I couldn’t recommend Alanna’s program…
Wow! I just finished Alanna’s teacher training, and it was such a rewarding experience! It was really, everything I had hoped for in an online yoga teacher training program. I’m already teaching in studios and have even started dabbling with online teaching thanks to Alanna's clear guidance in how to do this in the training!

Switched to The Kaivalya Yoga Method from *another* online course
I started a *different* online yoga teacher training program that was about the same price, and was so disappointed in the lack of support and watered-down instruction that I went looking elsewhere.
I’M SO GLAD I DID.
Switching to The Kaivalya Yoga Method was the right decision … and would be for anyone that truly takes their yoga education seriously. Alanna is no joke when it comes to training people. She’s been doing it for decades, apparently. She has a super high level of accountability and standards (which I understand is *not* for everyone if you don’t want to work hard!) that I’m grateful for, because it means that being certified with her really means something.
She’s modeled her program after online colleges. Actually, it’s a similar format to some of the classes I did online for my degree. Her mentors are like professor’s TAs and are AWESOME at helping with feedback on tests and answering questions about the curriculum.
Which, by the way, I should mention are COMPREHENSIVE. The *other program* had maybe a couple dozen hours of videos? Alanna’s course has literally hundreds of hours of content … like, there’s so much, she doesn’t leave anything out. And,I was so pleasantly surprised at the level of accountability and at the chance to submit video tests and get personal feedback (Thank you, mentor Jordyn!) … especially when I bombed a test and needed to redo it. Jordyn was so compassionate in her feedback, and honestly, doing it over was such a valuable lesson and made me a better teacher.
So, if you’re looking for a teacher training that goes way beyond *other* online programs, and you take becoming a yoga teacher seriously, I definitely recommend The Kaivalya Yoga Method training … you won’t be disappointed!

Incredible and comprehensive training
Alanna built her school on deep passion and integrity, and is one of the most dedicated and caring experiences I've had the pleasure to be involved with, both in person (pre-pandemic) and with the amazing system she built to be able to offer yoga training online. You can get a yoga certificate in a few weeks from lots of places (and I've done a lot of trainings around the world), but they don't offer the deep anatomy, history, framing, support and facilitation experience that Alanna and her team has put into all the programs. When you're dealing with other people's bodies, you have their trust, health and mental well-being in your hands and Alanna's training is one of the few that I trust to prepare myself to do so.

Terrible company
Terrible company. Do not use!! They have been double charging me for five months and after two months dealing with them still refuse to refund my money. When discussing with them they stated that a past emoloyee who agreed to cancel my second account was not authorized to say she could do that bc if you accidentally sign up for two accounts you are liable for both. They will not stop payments on either account. And continue to charge me twice stating that I need to pay for both accounts. The past employee who told me she would stop the second account five months ago was let go and they feel that this legitimate reason not to refund my account for the second account.
They also do not get back to you on whether you pass a lesson for at least weeks. I have several I am still awaiting grades from weeks ago.
They also make claims that are just not true. Their website was not able to be access I had someone tell me that it was down and they didn't know how long it would be. No they claim that is not true. I talked through email to two people, the phone to two people. All stating it was on their end.
I will be reporting them to the better business bureau. Please please do not go through them. They are not a good company.
I am actually shocked at a company who is essentially stealing from me. They are still unwilling to refund or stop payments and it's been two months.

As soon as it was brought to our attention, you were refunded for all the double payments, and a screenshot was sent to you via our customer service with verification of the refund and cancellation. We also advised that you go through PayPal to ensure that the automatic payments were halted, as that isn't something we can control on our end.
Because of the double-registration, we fully refunded one of the enrollments, and continued to keep you in the other, as we assumed you'd like to continue to pursue your certification, as you were actively moving through the course and submitting assignments -- which I've personally reviewed and it looks like all assignments had personalized feedback and response within 48 hours.

It's been 5 days and I still haven't been refunded for the double xharge that was made to my bank account.
I have emailed my bank statement and reached out to them multiple times.
These people just don't care. They are definitely not facilitating that peaceful, harmonious life their trying to sell.

horrible course
overall... an awful experience - alanna is not involved in the program at all. she has "mentors" but they have limited knowledge and are not very helpful. I have interacted with other students in the program in our online campus and a lot of them feel the same.
I wound up finishing the program just so I did not waste my money, but wish I chose somewhere else or an in-person, live training. this training seems to be extremely money driven as well. they are always marketing their other courses and make students buy unnecessary things to stay "alive" in training or they get kicked out. it was a very poor experience.
choose one of the other online programs or take a live training. Avoid allanak at all costs... that is my suggestion!

I can assure you, I'm deeply involved in my courses! In fact, there are hundreds of hours of video lectures and classes with me inside the program. 😊 Just as in a college curriculum, my mentors act as teaching assistants to work with you directly to provide feedback and support all the way through the program. During your tenure with us, there was a full-schedule of live classes, Q&As, and additional supportive programming (including events led by yours truly) inside the online campus community. Hopefully you were able to take advantage of that added programming.
We never "make" students purchase anything, and do provide lifetime access to all content and materials. Any additional purchases are always optional, and many of our students opt to continue receiving elevated mentor support, or join our other courses in order to continue their education as yoga instructors.

I was super excited to join the course…
I was super excited to join the course and everything. Yet they don’t really check on you during the classes at allllllll. Just go to real yoga school the only time they check on you is for a payment. And then if you haven’t completed the course they ask for extended payment. I was having a rough year due to COVID life changes but they don’t care. It’s crazy they only check on you about a PAYMENT. 900$ Lost it’s so sad that I don’t even want to become a yoga instructor because of this school plus I lost money to go to another school so I’m SOL. Keep your time and money. I wish they cared more.

This means there is a high level of personal interaction throughout the program as you progress through the course!

Buyers BEWARE! "Who is Alanna Kaivalya YTT 200?" Does Alanna Kaivalya even exist?? www dot Allannak.com is a nightmare! I choose to live my life with integrity and positivity. I am not about leaving any negative reviews for any business unless I feel it necessary to inform humanity about a online yoga teacher training that is essentially and obviously more about setting up multiple websites, marketing, BS videos than providing any type of communication including but not limited to emails (you may get one after 3-5 days waiting, no technical support (it has been 30 days since I purchased course and still I cannot access the actual course), no customer support (the owner I think does not really exist; who is she???) I hate to say this but I feel like this is a sham that has again been approved by Yoga Alliance (2nd yoga YTT I have paid for and is not a legit or ran poorly School) I have contacted Alanna Kaivalya Yoga School multiple times to inform them that their school is ran poorly and it has been 30 days of serious anxiety trying to figure out 1) what HTML address is valid 2) Why they keep trying to charge me for another class 3) Who is Alanna Kaivalya and why is she MIA 4) No tech support whatsoever. 5) Why didn't "Yoga Alliance" check their process and procedures prior to giving them credentials?
I think people need to start questioning the Credentials of "Yoga Alliance" Why arnt we??? Does that mean any homeless person off the street can start their own Yoga SCHOOL WITH LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE AND CREATE A FEW WEBSITES AND "YOGA ALLIANCE " JUST ACCREDIDATES ANYONE????? What is going on????

I can assure you, I do exist. 😊 I have been registered as a teacher with Yoga Alliance since 2002, and as a school since 2011. After having written and directed yoga teacher trainings for studios across the country, I moved all my work online in 2015.
Of course, being online is not without its challenges! Sometimes tech glitches happen, and we do our best to correct them as quickly as possible. In fact, we recently launched a new website and refined all our processes to ensure clearer and better access for all our students.
Our customer service policy is to respond to any inquiry within 24-48 hours, and we take this very seriously. They provide tech support as well as answering any questions you may have!
Of course, we also have mentors who work directly with students to provide feedback and support to all test and video submissions. In fact, this high-level of personalized interaction with students is unparalleled.

Former (disappointed) student
I am a former student, and I'd just like to put some information out there regarding my own experience for anyone considering this program. Myself and my friend (an already certified yoga instructor who was looking for more tools for her practice) were forced to walk away from this program after several months of frustration, mistreatment, and eventually financial loss. I am uncertain if Andrew Hoffman is still with the program, however he is a nightmare to deal with--very condescending, hurtful, and rude. The curriculum was changed without warning halfway through our program, and we were one module away from completion. This ultimately would require us to re-submit completed and already graded assignments. There is absolutely zero interaction with Alanna, and no way to connect with "the owner" of the academy when there is a concern. Much of the program content was very good info, but the delivery and interaction with staff was very disappointing. I will say that my dealings with Jordyn B were pleasant, and I appreciated her willingness to listen/attempt to resolve issues. Ultimately this program is very much a "self teach" and "self support" program, so if you are looking for a quick certification with minimal help from instructors this might be for you. If you'd like a program with a little more depth, compassion, and support from administration, I'd advise you to do yourself a favor and look elsewhere as this may not be the best fit for you. This is certainly what we will be doing. Best of luck to past, current, and considering students when it comes to their Yoga journey. Namaste.

I am, however, heartened to hear of your excellent interactions with Jordyn! She is a gem, and she is currently the lead mentor in our program. People love working with her, and I'm so glad your experience was reflective of that.
While the curriculum has never shifted, we did streamline our testing process in mid-2021. It should not have caused you to need to resubmit tests. With all of our students moving through the same shift, we took great care to maintain both records and continuity throughout the process. If this negatively impacted you, we would love the opportunity to make it right and ensure you get to the finish line.
I am very much involved in the program, and also have a fantastic team assisting me in providing excellent care and support for our students! We all work together in our respective areas to help. 🙋♀️

The way the 'program' is set up is cumbersome and many glitches in the program prevents students from moving forward. The yoga flows themselves are short snippets rather than a true yoga flow. The material is prerecorded and you watch the same material seven days in a row. The instructions is definitely subpar. Ultimately this is an online scam.

This review is not for our yoga teacher training program, but for our 28 day bootcamp. The purpose of the bootcamp is to empower you with the training and tools you need to create your own personalized yoga practice. This is why I give you "snippets" ... yoga sequences ... that you can put together to make your own yoga flow. I also provide instruction on sequencing, AND there is a full 60 minute yoga flow class as part of the bootcamp, too, if you just want to be guided!
Every seven days of this 28 day experience, new material is released so you have time to process and build on your practice and your progress. The point of the bootcamp is to place the power and potential of yoga into your own hands.
We've been running this 4-week bootcamp yearly since 2017! Hundreds of people have completed it ... and with our wellness-testing system have seen the marked improvement in their body, mind, and spirit as a result.

Great program
Great program, I am truly grateful to have been apart of it. I started in July. And yes it has took me some time and yes I’ve had to pay for extensions but this program is ran at your own paste so it has given me lots of time to work and still come and do my school work. The modules provide in depth education and learning. I am impressed. I am really grateful for this and to be certified soon. It has taken me hard work and dedication. Hi, i’m not taking this class to be certified so I can get a job, I just want to be certified so I can volunteer at nursing home veteran center to help out. Give back to community. What happened taking this class?
i’m at almost the end of my class. Looks like I had to pay another extension $127.00. I submitted the last assignment with only a few days left to the end of the class hoping I don't have to pay another extension so I rushed to finished at the same time helping out my husband’s grandmother’s funeral, what had happened? Three days witch is the last day of my class and soon to be locked on me for the class and say I felled. I wasn't upset because I fell, I was mad because they took time. They want me to pay an extension. I read other reviews , noticed, had similar issues. More extension, more more....
I think it's their game.
During the pandemic I lost two family members and 2 pets so it took a little longer and the most difficult time I ever experienced in my life in America but I was passing no problem except for very at the end. I addressed my situation, they think I was make story. No compassion at all.
English is my second language so I hope you all can read what i’m trying to say. Please be careful! Don't make a mistake like me.

We take pride in our high-level of support and interaction in our program. One of the unique elements of The Kaivalya Yoga Method online certification program is the inclusion of highly-qualified mentors who give you personalized feedback to all test and video submissions. Just like a teaching assistant at a graduate school, our mentors support you through every step of your development and learning as a yoga teacher.
We value our mentors highly, and provide every student unlimited access to them for 6 months (for the 200 hour program) or 12 months (for the 500 hour program). On average our students graduate from the 200 hour program in 2-3 months, and the 500 hour program in 5-6 months, so this is generally ample time to complete your certification with this high level of support.
Because of the labor-intensive nature of this involvement, additional time with the mentors can be taken up with extensions if necessary.
Of course, we provide forever-access to all course content and materials without exception.

I am a yoga teacher and wanted to get certified by a school that can certify through Yoga Alliance. That was my main reason for going through training again. I wanted great training in anatomy, alignment, cues, and teaching instead of mostly chanting and meditations and history. And I was able to get the training and certification that I needed. Keep in mind that it can take two or three days for mentors to grade your quizzes and tests. So make extra time for that. Yoga Alliance programs are not easy. Study carefully and you will learn how to be a teacher. Allow plenty of extra time for yourself to prepare for the final and time in case you need to retake it. I passed the first time. In my opinion, self paced makes it easier to focus on all parts of training.
