Heavy Duty Chipper not up to job.
Hired a heavy duty chipper based on website info.
When delivered by local company, they advised kit was inadequate and returned with it.
I contacted customer support who advised there was no alternative so I decided to cancel. They issued a refund less £75 for cancellation. I called to complain that I had been forced to pay a "cancellation" premium on the order, so "what was that?" and a very unhelpful person said they would escalate and return my call.
Guess what? No response.
It has taken two weeks for their refund to clear in my bank.
In my opinion their business model is skewed in their favour at every step.
I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN AND STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT EITHER.

Having read the reviews I feel very stupid that I didn’t read them before I hired the equipment. I too have not received my deposit after 5 weeks numerous emails and calls. This is a fraudulent company and requires legal action against them if so many customers have experienced the same. It’s theft plain and simple shameful stealing people’s money !!!

Terrible company to deal with
Terrible company to deal with. Didn't deliver all equipment that was hired. Didn't collect until after 10 days of being off hire, and still haven't received deposit back over a month since the equipment was picked up.

Do not use, avoid company. they send dirty tools, and exspect you to send back clean, product arrived totally different to what advertised, dont collect on time you have to chase them, but cant get through. just go somewhere else.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!
Not sent the equipment that was ordered, despite stating in order comments box that it was important that I receive equipment of the same dimensions as described, in order to fit through alley way. Ended up having to decide whether to lose the weekend’s work or cause damage to property to make it fit through.
Waited in all day for the machine to be collected on the specified day but no one showed up. I telephoned and they nonchalantly said they would collect it the next day.
Did not receive £500 deposit within the (overly long) stated refund period.
Have had numerous telephone conversation conversations, web chats and emails and was eventually promised it would be refunded by the end of the day but this did not happen.
I telephoned the next day and was told I would have a call back within the hour. Again, this did not happen.
Nearly 2 months after hiring the machine, I still do not have my deposit. They are obviously unlawfully retaining deposits to bank the interest. Meanwhile customers are deprived of their own money and loose out on interest.
Shall be taking legal action.

Very bad experience with their service. I ordered the ladder and i missed the 1st delivery when I contacted them they said i have to pay full amount again for second delivery. If possible i would have given negative ranking to them

Thank you for providing your order number.
I have reviewed the notes on your order and can see that the driver attempted to deliver your equipment on the morning of your hire.
I understand that you spoke with the driver and asked him to knock on the door. Unfortunately, the driver was unable to access the property and provided photographs showing a closed gate.
I would also like to clarify that we only offer kerbside delivery for the safety of our drivers. Therefore, even if the gate had been accessible, the driver would not have been able to proceed to the property or deliver the equipment directly to the door.
As the driver was unable to complete the delivery, the equipment was returned to the depot. This is why a failed delivery charge was applied to the order, along with an administration fee for the additional arrangements required to reschedule the delivery.
I appreciate this may not have been the outcome you expected, but I hope this helps to clarify why the charges were applied.

FRAUD & DUPLICITY
SCAMMERS - DO NOT USE:
Ordered a Karcher Vacuum Steam Cleaner and got sent (via a 3rd party) a Henry style wet/dry instead, which didn't even work!
Customer service useless and patronising and refused to arrange for the right machine, nor a refund. Now going thru credit card to get money back.
Took a day holiday to use the machine so now also wasted that.

They retain the deposit, basically they hire the tool from a local supplier then rip you off by not returning the deposit. DO NOT USE. Just find the local supplier your self.

You are correct, we don’t own our own equipment. We are a rehire company and work with a large network of supplier contacts to source equipment for our customers, saving them the time and effort of having to source it themselves.
In terms of the deposit return, I apologise that this was refunded later than it should have been. I can see that this has now been refunded, and hopefully the funds have reached your account by now.
I’m sorry again for the delay and for any frustration or inconvenience this may have caused.

Tried to hire a petrol post driver.
On the day of delivery late afternoon was called saying they could not delivery as tool wasn't available.
Agreed to wait another week and again tool wasn't available. Agreed on refund. After 10 days still no refund emailed for an update and was replied to back saying ticket has been raised then radio silence. Eventually raised a ticket with my credit card supplier and was given a refund. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I have reviewed the notes on your order and can see that our team contacted multiple suppliers in an attempt to source the post driver for you. Unfortunately, none of the suppliers we contacted had the equipment available at the time.
I can assure you that the team did everything they could to try and fulfil your order, and I’m very sorry that we were ultimately unable to source the equipment you required.
I would also like to apologise also for the delay in refunding your deposit. This took longer than it should have, and I completely appreciate the frustration this may have caused.

THEY DONT GIVE YOU DEPOSIT BACK!!! Don't waste your time, the hire part is easy but they also tell you it must be cleaned before returning it like you know how to clean diggers and dumpers. all other hire companies dont require this. Apart from that Im now in week 9 of being ignored by email, online chat when you select refunds and on there whats app. It is at this point a stratigic descison by them not to answer or pay me my deposit back. Rude and Horrible really.
Update to the below: I preemptively emailed the email below because your response is the same on all the other bad reviews here where you havent paid the deposit back and heard nothing back for 2 weeks. So what the point? More than likely just be handled in small claims court

This company does not return your deposit they took £500 from my account and have failed to refund it. There is no customer service department it’s all AI generated and it’s disgusting that I’ve possibly lost £500.

Failed to deliver the order
They tried to deliver different size scaffold tower then the one I have ordered. After two weeks of ignoring my messages and not being able to come with a conclusion, they try to blame me for the error. Never again. Keep saying that I ordered wrong size , mammoth hire should provide detailed invoice as soon as the customer paid the rental order . I have paid £4 cancellations cover so if something is wrong to can cancel the order but you not giving this opportunity to the customer without providing a detailed invoice can not be checked the order. Just charging an extra £4 for nothing….

As mentioned to you by the team, unfortunately the incorrect tower was ordered by yourself. What may have happened is you must not have selected a size and therefore it has defaulted to the smallest size which is a 2.2. I checked the confirmation email you received and I can see the size is not stated on the email. I will flag this to our development team to add this in to avoid this happening again in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
You contacted us on the 30th July to let us know that you rejected the tower and we replied 2 working days later and I can see you have been back and forth in communication with the team over the past few days.

LADDER HIRE
No confirmation email, but the ladder arrived at 8-30 am on the first day of hire period.
And we had it over the weekend free.
So really pleased with the service.

No delivery and no refund
Mammoth sent an email after 5pm the day before scheduled delivery stating they could not source the equipment, and asking if I wanted a refund. I responded saying would take the refund, which they then said would take 5-7 working days to arrive. Three weeks later and no refund. When I followed up they said they had raised a ticket with their billing department, but they did not provide a ticket number, and there is no way to follow up. I expect that their favorite bot Abbie will respond to this complaint stating that all has been dealt with and requesting more information from me.
UPDATE- after I posted this complaint Mammoth/National Hire did refund the full amount, but it was three weeks to the day the amount was withdrawn from our account

Despite sending confirmation of delivery, less than 24hours before the delivery was cancelled. It is near impossible to talk to a team member via the telephone lines once you actually find a number that is still used.

CRIMINAL!! What you see online is not what you get. They take your money and then send out a tender for anyone who wants to turn up at your house and deliver what they want even if it is nothing like the description or the photo online.
In the small print they could send you a KitKat instead of a stump grinder and nothing you can do about it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
