Do not use paypal pay in 3! I selected this on an item I bought which i never received, they still insisted i had to pay for it! Literally against consumer laws! Useless customer service as well.

TERRIBLE COMPANY. IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE PAYPAL CREDIT… DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR BY CALLING THEM UP TO DELETE YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. THEY NEVER TAKE THE MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE REQUESTED THAT LEADS TO LATE PAYMENT FEES. AS SOON AS YOU GET A LATE PAYMENT FEE THEY TURN OFF 0% INTEREST. BIGGEST SCAM ORGANISATION. Extremely poor customer service and refusal to resolve a small duplicate charge for online shopping. PayPal refused to investigate appropriately and were dismissive of every communication. Their complaint process is designed to be obstructive and they are no longer a platform I will be using for thousands of £'s of spending every year. I would strongly recommend closing any PayPal account as I believe they are no longer fit for purpose.

This company operates in a very strange way for some reason they will email you saying direct debit was successful then email you saying it’s unsuccessful money takes ages to leave your account when paying them all the other accounts take money out the date stated I will be closing my pay pal credit account very unprofessional

PayPal Credit account was opened without my knowledge! This is the worst!
One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. My complaint was repeatedly ignored, with little to no response despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
The situation was only taken seriously after I paid the fees they were charging me, which raises serious concerns about how this company operates and treats its customers.
Being effectively ignored until payment is made is not acceptable practice. This has caused unnecessary stress and wasted time. Finally they closed my account!
I have no confidence in this company’s ability to handle customer concerns fairly or professionally.Complaint ignored for weeks with no meaningful response.
Lack of transparency, accountability, and customer care throughout.
Would not recommend not even to my worst enemy!

Customer service is in the disputes department is an absolute unprofessional joke. Hours wasted on the phone after I was scammed, I submitted proof, they gave the scammer their money back then charged ME $15 as a dispute fee. I called back to speak with a higher up to review the " recorded " call, apparently there is no one who cares enough to review the call, so why even say youre recording them. I have used paypal for 7 years, never again. I will be cancelling all automatic payments I have set up with paypal and remove all money.

Terrible experience with Synchrony/PayPal Credit. I was told to submit my Social Security documents and driver’s license so they could update my account information. Instead of updating it, they closed my long-standing account with a credit line of over $9,000.

The letter they sent gave no real explanation, only a vague statement that they could not validate my SSN with the Social Security Administration. That is not a proper explanation, especially after I provided the documents they specifically asked for. If there was an issue, they should have clearly explained it and allowed me to correct it instead of immediately closing the account.

Very unfair treatment for a customer who had the account for years. No transparency, no accountability, and no solution other than telling me to apply again. Completely unacceptable.

I looked into PayPal Business Credit recently to help buy a $2500 tool that I need. PayPal required I borrow $5000 plus almost $1000 in fees. The loan required I pay roughly $117 a week for 52 weeks.

I don't want to borrow more than I need, and if my business had an extra $500+ per month, I wouldn't need the loan. I declined the offer.

About 20 minutes, my phone rang. A PayPal sales guy called me to "finish setting up my loan." I told him I didn't finish it online because I didn't want the loan - it didn't suit my needs. He wouldn't take no for an answer, so I politely ended the call and hung up.

This experience has taught me PayPal cannot be trusted when it comes to business credit.

Horrible customer service. Very rude and talked down to me. Not worth it!

I would not recommend paypal credit. Even if you set up a direct debit they override it and take more than the agreed amount. They claim you get 4month promotion on purchases over £99 but is a lie. They even take more than the current statement balance for purchases that are to be paid on you next statement due date. Very dishonest and misleading. When you call to clarify they go round in circle giving no valid explantion and is rude on top of that, saying they cannot speak with you when you are trying to ask questions.

Technically a 0. For their credit card.
I made a payment and was charged a late fee. Their rates are CRAZY., as well. AND 30min. on the phone because they send the calls overseas…
I completely paid my account and closed the credit card.

Terrible experience, website and service. Paid on time for years and decided to set up a direct debit; their website wouldn’t work because it is so substandard. I forgot about it then got a late-fee and confirmation that they were passing this late fee to Experian?! It was £12 and now it’ll hinder me getting a mortgage. Customer service is non-existent - just bots and ridiculous online chat systems that are designed to make you give up in exasperation.

Shocking experience with PayPal Credit. I made a purchase from Argos and took up the offer of 0% credit for 4 months via PayPal Credit, opting to pay this off via direct debit. PayPal took the first payment from my bank on the agreed date but then 30 minutes later returned the payment and subsequently cancelled my direct debit, they then sent me an email saying my account was in arrears and that I may be reported for this missed payment and face a £12 late payment fee. Speaking with their customer support was extremely frustrating as they just stuck to the line that I'd not set things up correctly and that payment for PayPal Credit would need to be via direct debit/bank payment rather than from my PayPal account - which is exactly what I'd done. At no point did anyone from PayPal acknowledge any failure on their side or offer any words in apology.

My PayPal Credit was used by someone to purchase 3 Wowcher vouchers totalling £820. Despite informing Paypal that these were fraudulent when I raised a dispute they ruled that it was authorised activity. To add insult to injury after I reported it they let another payment go through and still ruled in the sellers favour.

I was allowed to escalate the issue at which point it was reviewed by another internal fraud specialist - surprise surprise this came to the same conclusions.

Unlike traditional credit cards, which offer robust Section 75 protection for non-delivery, PayPal Credit leaves you in the dark. You’re forced to raise a dispute through PayPal’s resolution centre and hope for the best — no guarantees, no transparency, and no meaningful support.

The service is slow, ineffective, and totally unfit for purpose when something goes wrong. If you’re expecting any protection as a buyer, don’t rely on PayPal Credit. You’d be better off using a proper credit card or even your bank debit card, which at least allows for proper chargebacks.

Avoid PayPal Credit - I will be paying off my minimal balance and closing my account immediately. I will also report this to the financial ombudsman.

I disputed a $2,014.19 PayPal Credit charge for merchandise that was never received. The package was misdelivered by the carrier and I provided documentation. Months later I learned the dispute had been denied, but I was never notified of that decision. The only letters I received said the dispute was under review and then referenced a promotional balance. I only discovered the denial after calling customer service. The charge has now been placed into promotional financing with a short payment deadline while my CFPB complaint is still pending. The lack of communication and transparency in this process has been extremely frustrating.

Used paypal for 13 years thinking my purchases and money was safe , no so i was scammed for £29.99 for a subscription i did not sign up to. Told paypal 10 times about it and also told them to stop the payment to that company. Nothing doing excuses up excuses from them even applied there decision but they too thick to understand. We i will be closing my account with them. Plenty other platforms to use

Serious bait and switch to trick you to ordering the card. I was given an option on Reverb.com to buy a guitar amp with paypal credit and have 0% if I pay it in 3 months. I went ahead, qualified, went to check out AND REVERB DIDN'T ACCEPT THE OPTION TO PAY. This morning the credit card arrived in the mail. I'm a sucker. How is that legal? To give you the option to pay with that offer IN CHECKOUT?
