Leah M from the Mere Green office- what can I say!! She has been the epitome of good customer service!! I can say that she does what she says she will do , when she says she will do it; keeps you updated, even if the news isn’t brilliant; is professional but very approachable.
Leah turned an awful experience we had as landlords into a happy resolution that my husband and I were very pleased with.

As a landlord, I’ve really appreciated the support I received from Lauren Foster during a particularly challenging period. She has been professional, easy to deal with, and communicated clearly throughout. I was kept informed at every stage, which made a stressful situation much more manageable. We have been with John Shepherd Birmingham for a year now and all I can say is they are the best team. My property manager (Gita) is always there to reply back both emails and calls on time whenever I have an issue. She always makes sure any repairs are sorted on time 👌

I would like to give a massive shout out to Lauren Foster for all the assistance and understanding for my struggles, without her agreement through my struggles, I would have found living very difficult and she has been very supportive all the way through, and the responses back has allowed me to not worry too much.

My agent Caitlin was very good and made the move process as quick and as painless as possible.
One annoying thing when dealing with this estate agent were the rings my guarantor had to jump through. He supplied photo ID, 3-months of payslips but was still told he needed to allow a 3rd party to link to his bank account to verify his pay. I don’t know when payslips became unsatisfactory, never had to do this before and was skeptical of allowing access.
They also requested to meet my guarantor in person with his ID, never heard that one before. After a back and forth they suggested using the post office to certify a copy for a small fee.
Finally, after all the issues with verifying my guarantor, I received an email that I still needed to supply my ID. I already signed the tenancy and had the keys to the property.
Overall, pretty bad experience, the staff are really friendly, the process they have in place is ridiculous, wouldn’t recommend

Lara Soars ‑ White & her team. Amazing people! Very understanding, and very professional! I'm currently a PhD researcher in the UK, and as a result I travel quite often. I rent a flat through John Shepherd and recently there was an oversight on my end that occurred while I was away. Lara drew it to my attention, and showed great understanding, support, and professionalism. This made me feel so relieved and at ease, and were able to get it resolved quickly! Thanks again Lara!

I experienced some issues due to the council not being informed of new tenant contracts, which unfortunately led to me being charged council tax incorrectly. While this was frustrating, Lara has been excellent in dealing with the situation. She has been proactive in sorting everything out, kept me well informed throughout, and communicated clearly at every stage. Lara has shown great professionalism and strong communication skills, and I really appreciate the effort she put in to resolve the matter.

Yet again still awaiting repairs I reported over 15 months ago, even with a council complaint saying away from the 28 days, this company still don't care. Sadly the landlord isnt interested either. Absolutely disgusting. Stil have had no resolve to my complaint to them.

First time we have used John Shepherd to help rent our property after the last tenant left in December 2025. The team, Caitlin and Senka, were in touch with us throughout the whole process from taking pictures, advertising, arranging viewings and conducting them, to arranging the contracts and getting everything in place has been seamless for us. Excellent service and we thank them both very much.

Alex was great in following up on all of the questions I had about the property. He even took personal time on his day off to help me view the property on the only day I had, he was always fast with his responses and agreed changes regarding the property for improvements with the landlord fast. Lovely guy and was happy to help any any time and was the fastest process I have ever had with an agency. He allowed me to look around without the sales pitches. It’s hard to come across and agent that you can trust but he has been a superstar and would highly recommend him. He is an asset to the John Shepherd agency. Thanks once again
