Just awful!

I had an appointment today at 5:15pm as a new client with Kirsty. Unfortunately, I didn’t actually sit down with her until 6:00pm, despite arriving on time. I had a private appointment at 6:30pm, so by the time my haircut started, there were only 25 minutes available. The entire experience felt incredibly rushed and stressful.

Kirsty seemed very flustered, which I appreciate may have been due to the heat or how busy the salon was, but it resulted in a service that fell well below expectations. My haircut is an absolute mess. It has been cut much shorter than I asked for, particularly the layers, and the blow-dry was virtually non-existent.

To make matters worse, the assistant who washed my hair didn’t even use conditioner and appeared completely uninterested throughout. I ended up rewashing my hair as soon as I got home because it didn’t feel properly cared for.

What concerns me most is that Kirsty didn’t ask me where I normally wear my parting before cutting my hair, nor did she cut it according to my natural parting. From my understanding, this is a basic part of a professional consultation to ensure the haircut sits evenly and suits the client. The lack of consultation and attention to detail has left my hair uneven and extremely disappointing.

I am genuinely shocked and very upset by the whole experience. I’m going away tomorrow and specifically booked this appointment so I would feel confident for my trip. Instead, I’ve been left with a haircut I’m unhappy with and an experience that was stressful from start to finish.

I would appreciate this complaint being taken seriously and would like to discuss how the salon intends to put right

Hurley Burley are remarkable. Such good value for the quality of its service and its products. We ordered book corners and bookmarks at short notice for a presentation. They were produced quickly and beautifully and we could not be happier. Thoroughly recommend Hurley Burley

Extremely disappointing product and…

Extremely disappointing product and customer service.

My wife and eight-year-old daughter bought me one of Hurley Burley's personalised St Christopher bracelets as a Father's Day gift. My daughter chose the engraved words herself, which made the bracelet incredibly special to me.

Unfortunately, the engraved pendant detached from the bracelet within just a few hours of me wearing it for the first time. The charm then fell off and was lost. A piece of jewellery that falls apart within hours is clearly not made to an acceptable standard.

What made the experience even more disappointing was the customer service. The company initially tried to class this as a "lost item" rather than acknowledging that the pendant only became lost because it detached from the bracelet due to what appears to be a manufacturing fault.

After several emails explaining that the bracelet had only been worn for a few hours, I was eventually offered a replacement pendant, but only if I paid additional postage costs and returned the bracelet at my own expense. I do not believe customers should have to pay to rectify a fault that occurred almost immediately after purchase.

This completely ruined what should have been a lovely Father's Day gift from my wife and daughter. The engraved words chosen by my daughter had enormous sentimental value, and the company's unwillingness to take full responsibility for the faulty item has been extremely disappointing.

Sadly, I cannot recommend either the product quality or the customer service based on my experience.

Really pleased with my order

Really pleased with my order - a gift for my sister's birthday - which arrived quickly and well packaged. The team were great at responding to a couple of questions I had around personalisation before I placed the order too. Thank you!

Let me down

I ordered 2 personalised clutch bags for my twin nieces' 18th birthdays. On the day of their birthday Hurley Burley said they could not provide the bags and cancelled the order. So no presents on time for their birthday. Will never use this company again.

Want engraving? Go elsewhere & get it done properly.

Ordered my daughter a necklace & bracelet for her birthday, both with engraving. The bracelet never arrived and I had to message to get it sent.
The items themselves are fine but the “engraving” if you can call it that is shocking and unrecognisable.
It’s that small there is no point in getting it engraved at all. Nothing like the promotional picture, so if that is what you are basing your order off, don’t bother. I have been emailing the company since the 11th Feb, every picture I send of the necklace they state they can’t see the engraving so need another picture. I have explained over and over again that is my point, the engraving is that ridiculously small that you can’t see it!!
If you want engraved items of jewellery, honestly go elsewhere and have it done properly. It’s not worth the hassle from this place. I will be doing a charge back on my bank after getting nowhere with customer service.

Cheap and poor qualify

Ordered an item of jewellery, it arrived and the box it was boxed in was cheap and broken, the jewellery itself was poor quality and deformed. Would never order from here again.

I cannot give it a zero

I cannot give it a zero. I have never been so disgusted in all my life. I bought a bracelet with a locket on it as a memorial to my mother. I have had the bracelet for a month. In the bracelet was a small lock of my mother's hair so that I could keep her close to me. Losing my mother last year is devastating and grief is hard. The bracelet links have come loose due to faulty soldering. I contacted yourselves about this and was told it was my fault that the links had come loose, also that the warranty does not cover list items. The locket is lost due to por workmanship, it would not be gone if the links had been soldered properly. My grief is inconsolably and my heart aches so much. My link to my mother has gone, and according to your customer service it is my fault!

My partner recently bought me a ring…

My partner recently bought me a ring for Christmas with custom engraving. It arrived with some scratches and it didn’t look like it was in mint condition. Disappointed as we were, we then reported the issue to their customer service team.

They told us that the marks could easily be removed with a polishing cloth and then sent the ring back to us. The second time around didn’t really change much to be honest but I was happy to accept the few marks.

Since we received it back in January, I haven’t worn it once. After checking the box today, the metal was all discoloured and looked rather cheap. I must reiterate that I wore the ring for a few minutes when it was first gifted to me at Christmas (2025) and haven’t worn it since.

I’ve submitted a complaint and requesting a full refund as this isn’t good enough really. My partner paid for a quality ring but this is far from acceptable.

Very happy Hurley Burley customer

I have recently discovered Hurley Burley through Facebook adds and I treated myself to the 9ct gold T-bar necklace and 9ct gold square tube earrings and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The quality is excellent and jewellery is absolutely beautiful. Both pieces feel well-made, solid, and elegant.
