Do not use paypal pay in 3! I selected this on an item I bought which i never received, they still insisted i had to pay for it! Literally against consumer laws! Useless customer service as well.

I paid the PayPal credit balance in full and closed the account. 3 weeks later they attempt to take my monthly minimum payment by direct debit taking me into an unauthorised overdraft. Will be raising a formal complaint
DO NOT USE!
DO NOT USE!! Keep sending me around in circles! Call them, open case, cannot access solution or documents provided by merchant that they keep using to close a case! Avoid - use an actual credit card company.
Biggest mistake in my life
Biggest mistake in my life. Worst credit card, £50 every month in fees. DO NOT TAKE IT
I paid balance in full August 19th 2025…
I paid balance in full August 19th 2025 of 2,250 but yet they still have not credited the account and it's September 2 2025. Then I had to call several times just to get them to report to credit agencies it was paid in full. They hold your payment till they feel like crediting the account. Not even a bank which it came from hold it for that long. Banks only hold it for 10 days .
Rigid payment system makes it difficult to manage repayments
I have been using PayPal Credit for a long time and was generally satisfied, until I faced a serious issue with their payment allocation system.
When I make extra payments, the money is automatically applied to balances that don’t require urgent repayment (for example, a 12-month plan), while purchases with earlier deadlines remain unpaid. This forces me to find extra funds to meet upcoming due dates, even though I have already paid in advance.
PayPal’s explanation is that the system follows FCA rules and is designed to minimise interest. While I understand this logic, in practice it works against customers who simply want to repay their debts gradually and on time according to due dates. The lack of flexibility makes financial planning unnecessarily stressful.
I raised a formal complaint, but the response was that everything is “working correctly.” In my view, this shows little consideration for customer needs. Unless PayPal introduces an option to choose how payments are allocated, I will have to stop using this service and look for a more customer-friendly alternative.
Never get credit with PayPal
Never get credit with PayPal, they are miserable, they charge you even if you want a statement
Avoid - refunds knock out 0% interest plans 🤯
Have called Paypal Credit several times to get a refund on interest, I should not be paying. A refund was allocated by their system to pay off 0% interest plans - because they had been running longer than newer purchases - why would you pay off interest free purchases before paying off purchases that attract interest? I didn't request this - so undo it. One obnoxious advisor repeatedly kept saying that was the sysyem, he couldn't even tell me what I was being charged interest for. Wasted too much time trying to sort it out. Avoid.
Never had an issue with PayPal credit…
Never had an issue with PayPal credit till today. Paid on time as I always do. I logged back in to see it has been reversed, not by me but by PayPal and they have the cheek to put a £12 late fee on.
I have had no emails or any correspondence to say this has happened, it was just by chance I logged in. Of course you can’t speak to anyone either.
Very misleading website for Paypal…
Very misleading website for Paypal Credit, current balance on the right of the screen does not match recent transactions, only 2 promotional offers shown in the transaction tab, and not the transaction which will attract interest if not paid by next statement date. I had to go to statement tab to find the transaction, and because my DD did not cover this transaction and despite the DD date being 10 days away I was advised that the change would not be implemented on time and to make a one-off payment to cover this transaction.
Misleading website and rubbish that you cannot change your DD 10 before its due to go out!
Paypal Stole my rent $
This... is insane yall.
July 24th 2025, I log into my account to copy my litecoin adress as im looking to sell 9ltc and withdraw to my bank. [NOTE:] I have recieved/sent ltc numerous times spanning over a month with paypal to my 3rd party wallet in which my ltc came from, prior to the date above.
I log in and I notice my account is -$100. I then recall my mother on the phone with her bank, 2weeks ago, talking about unauthorized charges. She sent me $100 on July 3rd , while we were parked outside of her bank even.
With the amount of ltc im thinking of sending, im not worried about the negative balance since its my mom and I know this was most likely a mistake on her part not knowing that was the one she had sent me. My account had $7 in ltc which I sold and it went against my -$100 balance.
How in the world could I even begin to think anything else other than
"Well, if I send my account $1100 in litecoin, I'll be able to sell it and cover my negative balance. I just sold the $7 in litecoin just fine, ez-pz"
So, I make the biggest mistake of the year, I send 9ltc to my paypal account, again, from the same 3rd party I've been using with paypal crypto transfers for almost 2 months.
I am un able to sell my coin, as all it states is that there is a problem l, and to try later. Its 3am now, im losing my cool so just go to sleep and call them before I go to work.
Im on the phone a good 2 hours until I get transferred to someone, who was insanely uninterested in what I had to say. He mentioned there being a security issue that would be lifted in 4 hours. Its 15 hours later, I just got to work, I can't sell my litecoin. I get back on yhe phone with paypal, they say I need to upload money to get my account even So that I can sell my 9ltc. Being that I took that Friday off because, well, I thought I had $1100 to go spend on a new washer and dryer, I have zero money and have to wait for Saturday morning to grab my tips and pay the rest of the balance. So I cough up the money in the morning, pay the balance, it let's me sell the 9ltc, BUT I CANNOT WITHDRAW?!!?
I call paypal again, and my case gets immediate attention and im thinking , ok this is nothing. 2 hours on the phone later, a nice lady from paypal crypto department manages allow me the buying of $200 in ltc, and she even sends me $10 to cover transfers fees. I mean, I have a statement in my transaction history that reass ^PAYPAL - +10^
So all I manage to do is buy $200 and send it out. I sit cannot use my bank and she cant get the system to allow me another try at buying ltc. She says to wait until Monday.
Ok sure not too bad and I just got $200 out. Well, not but 5 minutes after her ending our call, I get an email from paypal saying that my account is perm limited. I call back, no one helps, im on hold for hours even. I got really upset. Like, why, I had not done anything different from before. How does paypal go from covering my ltc transaction fees to perm limiting? They say 180 days for my money in case of disputes or refunds.... HOW??? ITS MY LTC I SENT THERE???
So after four days more of calling and no one helping me, just only saying my account is limited, they cannot tell me why, and goodbye, I do the only thing the website will allow me to do, I submit unauthorized charges against all of my ltc transactions. Talk about rage clicking.
So now they talk to me when i call, but offer no understanding to what i had done, and every single person i talked to at paypal, i swear it felt like they all just made up some issue that really had no weight or merit with my actual situation, but here is the kicker, so in disputing my own selling of 9 ltc, it flipped my account from $880 to -$195. It did this about 5 minutes after the disputes. Now, the dispute failed, it says so in the email and they tell me over the phone. But my balance... has not returned to normal. How is this even close to ok? You cannot tell me that not one of those employees can look at what's happening and just help fix this. Beyond reasonable doubt, I find it highly detrimental to anyone who uses any online banking system, that they must give in to the terms and conditions we apparently break, BUT ARE NEVER TOLD WHAT WE DID.
So right now, I call every day and its been something new I must do that was never heard of before, and I do it, and sometimes, it wasnt even possible or had already been done of me, and so Im waiting for them to remove the dispute I had placed on my own selling. Ill tell you this, each and every phone call, was forwarded to a private number. I heard kids, people knocking on doors, an airplane, but never no one else talking in the background like you would think a call center would be. So who am I really calling and can these people even help me, being that none of them offer the same type of support, the only thing in common for them to say is how they can do nothing , and tell me over and over that my account is limited. THEN WHY EVEN TAKE THE PHONE CALL???
Paypal Credit keep taking more money…
Paypal Credit keep taking more money than is owed, I made a purchase for £26.74/month for new phone in 2024 then later on in 2025 a Interest free payment for a ring over 4 months. I upped my direct debit to cover £91.74. after this time I reduced direct debit back to £26.74, Paypal keep taking £91.74. To get a refund they wanted me to cancel direct debit at my bank even though payment has been taken. But this would mean I would then have missed a payment of £26.74 and get a bad credit. Paypal credit are so hard to get hold of. The helpline helpers are just not listening. This happens every time I deal with the credit side. They always take more and will ignore your request to lower payments. Now I had to pay an additional £21.74 over the phone and await refund of £91.74!! which can take an additional 20 days to receive. All with no confirmation emails. I did get one email to say DD amount changed but it had no amount on it. When I checked my DD is still at £91.74. I am at a loss how to move forward.
Walk past this company
I am also looking forward to getting rid of pay pal credit as I don't understand what and how they calculate. I control my spending but end up paying extra.
I used PayPal Credit to purchase an…
I used PayPal Credit to purchase an item from a seller who failed to deliver. Despite providing clear evidence that no goods were received, my case was closed in the seller’s favour.
Unlike traditional credit cards, which offer robust Section 75 protection for non-delivery, PayPal Credit leaves you in the dark. You’re forced to raise a dispute through PayPal’s resolution centre and hope for the best — no guarantees, no transparency, and no meaningful support.
The service is slow, ineffective, and totally unfit for purpose when something goes wrong. If you’re expecting any protection as a buyer, don’t rely on PayPal Credit. You’d be better off using a proper credit card or even your bank debit card, which at least allows for proper chargebacks.
Avoid PayPal Credit unless you’re happy to gamble with your money.
I've just set up a direct debit to pay…
I've just set up a direct debit to pay PayPal and since that someone is trying to take nearly £300 out of my bank account and I'm receiving emails from dodgy companies but can I hell get to speak to anyone at PayPal . Can never get logged in and constantly having to send new password. Very very frustrating. Avoid avoid, avoid at all costs
WARNING !!!PayPal credit affecting your credit score by their mistake !
Review:
I’m writing this to warn others: do not trust PayPal Credit with your credit score.
My payment was due on July 10, and I paid it on time — yet they falsely reported a missed payment, which has now hurt my credit score. This is completely unacceptable and irresponsible.
I contacted their support, but they were unhelpful and did nothing to correct the error. I now have a negative mark on my credit report for doing nothing wrong.
It’s ridiculous that a company this large can’t properly manage something as serious as payment reporting. If you value your credit, stay far away from PayPal Credit.
Paypal and Paypal credit best to be…
Paypal and Paypal credit best to be avoided. I have used PayPal for many years and it's safe to say it's all gone horribly wrong.
The problem for me started when I bought an item using paypal credit that turned out to be faulty. I emailed the company but had no reply from them and thinking they were ignoring me I raised a dispute, when I had five mins I called the company and it turned out their email had not got to me (although I was receiving their sales emails) so I asked paypal to hold off to allow the seller and I to sort the problem between ourselves.
Paypal communication is very poor both by phone and web chat. They decide to contact the company even though I said not to, so I said well if you cant follow my instructions close the dispute. Big mistake! Their policy is not to reopen disputes and will keep telling you they can't. After a week of the seller having the faulty item returned it felt like they were quibbling over the refund so I contacted paypal for support only to be told we can't do anything, even though my statutory rights were being infringed. They expected me to pay for an item I didn't have, we're talking hundreds of pounds here. I told them to put all this in writing as I will be taking it further. Luckily the company have now agreed a refund and as soon as that happens I will be closing my paypal account for good.
Nightmare attempt at payment
There always seems to be a problem. They arranged five (yes, gfve!) 6 figure passcodes from my bank, and then one from them which said it had cleared the cheks. But still my payment would not go tnrough. When I tried again I was asked for yet another passcode. I have told the supplier - a local society garden party - that I will pay at the door - in cash.

PayPal: Banned for No Reason as a First-Time User
I had the absolute worst experience trying to create a PayPal account for the very first time. I was simply trying to register my information, and without any clear explanation, my account was immediately and permanently banned.
Here's exactly what happened:
I started the registration process, entering my name and address in English. Living in Egypt, postal codes aren't something we typically use, so I had to take a moment to look mine up online. After finding it, I returned and successfully entered it. I decided to skip adding my bank card at that specific step because I wanted to consult my bank first about how linking it to PayPal might affect my account. I then continued with the registration.
Almost immediately after this, I received a message stating that my account was "limited" and I needed to confirm my information. I promptly uploaded a clear photo of my National ID card, expecting to resolve the limitation. However, as soon as my ID was submitted, my account was permanently banned.
This is completely unacceptable. I was a brand-new user, diligently trying to provide all the requested information. There was no suspicious activity, no unusual transactions – literally nothing but me trying to set up an account for the first time. To be instantly banned without any reason or clear explanation, especially after providing my official identification, is incredibly frustrating and feels entirely unjust.
either PayPal's system, in this instance, is broken or it is just pure racism. It's impossible to use a service that bans new users for simply trying to register and verify their identity. I cannot recommend PayPal to anyone if this is how they treat potential new customers.
They are actually the worse company out…
They are actually the worse company out there! Don’t bother using them as I missed a payment which was down to them not having my bank on the list for an auto payment and my credit score went down by 76 points!!! Have raised a dispute but nothing. Have cleared the credit and deleted the app and will never be using them again. Hope people stop using them they didn’t want to help me and just seem like scammers

I have been a loyal customer for a few years. I haven't received a parcel and PayPal has not been helping me. They don't care about their customers and have no soft skills. Avoid at all cost
