Late delivery: arrived after 25 days, not the maximum 12 promised. Arrived after Christmas. Note that the reviews here are nearly all 1*. On Home and Oak's own site they are virtually all 5* with occasional 4*. Presumably the reviews are fake. I have asked twice for a refund due to the late delivery. I await a sensible reply

Don't use this company, poor quality Chinese products. After I emailed complaining they sent instructions to return but at my own expense so I won’t bother as not convinced I’ll get a refund. . It is NOT a British company it looks on the website. It’s based in Malta and items made and dispatched from China.

Very expensive toys for what you get! Clever marketing but a complete rip off.

After seeing it advertised on social media and thinking it would be perfect for my Batman-obsessed son, I ordered a Batman superhero card wallet. The video online showed a UK driving licence being slipped into the wallet and the Batman cut-out fitting perfectly over the licence holders face.

The reality was that it didn’t line up at all and I felt I had wasted £23 on a useless flap of cheap imitation leather that was shoddily made and not fit for purpose.

When I emailed to request a replacement with the cutout in the correct position, it was like pulling teeth. It took several emails to and fro, during which apologies were made and I was invited to return the item for a full refund. However, I would have to pay the shipping fees. To China.

I explained that they had sold me something not fit for purpose and required either a replacement or a full refund without charge.

I was eventually offered a pathetic 10% refund and refund of the shipping fees.

It took several weeks. They refunded me 10% of the product price and forgot about the shipping fees.

I wish I had checked reviews on here first, as I would never have dealt with such a shoddy, badly-run company whose primary objective seems to be to sell poor quality product and then irritate the hell out of its rightfully disgruntled customers by email.

I would never deal with these incompetent shysters again and hope that their company collapses as quickly as their cruddy products.

Similarly to other reviews the product was very poor. Substandard quality to what was advertised, incomplete, and also broken when recieved. Contacted the company but I not expecting to get anywhere with that. Money down the drain but lesson learned.

Avoid this company. They are a Chinese drop shop who sent out poor quality products with a long lead time. After emailing them to request a return and refund on receipt of the damaged box they sent in a plastic bag, I’ve had no reply. Don’t waste your money, go elsewhere.

If you want a refund you have to post to China, no where on the website does it tell you that!

I ordered a toy for a 4 year-old's birthday, it did not arrive in the time promised therefore I had to buy an alternative gift. When it did arrive it had been shipped all the way from China, it arrived in a battered box with instructions in Chinese. The toy is flimsy. Customer Care email response is very slow, you send an email and receive a reply around one to two weeks later and now they want me to ship the item back to China as they do not have a UK address. It does not state on the website that returns must go back to China. I think this needs to be made much clearer. I have no idea what the cost will be to ship the item back. Also their 14 day returns policy is nonsense they hardly reply to you in this time rather than actually accept the goods back in order to refund you. I am worried if I do send the item back how long will it take to receive a refund. The website looks as though everything would be readily available in the UK. I would not recommend or use again.

Very much the same story as others on here: a misleading online store that more or less gives an impression to be British and even shows a big warehouse on Youtube. But in reality it is a product from China which is near impossible to return. At least it is not a scam site and communication was ok, but I have to say the product is not particularly high quality and can be purchased in the UK at a much cheaper price. I would not advise to buy anything off their site unless you want to wait around, take a chance on the quality and have no real option to return or get a refund. And just to round it off, I have constructed the toy and there are no clips to hold the balloons on the men. A pile of rubbish from this seller, avoid them at all costs.

Really a scam company pretending to be British but are a cheap unreliable Chinese company. My order took weeks to arrive and the box was in terrible shape. Zero effective communication

Costs I only wish I had read the reviews before ordering ,the website looks like a uk based company it is china drop shipping ,the quality of the toys were absolutley terrible and such high prices ,the quality is so bad I would not trust my grandchildrens safety ! £217.00 spent on rubbish

Please avoid this company. Eventually the product arrived after 4weeks. Poorly packed, very poor materials, the instructions are horrendous but even worse they send 2 huge sewing needles to pop the balloons, surly can’t meet any standards. Obviously I have emailed to return and try to refund my money but I have no hope this will happen. They need reporting

a CHINESE dropshipper selling counterfeit and SHODDY goods. Really poor stuff, unsafe, badly made, and 10x the price you'd pay for the same rubbish elsewhere. Avoid. avoid avoid.

Edit: I wrote the below review before Christmas but, since then, the items I ordered have arrived (on New Year's Eve). I thought, to be fair, I should update my review. I have upgraded from 1 to 3 stars because, first off: it is not a scam site (as I had feared): just a Chinese drop-shipping site. Secondly, the quality of the products was actually fine/good (these were just small gifts - 2 x duelling balloon men and a watercolour painting book). If it were not for the excessively long shipping time - which meant they did not arrive in time for Christmas - and the lack of response from their customer service, I would probably give 4 stars. But I wouldn't order anything from this Home N Oak again as the returns policy to China is just too complicated: expensive, slow and potentially unreliable, which is just too much of a risk. If you do order, leave plenty of time for delivery.

Original Review: Once again, I wish I had checked with Trust Pilot before ordering. As others have said, this looks like a UK firm making artisan products but in fact it is a Chinese drop shipping web site. Which means that I have ordered presents for Christmas 2 weeks ago, which still have not left China, let alone arrived (this written at 4.00pm on Christmas eve). It was only when I tried to work out where the hell the delivery was that it became clear that I am up the creek without a paddle and no recourse. I have not idea what the quality of the product is - judging by others' comments, it is pretty ticky-tacky. But I feel the whole site should be avoided as there is absolutely no recourse and ridiculously slow delivery. And if I now want to return the gifts I will have to pay for shipment back to China with absolutely no guarantees that any refurn will be forthcoming.

Agree with the other reviews, looks like you are supporting a small UK business but no communication, took over 2 weeks to arrive, I had actually thought it wouldn’t. When it did, poor packing and instructions. Almost half the price on Amazon, (but only 20 not 40 balloons), and am sure there would be a better service provided.

Buyer beware! Home&Oak seems to have all hallmarks of a scam. Their courier, WanBExpress, has no email, no phone number, and their registered business address appears to be an empty carpark...
Like many reviews here I ordered and paid for a balloon toy in early December. Needless to say, it never arrived and I have been offered a 20% refund. I do get emails from Vee, but she is stalling. I don't believe there was ever an intention to actually deliver a product!

Terrible. Just terrible. Would be no stars if I could. They give the impression of being a uk family company with handcrafted items. What arrived is cheap and awful and looks nothing like their advert. Imported from China which took over 3 weeks. No email communication available. Other providers on Amazon can do the same item cheaper and in better quality. Should be banned from advertising on social media. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

My item took longer than 14 days to arrive and the items are of poor quality with no instructions. The returns policy is limited to 14 days, so I cannot now return, although the delay is of the company's making
