Was great. Nice and easy

Two stars just because the staff was friendly.
So many hidden charges! Online said 57$ for a two hour hire. Booked it. Then received a call saying they didn’t have the truck we booked at the location and needed to go to another location. But also pay extra over the phone for platinum insurance. We didn’t want to give our bank details over the phone. Headed to the other location, and were told we could not rent the truck with the standard insurance selected and had to get premium because we had ticked the credit card box (it only says visa not credit card when you book online). So we were forced to pay 60+ for insurance (more than the truck hire). Then the bond which is fine and then the mileage which is in the fine print so fine. The truck was old and clearly needed a service as the transmission kept jumping very abruptly (yes we know how to drive trucks, not our first time). What we though would be a 57$ hire jumped up to $135$…
If that’s the price, then fine but Hireace need to be more transparent with costs. If I could, I would have cancelled and found better hires out there. Very very very disappointing.

The team at the store are helpful. The issue is with their bond refunds. They use the excuse that "it's the banks fault" for any delays but all other bond refunds are paid (hotels, service stations etc) much faster than theirs. This suggests that their internal processes are the actual cause and they don't seem to care. I hired multiple vehicles during the last few weeks and have had to chase for the bonds. Suspiciously the first time I rang to chase the bonds, they told me the 2nd Bond was due to paid the next day. Which raises the question "If it is the bank that is the issue how did they know the bond was going to be paid?". Use other firms until they sort their bond processes.

My husband rented a car to see his sick mother recently and received a traffic fine. We are in Australia. The fine was $30 NZD. Hireace sent us a bill for $40 (took it from our credit card) just for receiving the bill and had a long winded email that upon further reading was just for paperwork - they didn't even cover the fine with the $40. Now we have a court fine for $85. This is crazy. Just pay the fine with the credit card on file. $40 admin fee for a fine is RIDICULOUS and so undercutting. They made no attempt to make it right. Will not EVER rent from them again on our returns home to NZ.

Your customer service rep was brilliant. She made the entire experience so good and lovely that I want to go back just because she was so easy to like and do business with.

Reduction of one star because your parking is non-existent for pick up or drop off.

Amazing and so helpful, I needed truck for an extra day or two. The staff were amazing and so caring and kind.

The help I received when I called the phone number was really encouraging, especially at a stressful time such as booking flights and accommodation for a large group and co ordinating everything to meet at the same times. The staff were helpful and reassuring which gave me confidence in my bookings

Left my phone in the van and spent all night searching for it. Got a call on the next day, Sunday from them telling me they had it safe and i can pick it up anytime. Great service. Cheers

Staff adjusted the rental to work for our needs. The moving truck was in great condition and was very easy to use.

Today I rung to cancel our van as our driver and their family where overcome with the sudden death of their nephew. This meant we didnt require this van to travel to our event, when asked for a full refund we were told by the customer service person "Im sorry but the policy states that you need to give us 48hours notice and because you have not done this we can only refund you 50% of what you paid". Shocked that someone would say this, considering we have spent thousands of dollars hiring vans and shuttles from this company. The only way we could receive full refund was to ask the family for a death certificate - this is too intrusive to say the least, this young human passed away tragically and the family are devastated and will grieve for a long time, do these policy writers understand what its like to lose a loved one! We feel saddened that companies who are making so much money can not even provide empathy is these situations. "Our recommendation that the policy be changed to insert a clause to support families in overwhelming circumstances in regards to bereavement" Please trust we do not wish this to happen to others and therefore we will be seeking other avenues to hire our vehicles in the future.

Very easy to deal with and there were no issues either when I got a little late returning the vehicle. The van I hired was in good shape. Overall a great experience.

My initial contact was online wanting information. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and her professionalism was evident.

Easy booking and helpful quick answer on checking location of Wellington Depot.
Very cheap price, probably because van was quite old.
Helpful friendly staff on pick up and drop off. The man was good in explaining how to accelerate along lane and let van coast up slope to avoid wheel spin.
He took me around exterior and showed me existing paint work faults. On return he checked quickly around and was happy. I didn't cause any more scrapes.
Vehicle was very suitable for a cargo van, very functional and good to drive. The interior roof was worn but this did not matter in a cargo van. Power was down a bit on a steep Ngauranga gorge but this was expected with a heavy load and not a problem.
I explained that we would be moving plants and would sweep out the interior. He said no problem the interior did not need to be perfectly clean. So I swept out out with a broom and he was happy with cleanliness.
Overall a very good hire.

It was very easy to book online and collect the trailer I hired from Hire Ace in Grey Lynn. The trailer was clean and just the right size. The Hire Ace staff helped me with hooking uo the trailer and were able to extend my hire time if required. I would definitely recommend them.

Very easy to deal with. Excellent cargovan for the trip to Wellington and back to Christchurch moving my sons belongings.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Even when I couldn't get the truck going, someone came out and helped to get it going. And when I arrived back at the depot with literally one minute to spare, they were really good about it.

The team at HireAce was super friendly and both drop-off and pick-up. They made sure we were able to access the features of the van and even guided us in and out of the tight parking spaces in Glenfield. We would be happy to use HireAce again.

Exceptional service! The team at Mt Wellington gave me great advice and helped me select the van which would work best for me. They were also invaluable in letting me know about their package for moving house which included blankets, ties and a trolley. Easy pick up and drop off with the team being friendly and calming throughout. Highly recommend
