put it back on our card. Our card number was changed due to fraud, but they could process the new card. After all they used it to charge us for the upgrade. So glad we did not buy, imagine how bad they would treat us once they had a contract.

Scammers, Stay Away !!!

Have been a Hilton member for many years and got a Vacation Club offer from HHonors.
The offer had dates that you could select from for a marketing presentation, after booking the dates and paying the money I contacted the agent to confirm.

I was then told that the dates were not actually available and that I could take a different set of date.
After going many rounds with that agent and then calling back two more times. Then called the service number to get a refund I was told that those dates have not been available for months, there is not a supervisor to talk to and a request to talk to anyone above her will take at least 72 hours.

The fact that the system allowed those dates to be requested with the dates not being available for months is the pure definition of running a scam.

Still no rebate for spend the night on…

Still no rebate for spend the night on us. They make you pay for everything up front and promise a rebate via giftcard in 8-10 weeks. It’s over 10 weeks. You can’t get through to speak to a live person , the system hangs up on you. The website they list states page not found. And still no rebate. Pretty pathetic Hilton Grand Vacations.

I joined Hilton Grand Vacations in…Nevada

I joined Hilton Grand Vacations in order to become "an owner." After signing up, I decided to conduct additional research, and the opinions of current "owners" influenced me to change my mind. You have only 5 days (including holidays and weekends) to terminate your contract with Hilton Grand Vacations. I emailed and called the contract specialist who assisted me with the initial transactions, but no one even acknowledged my emails. I eventually made contact with the Nevada state realtors commission office, and they assisted me in canceling on my fifth-day! They are fast to sell you points and packages and will spend hours selling you your goals and dreams, but if you decide to withdraw your transaction, no one will assist you, no one will answer the phone, and no one will respond to your emails or phone calls. They prefer that you enter into a legally binding contract and receive your money for the remainder of your life. The fact that they are so shady after you sign the contract is a red flag and a sign to me that the entire enterprise is a fraud, and you should not sign up to become "an owner." For the remainder of your existence, they will own you and your money. If you want to go on vacations, you should save money and look for discounts at various locations. It is not Hilton Grand Vacations.

Everything was wrong, wrong, wrong

Everything was wrong. When I booked with HGV they told me they had availability at the Doubletree in Myrtle Beach, SC on the south side. When I looked at the pictures the rooms looked dated. She advises me that the hotel had been renovated. Fast forward to May 18, 2023 my husband and I arrived to this hotel. As we arrived I noticed a trailer park across from the hotel which is a no for me. The outside of this hotel look like traffickers are in and out. We get to our room the door looks like as if someone had tried to force the door open all chipped up and banged, the smell omg the smell was horrible, the wooden tables in the room and bathroom were so old and chipped, the floor had all kinds of nasty stains, the lamp shade was ripped and old and not matching with the other lamp. I was so disgusted and angry. We called the front desk and asked for a room change and we did. When I told the guy about the smell he says to me that’s because people don’t leave the patio door open for ventilation. I looked at him like he was crazy. The room smell because the carpet is dirty and filthy, it’s a trap hotel. Anyway, they must have sent someone to spray the second room before I came to look at the other room because the room smelled fresh. We changed rooms still everything else was the same as the other room. We went out to eat came back and the room smelled horrible. Back at square one with a second room and room was dated like the first. I slept fully clothed on top of the comforter. I refused to sleep under the sheets. I called HGV the next morning to explain the situation. At first they tell me that I would have to pay 150.00 for not coming to the time share. I told them why would I waste more of my time when I’m already unhappy, I’m not staying in a raggedy hotel. I didn’t drive six hours to stay in a raggedy hotel. They claim they had no other hotels to book me and husband at. I told them that’s funny, all the resorts or hotels you have are booked except for doubletree. When I booked they kept telling me that the the doubletree was the only hotel left. They end up waving the 150.00 fee and I told them I want more points so they increased my 15,000 to 30,000 points and I’m able to book somewhere else when I’m ready to book again. Never again I will stick with just Hilton and not HGV. How do they expect for you to purchase a timeshare but you put your people in a raggedy hotel or resort. I wish I could upload pictures. We got there in the 18th and left on the 19th of May, 2023 and we drove to Fayetteville,NC and stayed at the Embassy. It was a way better choice. HGV better not never, ever, say anything else to me about a promotion. They can keep it.

FORGED our initials on a contract!

We sat through a HGV presentation and decided not to purchase. Once our sales rep left another guy came and sold us on their VIP experience... He told us we would be able to use it in Sint Maarten and would not have to sit through another presentation and that it would be like we had already purchased the timeshare. (This was appealing since we would use it for our honeymoon) We went to book and we were told that we could not use it in Sint Maarten. After my fiance and I discussed we decided we would change our destination and go to Hawaii instead. We went to book, and then the lady taking our reservation told us what day we would have the presentation. I immediately told her that we purchased it because we wouldn't have to do another presentation. She then told us in our contract we signed off that we agreed to that. Luckily, I still had our contract. There was a line through the "stipulations" saying that we would NOT have to do that again. She informed us the one she has had our initials! I asked her to send that contract to me. Someone had FORGED our initials!! She immediately got her manager on the phone; he told us he would void the contract and give us a full refund! 6 weeks later we have received a PARTIAL refund! I went to call them and ask about the balance and the number on the email (confirming the cancelation and would receive the full refund) and it is not a valid number!

I cannot believe a brand like Hilton can get away with actions like this! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!!

Stay away from HGV

After I contacted Hilton on 1 May 2023; and booked a room, my call was transferred to an associate at the Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV). I was told by HGV staff Magnus that if I listened to a promotional material (aka sales pitch on timeshare), points would be added to my Hilton membership account right away.

Alas, it's 10 May 2023 now; but no points were added. I called up HGV; but my call was passed from one representative to another. The last call was with HGV staff Davara - unfriendly and rude.

To keep the long and very unpleasant call short, HGV does not honor its promise. Lesson learned - stay away from Hilton Grand Vacations!!!

Hilton Grand Vacations HGV is a scam

Hilton Grand Vacations is a scam. #hgvscam,we were sold HGV timeshare at Cabo Azul by sales person Jose Luis P Franco and Sales manager Tim Cooper. We were scammed and defrauded out of our money. Please contact FTC and FBI to complain about them.
1. We were told we will have access to Hilton properties. Once our account was activated that took 3months, when on HGV website there were NO HILTON hotels to book! We looked in Miami, Utah and Tahoe! None of the properties that they showed us was available or would even come up under search!!!
2. Properties that were showing up were are low grade and didn't look anything like the ones they showed us
3. When trying to book the low grade Hotels so we can at least use our points, nothing was available! Not even 6 months in advance. But when try to book online on our own with out our points, there are plenty of availability!!!
4. Our point system was way over valued, we were promised and even shown on computer that our 10000 points can buy us couple of vacations a year at Hilton properties! Not only that was a lie but our points won't buy us anything but maybe a 3 day vacation stay in Cabo which costs way way less when you book on your own.
Don't do it. It's a scam. Report them to authorities, this practice has to stop.

Horrible customer Service

I have been a customer of HGVC for about 5 years. We hardly use the resorts, and now that we live in Europe, we have been calling to try and change our home resort from NYC to somewhere in Europe. We have been trying for the last 3 weeks to speak to someone ( anyone) who could help and tell us the steps we needed to take. We have called AT LEAST 15 times ( long distance charges) and I literally just get passed on from one person to another. I leave messages, have sent emails and ZERO response. Funny how when they are trying to sell you something they know how to reach you yet when you need information - literally, NO response, NO help and NO interest. I should have gone with another time share...one more interested in providing service as opposed to collecting your money. Go elsewhere if you can help it.
