Canterbury of New Zealand was established back in 1904 when John Lane, Pringle Walker and Alfred Rudkin began producing woollen garments deep in the Canterbury Province of New Zealand. Before long, they were making uniforms for the army during the First World War, and they earned themselves a reputation for manufacturing tough, durable kit. So much so, the legendary All Blacks rugby team approached them to produce rugby attire in which they could play.
The rest as they say is history; Canterbury of New Zealand outfitted the All Blacks team for over 75 years and is now the largest dedicated rugby brand in the world. Canterbury currently supplies kit to numerous high-profile national rugby teams; England Rugby and Ireland Rugby, as well as leading clubs such as Bath and Ospreys.
The brand has its roots firmly in the southern hemisphere with its spiritual home in New Zealand. The Kiwi heritage strongly influences both the design of Canterbury product and the ethos of the company.

Don't like the button not being hidden anymore
Not my first time buying this black rugby jersey. But they have changed the design. The white buttons used to be hidden between two parts of the fabric. Now they have made the button hole go all the way through, so you get a random white button poking out. Feels like a cost saving measure as it's less sewing, but the aesthetic is not it anymore.

Not the right size
I like the brand but it's not true to size. I'm a size m so i bought size m shorts and they were more like a size s. So I bought 2 more shorts because i like the brand but Instead I put down size L's and they were still tight on me and not what i was wanting. I recommend going a size or even two sizes up if you are looking for comfort.

Although I cancelled order (because thought ordered wrong size, didn't realise UK sizing not US), boots were still dispatched and credit card debited. However, boots fantastic. Son thrilled. Bought on sale. Awesome price!
