A mistake swiftly dealt with
I purchased a pair of headphones from the Stansted Airport store, unfortunatley when I opened the packaging on the plane the headphones were missing. I appreciate mistakes happen but companies should be judged on how they deal with them, I am pleased to say InMotion credited the transaction in full immediately once notified.

Awful customer service
Good luck if you want to return anything. Customer services treated me like I hurt them in some past life. Copied in the CEO for him to just pass it back to the same customer team to deal with me.
They even lost my package when sending my goods back to me.

Standard Airport earbuds
Wanted new earbuds as my AirPods Pro keep slipping out. Sales Associate guided me to a Bose product, which I wouldn’t not have automatically looked for. Solved my issues and great sound. Really appreciate the listening to my needs and the expertise. Fussy tech geek was impressed. Well done Stansted.

Warning!
Do not buy anything from this chain store that you could possibly want to return for any reason, including a defective product. I purchased some earbuds at their Ft. Lauderdale airport location that I discovered were defective while flying to Boston. When I landed I went to the Inmotion store there and with receipt in hand, tried to return them. I was told that without all of the original packaging, they could not accept it, but I could go online and file for a refund. So after completing the obnoxiously long and detailed RMA request form that is obviously intended to deter you, the warning notices that void a return pop up, which include one stating that without all of the packing material in its original condition, they will not accept the return, and in bold print it reads, "No Exceptions". Since you have to tear apart the packaging to open it (no scissors at the airport), they apparently count on the fact that most people will toss it out, as did I. So unless you travel illegally with scissors or a box cutter, you will get to keep whatever you buy at these stores, no matter what's wrong with it. They also require you to pay for your return. So should you try, and they don't accept it (which it appears that they almost certainly won't), you get to add the insult of going through this process to the injury of paying for shipping, only to get it rejected. Nice policy!

On the 10th February 2025 at approximately 09:15 I was in the Inmotion store in Manchester Airport Terminal 2 (where the phones and tech was on sale), as I walked into the store there was a group of three men huddled together in the middle of the store. After one with a beard looked at me he said to his colleagues’Avert your eyes’ and laughter ensued. I hung around for a while and it was clear they were playing a game to grade the women as they walked into the store.
Now - I work in a prison and I know this game in all its forms, goes on both by men and women. I have never been involved in this kind of behaviour it is both unprofessional and disrespectful to the person that has to overhear it.
We have a saying Challenge it Change it, where I work and I will be making more formal complaint to the company.
I didn’t challenge them as I know nothing would change unless I tell a manager- so I am hoping that the company will do something to ensure that other customers do not have to put up with these put downs and judgements on their physical appearance. The men need splitting up and should not be working together. In my experience this is the only way to stop this behaviour and ensure customers are not insulted as they shop.

I contacted customer services about an issue with a smart watch and received a very quick response and continued correspondence which resulted in returning the watch and receiving a full refund including postage costs
Refused to exchange defective headphones
Bought a defective set of headphones, and they don't want to know about it - said I need to talk to the manufacturer, despite UK consumer law clearly starting it is the retailer's responsibility. Not worth chasing for £30, but definitely avoid these rip-off merchants.
Purchased a Samsung mobile from Dublin…
Purchased a Samsung mobile from Dublin airport store.
Model sold was the 5G, but 4G version was provided to my wife.
My wife wouldn't have known the difference, and we were boarding by the time the issue was noticed.
But it felt a little bit like a scam, when provided with hardware that costs less in the store than what was paid.
Now, the support provided afterwards was good. A full refund, including postage was handled within a week.
I still think they should have just replaced the phone with the 5G model.
Staff in Dublin airport should be trained to know the differences though.
I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from their stores in the future. Especially if your not technology focused/aware.

A very rapid process. Pleasantly surprised how easy and quick this was.

I bought a headphone converter from whsmith that stopped working after about a month 1/2. I contacted the customer service team and they were very helpful, relaying information through email. Eventually I sent the item back to their offices with free post and was offered a full refund.
It was a good customer service experience from their team. However I had to give it only 3 stars as the item itself was faulty and caused more inconvenience to me. Having to iniate the refund process etc...
