This was a first for me selling a Rolex. Probably like most people I approached a few companies so that I could get a good offer for my watch.

There were quite a few replies and quite a variation in quotes and methods of, "How the transaction takes place."

My particular Rolex was an above £10,000 item so I was reluctant to send it off in the post to anyone regardless of the offer.

I received a call from Dan at Money for Watches. He made me an offer for my watch based on the pictures I had sent. His offer wasn't the best offer I had received but it was a good offer none the less and having had the process explained, I agreed to the transaction.

We made an appointment for Dan to come to my home where he would inspect the watch and all being in order we would complete the transaction. This meant that I wouldn't be sending my Rolex off into the abyss and for Dan it obviously meant a face to face meeting where he could see what he was buying and how it tied in with the original description.

Dan arrived at the appointed time, very nice to meet him, very polite, well presented and professional. (Likes San Pelligrino mineral water by the way so get some in if you are having a visit).

Showed Dan my watch which he took a few moments to inspect with his Jewellers' inspection glass thing, he checked the documentation for the watch and as the watch was as described he agreed to the offer price.

Payment for the watch was made there and then on his portable Payment Device. (There was a slight delay in this due to the amount as Nat West Bank, like many other banks have a security protocol.) After a quick telephone call from Dan to Nat West to confirm the payment, the funds were immediately in my account.

Totally professional and honest service and you don't t have to put your watch in the post to anyone you don't know.

I received a very quick response from Dan and Ben requesting the necessary photos and details of my watch. An offer was made within 48 hours, they were happy to negotiate, and collected my Rolex from my home in York within 2 hours. Payment was made instantly into my account before Dan left.
