Not authorized to issue International Drivers Permits
Only CAA is authorized to issue international driver's licenses in Canada. And they only charge $32 not $132.
This company claims to be "authorized", but no government body has authorized them to issue permits (verified in private correspondence). These are crooks.
They claim that IDP "permits" are just translations. From english to english?! Nonsense.

Resposta da International Automobile Authority
We appreciate you raising this point and understand the concern. To clarify — International Automobile Authority is a private document assistance service that helps travelers apply for and obtain International Driving Permits. We are transparent on our website that we are not a government agency, and we have never claimed to be authorized by any government body.
An International Driving Permit is a document recognized under the 1949 Geneva Convention and 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, accepted in over 150 countries. It translates your domestic license into multiple languages — not just English — so that foreign authorities, car rental agencies, and law enforcement can verify your driving credentials. Many of our customers use their IDPs successfully at car rental counters and police checkpoints around the world.
Our pricing reflects the full service we provide: application processing, document preparation across multiple languages, quality checks, customer support, and worldwide shipping. Organizations like CAA do offer IDPs at a lower cost, and travelers are always welcome to apply directly through those channels. Our service is designed for convenience, speed, and global support throughout the process.

We're sorry to hear this felt unexpected — that's not the experience we want for our customers. The expedited processing option is presented during checkout as an optional add-on, but your feedback tells us we need to make this clearer. We're reviewing our checkout flow to ensure all fees are unmistakably visible and easy to understand before payment. If you'd like a refund on the expedited processing fee, please contact our support team at hello@internationalautomobileauthority.com and we'll take care of it promptly. Your feedback is genuinely helping us improve.
Who are these people anyway?
Took for ever to photograph and down load, and then charged me for express download that I’m hadn’t asked for.

Quick and easy to use on line application
The online site was very quick and easy to use. I did my application using my cell phone. I was even able to take a selfie of myself and upload it for the required picture. Instructions and payment was very easy. I was even able to pay using my Apple Pay. I was worried doing all of this on line but it turned out to be easy and quick. An email confirmation was sent right away to the email that I had provided.

This is exactly what we love to hear! Thank you for sharing your real-world experience — knowing that your IDP worked smoothly at police checks across Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe is incredibly valuable feedback for other travelers considering our service. We're glad we could help make your travels easier. Safe travels on your next adventure!
Phishing and Misrepresentation
This company markets its service in a misleading way.
I paid for what was presented as an International Driving Permit.
Only after payment did it become clear that the document is not government-issued
and does not grant legal driving rights.
The product is essentially a private translation of a driving licence,
which is not what is implied during checkout.
I would not have paid if this had been clearly disclosed upfront.
I am now pursuing a chargeback and reporting this business to consumer authorities.
