Can NOT recommend for commission pieces

I had previously ordered and received prints from LadybugArt with no issues, which is what made me confident enough to commission a custom piece.
Unfortunately, my experience with the custom artwork was completely different. I placed the commission order on 7 September 2023, but did not receive it until 3 October 2024, over a year later. When it arrived, it was not created as requested.
Throughout that year, I repeatedly tried to explain that the specific order of my girls/pups in the artwork was deeply important to me due to its personal and emotional meaning. I was initially advised to return the piece, then on 10 November 2024 I was told to keep it and promised a replacement that matched my original request.
After that, communication largely stopped. I did not hear back again until 11 June 2025, when I was asked to return the painting for a full refund. From 12 June to 3 September 2025, I repeatedly tried to confirm the correct return address and received no response. With no guidance, I returned the artwork to the address printed on the envelope, which is also the address still listed online.
The return was tracked and confirmed as delivered, yet on 11 October 2025, I was told it had not been received.
I have followed every instruction given and made every reasonable effort to resolve this. I am now over £200 out of pocket, with no artwork and no refund.
The issues appear to be specific to custom commission pieces rather than prints, which made this experience especially disappointing. This artwork was meant to honour my fur baby during a time of grief, and the prolonged delays, lack of communication, and unresolved refund have added unnecessary heartbreak to an already difficult situation.

Mixed experience. Cannot recommend LadyBug Art, it's too risky.

My experience with LadyBug Art has been upsetting. My dog developed brain cancer, and he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2023. That’s my best friend. My heart is broken, and I am drawn to media that expresses my grief.

I became a LadyBug Art customer in September 2023. The first order I placed on the website was for prints, as were the subsequent orders I placed in late October 2023 and early February 2024. Those initial three orders arrived without issue and made me feel I could trust LadyBug Art.

Late February 2024, LadyBug Art’s owner/artist Jess Tyrrell announced six “rare” custom slots were available. I placed my fourth order which included prints and a custom painting. The prints arrived without issue.

I placed a fifth and final order for prints in January 2025.

Those last two orders were placed nearly a year apart, and there were issues with both.

I expected Jess to contact me regarding my custom painting, and she didn’t. Mid-July 2024, I emailed her with information about my dog, indicated understanding that art takes time, and told her I could provide more photos if needed. I received no response and sent a follow-up email late September 2024. Still no response. Her mid-October 2024 newsletter stated any remaining commissions would be shipped out within six weeks and asked readers to refrain from sending follow-up emails. So I waited.

February 2025’s newsletters included statements suggesting delays were the customer’s fault: custom orders were Jess’s top priority; Jess hadn’t heard from some customers about their commissions; Jess’s questions need to be fully answered so she can paint our vision.

My orders didn’t seem to be a priority. As my emails had received no reply, I reached out monthly from March to June 2025 via social media and the contact form on the website. I stated I hadn’t received any questions and needed the status of my outstanding orders. No response.

I sent a final email mid-June 2025 and requested an update by the end of the month. I also requested that Jess notify me and issue refunds if my orders could not be completed. Still no response.

I had missed PayPal’s deadline to request a chargeback for my custom order.

In July 2025, I disputed the January 2025 order of prints and suddenly had Jess’s attention. She said she would get back to me about my custom order and that she was shipping the prints. She twice asked me to close my dispute. I closed it 18 days later when the prints arrived.

As of this writing on January 5, 2026, Jess has not initiated communication with me regarding my custom painting. She responded only when PayPal contacted her on my behalf.

Lessons learned. Custom art takes time to complete, but it’s unacceptable to take longer than the time allowed to request a chargeback. If you are considering making a purchase from any seller, I recommend:

(1) Review the seller’s terms to determine whether they are acceptable to you. For example, as of January 5, 2026, LadyBug Art FAQs vaguely state, “I know you are desperate to have your personal artwork as soon as possible, but these things take time.” No timeline is provided for completion of commissioned work.

(2) Seek thorough customer reviews. Watch for issues and instances the company did not do what they said they would. Examples:

- LadyBug Art FAQs state that after you make a purchase, they aim to mail your order within five days. I placed my last order for prints on January 15, 2025. That order was not dispatched until July 3, 2025, after I filed a PayPal dispute.

- To contact LadyBug Art about orders and commissions, the FAQs direct customers to use email and WhatsApp. My experience is Jess was unresponsive to all manner of inquiry. I received a message from WhatsApp indicating her account was deactivated.

(3) Be familiar with policies that protect your purchase. For example, if you pay using PayPal, you will have no more than 180 days from purchase date to file a PayPal dispute for non-delivery or item(s) not as described. If there is an issue with your order, do not miss the dispute deadline. Do not close a dispute until you reach resolution.

As I approach the end of the third year since my beloved dog passed on from this world, I have no painting of him from LadyBug Art, and I am out the hundreds of dollars I paid nearly two years ago for the commission.

It’s unthinkably heartless to take advantage of customers looking to memorialize loved ones. No matter how many satisfied customers LadyBug Art may have, there is no excuse for hurting others in this way. Buyer beware.

These prints are beautiful in person. I’m so glad I finally ordered. This artwork touches my emotions of the love I have for my dogs and the loss I suffered with 2 of my babies. Thank you for what you do and I can personally relate to the pain and heartache you feel every day over your loss.

I placed an order for a commissioned art piece at one of the most vulnerable times of my life. I had just lost my beloved boy, and I placed the order the day after he passed, simply wanting a meaningful memory to honor him. A full year has now passed — including the anniversary of his death — and I still have not received the artwork.
During this time, I received an email stating that the piece was being finished and would be sent out soon. That message gave me hope during a period of deep grief. Sadly, it turned out to be another cruel deception. The artwork never arrived.
I sent polite, respectful emails asking for updates. None were answered. No explanation, no refund, no accountability.
What hurts most is realizing that I was taken advantage of while grieving. Since then, I’ve discovered that I am not alone and that others have experienced the same treatment. This appears to be a pattern, not an isolated mistake.
I miss my boy every single day, and the added pain of being scammed while trying to memorialize him is infuriating and heartbreaking. Please be cautious. Do not fall for behavior that preys on people during their most vulnerable moments.

Beautiful & Meaningful Work

Bought a beautiful and meaningful print from Jess to remember my beloved dog, Dara. She produces stunning work with real love and empathy in each piece. She included 2 free prints along with my order which was a lovely surprise. Jess clearly paints with passion and love and I am thrilled with my purchase. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for something unique and meaningful. Would give more than 5 stars if I could - love, love, love!

I have purchased artwork from Jess at Ladybug Art almost since she began her career. I have purchased many of her copies, as well as two original oil paintings of my dogs. I love her work, and plan to purchase more in the future.

Great artist

Great artist, helping those grieving the loss of a pet. My piece of a yorkshire terrier with a halo and wings, sitting on clouds has brought great comfort with the loss of my yorkie soul mate. Missed dearly. Will definitely be looking into a commissioned piece of her. Highly recommended.

Beautiful art

I came across a picture years ago that I saved. I though to myself when the time is here I will share that picture of my beloved dogs passing because it looked like the two of us, and it said everything I felt. I did not know that it was Ladybugs art at the time, this is the one called I couldn´t follow. It is such a beautiful but also heart crushing creation. So I bought that very same print to support Ladybug. She creates beautiful pet loss art. Keep on doing what you doing and thank you!
