Lincolnshire Fuels Avaliações 

We had received nine previous heating-oil deliveries from Lincolnshire Fuels without a problem. Following a further 1,000-litre delivery on 6 January 2026, ordered through BoilerJuice, both our boiler and AGA stopped working.

The delivery paperwork for every one of our nine previous deliveries included the wording “Clean Lines.” That wording was absent from the delivery note for the delivery in question on 6 January 2026. While this does not itself establish the source of the water, I considered the difference relevant and did not receive an explanation for it.

An independent heating engineer subsequently drained approximately 50 litres of completely clear water from our metal tank over about 20 minutes. I have retained video evidence showing part of that process. The boiler filter had to be replaced, and a separate engineer was required to get the AGA working again. Our documented costs totalled £586.58.

Lincolnshire Fuels’ position was that the water resulted from condensation. I did not find this explanation convincing, given the quantity and clear appearance of the water. Our tank had been professionally emptied and cleaned in 2022, and the receipts were provided to the company. It is also securely locked and only opened for fuel deliveries. I was not offered any testing of the water.

My main criticism concerns the handling of my complaint. Despite repeated emails, I received no substantive response from Lincolnshire Fuels. A formal seven-day letter sent by recorded delivery and addressed to the CEO also went unanswered. It took nearly three months and considerable effort on my part to resolve the matter.

NWF eventually reimbursed my documented costs of £586.58 as a goodwill payment while continuing to deny liability. I appreciate that my costs were reimbursed, but neither Lincolnshire Fuels nor NWF has apologised for the disruption or for the time and effort required to resolve the complaint. In my experience, the matter could have been handled much more promptly and effectively.

As a member of UKIFDA, Lincolnshire Fuels is expected to adhere to its Code of Practice and Customer Charter, including its guidelines for handling customer complaints. In my experience, the handling of my complaint fell well below the standards I would reasonably expect of a UKIFDA member.

LF kept us in the loop as to when they would be delivering our fuel. Text the day before to ensure we knew what was happening. The driver was friendly and helpful.
